It was a great question. The answer is no. But the comparison to Peyton is not accurate. Even if you removed that Super Bowl, he’s still won one and been to 2 others. Consistent talent AND winning is what it takes to be an all time great. Let alone a GOAT.
Exactly! It should’ve exposed Acho too cause he lives and dies by QB wins. But for some reason he doesn’t wanna put Aikman, Eli and Bradshaw in front of Aaron. Btw I don’t either cause I’m not a QB wins stat at all!
No it doesn’t expose them. They’re telling you it’s everything. Montana Mahomes Mannibg Brady all won MVPs of the regular season. Aaron won more but the retort is they won more superbowls and MVPs of the superbowl.
Yall just slow lol. Their whole point was talent ain’t enough to be in that goat convo alone. AR has MVPs, cool. So do the other Qbs and they have more championships. Now if he wins a second championships it qualifies him. Because now he has the talent and multiple championships. It’s simple 😂
James said. “ if Aaron Rodgers comes out and throws 9 TDs and 17ints but the jets win the super do we upgrade Rodgers” Joy&Shady “ yes we upgrade him because then he has atleast 2 rings” wtf logic is that?
Here's the logic: In his advanced age, he has already acquired the stats and we've seen his talent/prowess over the years to give him the grace of having a bad reg season if he shows up in the playoffs where and when it matters most and gets a SB Championship. "Winning cures everything"
The logic is simple. People look at stats and leave out context. Payton manning in those play offs made all the right plays and a crucial reason why they beat the patriots in the AFC championship. Any other quarterback most likely throws a few interceptions or doesn’t do enough to win, and send them to the Super Bowl. It was a low scoring game and manning understood to simply keep the ball out of harms way to win. For context I do think that it’s close enough whereby if Aaron wins one more Super Bowl he would surpass Peyton. As of now he has no chance of catching Brady.
Peyton Manning played horribly for the Broncos in the Super Bowl he won with them, Von Miller was the Super Bowl MVP for a reason. Manning played horribly that whole year, to the point he was benched during the regular season. If Rodgers plays well and wins another ring doing it, he easily jumps into the top 5.
Montana has 4 titles, 3 Superbowl MVPs, 2 MVPs. In no way does 4 MVPs make up for only having 1 title for Rodgers. He's not even close with a 2nd title.
Exactly James jones don't wanna admit it but aaron Rodgers is a choker he knows that 😂 he knows Rodgers isnt a top ten qb anymore but hey James jones wasnt even a pro bowler 😂 and Justin Jefferson has more career years in 4 years than James jones in his 9 years

Jones isn’t being honest about Montana. He may have grown up in the Bay but he was too young to have watched him play AND he grew up a Raiders fan! Montana has four Super Bowls AND a college national championship. He has 3 SB MVPs and 2 regular season MVPs. Before the last 15 years when offensive numbers went crazy, he had a ton of the QB records. Also, what makes Rodgers more talented? Montana was extremely talented particularly with his accuracy and could run when he needed to but what made him special was his decision making. Let’s also not forget that Montana played in an era when QBs got destroyed still. There’s a reason why the 49ers brought in Young when Montana was still relatively young. Montana’s body was breaking down but had he played today, Montana would play into his 40s too if he wanted to.
@@frankmacias7244 most definitely. It upsets me how dismissive Jones is of Montanas "talent". As a man who grew up watching the 88/89 NFL Films tapes, no one ever questioned Joes ability. He was on a different stratosphere from 88 on...

