No hate, just a correction: Eugenia didn't decide to admit herself to rehab. Jaclyn Glenn with friends invited Eugenia over to her apartment, and there had professionals run tests on her and sent her to mandatory rehab. I think this is an important detail, because as soon as Eugenia was back home, she relapsed. A very sad story. I wish recovery upon Eugenia, but I think we all carry a responsibility on what example we set online. She is a victim to whatever pushed her into an ED, but she dismisses genuine concern, which is self-destructive.

It is sadly very common within the ED world to have a time of proana promia and watching Eugenia's videos. I was there many years ago. EDs are an addiction that are heavily fueled by competition and striving to be thinner while surrounding yourself with thinspo and learning more ways to become worse. I have been in treatment myself and a large part of the way I got better was because I haven't watched Eugenia's videos for many many years now, aka not diving into that proana promia content. This is a common theme I have heard from many other people I have met.
As someone who has struggled with food and my own body image and self esteem, Eugenia IS TRIGGERING!! She knows she is triggering young teens and older teens with her content, her comments under her videos will explain this. I used to be in discords that were proana and I’m not lying when I say that images and videos of thin or anorexic girls/guys MAKE ANOREXIA WORSE AND MAKE THE DISORDER WORSE!! Several of the discord users in the proana discord posted anorexic and thin girls and guys to make us “work harder” and “feel inspired” to keep starving.
I do believe she needs to stop uploading videos with the way she looks, and seek help immediately! It’s clear her mother doesn’t care either and her, if she did she would be urging her daughter to get help asap, or call recovery places to urge her to do the right thing and eat more. Again, as someone who has struggled with my body image and anorexia/bulimia, and still sort of do to this day, having people actually WANT YOU to get help can help anorexics feel seen, feel heard, and feel loved and cared for, and helps them want to seek help. Anorexia isn’t just a disorder in of itself; depression, low self esteem, and anxiety are involved that make the disorder flourish and worsen. Having a care team like friends, family, and facilities that want us to get better can increase validation and self esteem.
I’m not trying to encourage any sort of hate towards Eugenia here, but her content post rehab has upset a lot of people who struggle with eating disorders for a good reason. It is sadly very common within the ED world to have a time of proana promia and watching Eugenia's videos. I was there many years ago. EDs are an addiction that are heavily fueled by competition and striving to be thinner while surrounding yourself with thinspo and learning more ways to become worse. I have been in treatment myself and a large part of the way I got better was because I haven't watched Eugenia's videos for many many years now, aka not diving into that proana promia content. This is a common theme I have heard from many other people I have met.

As someone who has struggled with food and my own body image and self esteem, Eugenia IS TRIGGERING!! She knows she is triggering young teens and older teens with her content, her comments under her videos will explain this. I used to be in discords that were proana and I’m not lying when I say that images and videos of thin or anorexic girls/guys MAKE ANOREXIA WORSE AND MAKE THE DISORDER WORSE!! Several of the discord users in the proana discord posted anorexic and thin girls and guys to make us “work harder” and “feel inspired” to keep starving.
I do believe she needs to stop uploading videos with the way she looks, and seek help immediately! It’s clear her mother doesn’t care either and her, if she did she would be urging her daughter to get help asap, or call recovery places to urge her to do the right thing and eat more. Again, as someone who has struggled with my body image and anorexia/bulimia, and still sort of do to this day, having people actually WANT YOU to get help can help anorexics feel seen, feel heard, and feel loved and cared for, and helps them want to seek help. Anorexia isn’t just a disorder in of itself; depression, low self esteem, and anxiety are involved that make the disorder flourish and worsen. Having a care team like friends, family, and facilities that want us to get better can increase validation and self esteem.