She said he doesn't take enough chances to protect that league record TD/INT ratio. Think about Eli Manning throwing that prayer hail mary to David Tyree in Quadruple Coverage avoiding two sacks. Maybe if AR12 gave his guys more 50/50 balls and trusted them to win their matchups more, he could have had more big plays (which could have netted him more chances at bigger wins). I grew up on Dan Marino and just based on arm talent I think he was as good as Aaron Rodgers. I agree with Joy & Shady that TB12 is on another super goat level 😊
Best is about talent, greatest is about achievements. I thought that was the standard. A Rod is neither. TB the Goat and Pat is the best we've ever seen.
How so? The goat convo is a mixed bag of things. If somehow Rodger’s figured out a way to get a Super Bowl after having a subpar season, he’d enter the circle. Why? Bc he already has the MVPs and the regular season accolades. But it takes chips too. Same thing in reverse, Terry Bradshaw has 4 chips, but no one considers him the goat bc he didn’t demonstrate it during the regular season as well.
@@eric7441that doesn’t make any sense though. No one can deny Manning hurt his team with the way he played on the way to the second chip. They won in spite of him. If you can insert a terrible backup qb and have the same amount of success then that ring doesn’t mean squat. At that point it’s a participation award.
@@eric7441conversely, Bradshaw, Eli Manning, ect, did not have great regular season success but again, what matters more? Playing well when it isn’t as important or playing lights out when it’s on the biggest stages? Obviously it’s a culmination which is why Peyton Manning is in the top 10 all time because of his regular season success and talent. Same with guys like Dan Marino because we could see how good and talented he was despite never getting a ring. The overall point is, whatever you value most at the QB position as a whole, you need to keep that same train of thought all the way through.
Here's the thing though nobody takes away mannings ring and he gets praised as a 2 time champion still won 4 playoff games. The goat conversation is a rich tapestry of talent accomplishments eyetests and winning. Nobody is Brady because his winning and brain over powers elite arm talents that's why we say Mahomes doesn't need 7 because in a lot of peoples eyes he's the best player we've ever seen. Also only getting to 1 Super Bowl and having multiple collapses in the most important game of the season hurts Aaron's legacy.
@@thenorthernlowlight I know I’m one of a few people with this opinion, but I don’t consider Brady the best ever. I would still take Montana. If Aaron wins the SB this year (with the Jets mind you), it will without a doubt come with a 5th MVP. So he will become a 5x MVP, Comeback player of the year, and SB champ for 2 diff teams all at once. QBs cant win SBs alone, defense is way more important than the sports writers ever admit to.
How can you say that if he win a super bowl this year he will win mvp ? Only two QBs won mvp and super bowl in the same season so you just jumping the gun
@@kevonsidek9737 I say that because this.... If Rodgers is playing the kind of football thats hes capable of, hes usually in the MVP conversation. If the Jets are winning then that means hes probably playing pretty well. He will undoubtedly be the MVP if he takes the Jets to the playoffs with top 5 QB stats. So my point is.. IF he wins a SuperBowl this year, its probably likely that he lived up to MVP expectations during the regular season.

Troy Aikman has 3 rings. Not even a Cowboy fan thinks he is better than Rogers. This is what annoys me about the ring argument. They pick and choose when it applies.
It’s not pick and choose. It’s a combination of things. Rings aren’t all that matters but they are the most important. MVPs matter. The eye test matters. Moments/legacy matters. You can’t be the goat of the sport and continually lose. No one puts Terry Bradshaw above Peyton manning even though Bradshaw has 2 more rings. That’s not because the rings argument isn’t being applied consistently, it’s because it isn’t the only thing that matters. Peyton’s 5 MVPs hold weight. Peyton’s legacy, the tape he put out matters. But what also matters is him choking in the playoffs regardless of his regular season stats and how he looked outside of the brightest moments. That stuff is counted against him and it ought to be.
@Irie_k I'm not saying Rogers is the GOAT or in the GOAT conversation. But a blind man can see he is better than the likes of Aikman, Bradshaw, Eli, etc. They give way too much weight to rings and they pick and choose. Jim Plunkett has two rings and is an MVP of the Super Bowl. He ain't in the HoF and is never mentioned. Did you know that Elii Manning has not won a playoff game outside of those two Super Bowl runs but everyone swears he is a top tier QB. He has a .500 record.

That last question exposed Shady and Joy 🤦🏿♂️
They both had to give an answer they really ain’t ain’t want to lol
BIG TIME. Ended horribly for them lmfaoo
James Jones’s question at the end had me lmao
That last Hail Mary James threw was cold.
Shady has to agree to that nonsense. To say otherwise diminishes his two SB wins where he never played a down.
It's because the point they made about Peyton Manning

Speak is the best sports show. Great conversation even when you disagree.

Best is about talent, greatest is about achievements. I thought that was the standard.
A Rod is neither. TB the Goat and Pat is the best we've ever seen.
Joy and Shady lost all credibility with their response to the 9/17 touchdown to interception ratio.
Shady stood up there with a straight face and went if Aaron Rodgers goes 9 td - 17 int and wins a Super Bowl, he’s in the goat conversation.
cause he already has the accolades to back it up, the 2nd sb puts him in a different tier. Peyton didn't play good for the broncos during the sb but understood that he can't turn the ball over and had to have game management in order to win
Shady, dont disrespect Eli. He did more for his rings 😅
Aaron Rodgers was the best thrower of the football until we saw mahomes. Mahomes is the main reason we look at Rodgers the way we do now. His 2.0 entered the league while he was still playing and dominated
Are we forgetting the fact that winning a Super Bowl is a team accomplishment ?
And as the leader of the team… that falls on the QB…
@@AlecStephensIII It falls on the team.Being a QB doesnt automatically make you a leader.
Freaking thank you!!
@@AlecStephensIIIEli Manning has 2 Superbowl rings and beat Brady for both of them. I don't think people would say Eli is a leader or is better than Brady. If Bradys receivers never catch a all he throws does he win 7 Superbowls? Patrick Mahomes won a Superbowl won the Superbowl in spite of his receivers not being able to catch a cold.
It is really weird to use a team accomplishment to determine GOAT status. The 7 Superbowls aren't what make Brady special cuz that isn't all Brady.

What makes him special is that he’s the only qb to carry a below average defense on the offensive side of the ball multiple times
Thats not true at all😅😅
Literally patrick mahomes his first two sb wins and first loss. Well below defenses in fact
drew Brees never had a good defense and won a sb and had the saints in the playoffs

The regular season absolutely means nothing to the media 😂 I understand the playoffs matters more, but it’s insane to me how 17 games a year means 💩 if you lose ONE in the playoffs. Football is wild
yea, you’re right, it’s wild.. that’s a ton of pressure on every possession and every play.. and the pressure ratchets up at every stage.. you can look good in shorts - next level, pads -> preseason -> regular season -> postseason -> multiple postseasons.. just a constant test that gets harder and harder.. until you’re Tom Brady in a room with a handful of athletes that don’t even play your sport lol..
It’s not that the other stuff doesn’t matter.. like, I didn’t even play HS football, so it’s all cool to me lol.. but everyone starts out wanting to sit in that Brady room.. so it’s really them setting their own standards.. we’re just reminders of where they are on that climb..
Thats only the narrative because of Dak Prescott
This show do not need 2 shady's please get rite of one then shady or joy flip a coin
Regular season matters but when it comes to GOAT debates... the playoffs are what separates them. I can't put a guy that has only 1 SB in the GOAT convo. Now he will make the HOF easy just on his 4 MVPs alone but GOAT convo nahhhhh I can't do that
@@nobleskywalker4639 u missed the whole point of this comment.. .
It feels like some of us are already forgetting just how good Rodgers was, even a couple years ago. He would've won more SBs if he would've had top defenses through his career. He kept them in contention without great teams besides a couple of players. This is coming from a Bears fan. I had to watch him beat us all the time.
I'm a bears fan too, the only thing I can say is the NFC North was or is a weak decision....to me...with basically the Packers dominating for 6 easy wins each year. I know the other teams are getting better now though.
Defenses ain’t got nothing to do with it cuz aaron rodgers underperformed a lot of times in the playoffs he had some bad games where he was the direct reason they lost stop blaming his defenses
They won’t appreciate him until he retires. They’re all for Mahomes while an all time great also has a hall of fame coach. Where you land also matters. Rodgers was the reason the packers were even contenders for these years.
@@kevonsidek9737I see only 3-2 playoffs games where he probably lost them the game due to bad play...It was some other playoffs game where he underperformed but his average play didn't lose them those games..it more so the defenses letting up touchdown walk offs... game winning field goals...or 35 points in some of those games.

Tom Brady will throw his rings down, all time TDs down, all time yards down, all time completions down LOL. James Jones got Jeff George as second greatest QB since he he could throw 80 yards. What a talent.
All of Aaron's numbers are better than Tom's. Reg season and playoffs
@GODISGREAT_12 stop taking drugs, bruh. It makes you look stupid. Who has most TDs, Passing yards, and most important wins.
Shady is rude. Especially towards JJ. Undermines him any chance he gets, every week.

Joy finds Dan Marino a GOAT because she’s a dolphins fan but how’s he a GOAT when he has no SB ring. Joy have the nerve to talk trash about Aaron Rodgers. Who has a SB ring and 4 MVPs
They just don't like aaron rodgers. They keep moving the goal post
i am a Brady fan, but when Peyton won that 2nd SB (i am aware of the 9 TDs/17 INTs ratio) that put him into another category. He is now a multiple SB winning QB and gets past the ones with only a single SB. There are not many 2+ SB winners. Mix that with his stats and now he rises up the list. Same thing will be for Rodgers
Rodgers was great in the regular season, but when the playoffs come around he always comes up short. Just look at his playoff record.
Hey joy….. it’s the eye test! We can see talent. That’s the difference
The only people who ever thought he was in the conversation were his fan boys. How about the fact that he not only hasn't won another superbowl, but hasn't even gotten there since his defense carried him there a decade and a half ago.
Hasn’t had the defense in forever his playoff stats r good and if u look at his playoff resume and see how many points he puts up u would c his losses r rarely on him
@joshuag5865 he's either 8 and 7 or 7 and 8 in the playoffs. If you are truly elite at the qb position and belonged in the conversation with Mahomes, Brady, Manning, Montana etc. then that wouldn't be the case.
@@kylelenertz5509 that is the case Peyton manning and tom Brady has always had great defense and mahomes these past 2 defenses his defense was the main thing and always coming up clutch
This conversation is boring and illogical. They’re arguing and trying to make a point with different parameters. If you agree on the parameters there’s a logical option. If you disagree on the parameters it’s a pointless conversation. This is so boring to listen to and watch. Two terms to add to your vocabulary. Objective and Subjective. If this conversation is subjective it’s pointless. You just like the feeling of being right but objectively you’re wrong and right about nothing. It’s just your opinion. I’ve had too many of these foolish conversations in the past to not learn from my mistakes. This conversation and many others are the reason why sports tv shows lose the interest of their fan bases. This is just like telling a mom that her only son is not her favorite son.
Brees the greatest with one Super Bowl
Did James say Aaron is better than Montana 😩
