If this band doesnot make it into the Musical Hall of Fame, I am going to want to know why, they are fantastic artists, multi talented, and have the best female leads in the business I swear.

they need to do a back to back FLOOR and TARJA on that one IMO. since the song is only a few seconds over 5 minutes. heheh
@@The_Pony Floor's rendition on it is the ultimate imho.. she just killed that song. Still she is a true metal singer and this experience has its impact.
This woman made me loving Nightwish, and THAT is a miracle.
On going down in the comments, I found that I'm the only one who loved both Tarja and Floor's version. Both have different textures. Where Tarja gives operatic feel on the other hand Floor gave her own clean vocals. The best thing about Floor is that she don't try to imitate Tarja.
I mentioned it. But I also point out that on the End of an Era show, Tarja is clearly lipsyncing parts of the song.

Nightwish - " ROMANTICIDE " - Live at wacken 2013
People associate Tuomas' lyrics too much with her and Tarja's relationship. Sure, there's a good amount of that in the songs too, but the vast majority of them, including this one, are about Tuomas' longing to go back in time to his childhood, because of his self-stated escapist nature (in fact, they have a song called "Escapist" that covers that in its entirety pretty well). And they do have songs about more specific topics as well. But I feel a lot of people try too hard to make everything he ever wrote seem like some kinda "hidden love letter" to Tarja. As I said, there's that stuff in there too definitely, but not nearly as much as people make it out to be. People are just bad at looking deeper into the lyrics.
As far as a Tarja live song, I suggest "Slaying the Dreamer" from End of an Era. It's probably one of her better live performances. And unlike "Phantom of the Opera" which everyone keeps suggesting, it's actually their own song and has far more lyrical content to talk about.

Sorry guys, but this kind of love Tuomas supposedly had for Tarja is just nonexistent.
This song is about Tuomas wanting his innocence back (which is a VERY recurring theme for Tuomas)

I really think Romanticide from the same Wacken concert will blow your minds, specially Foor Jansen. Her vocal performance in that song was INSANE. Mark my words, guys. Remember what i say. Plus, the bass player sings a lot in that song so you will discover more of his vocal range.

Not sure about other festivals, but at Wacken they easily let you come back to the audience after crowdsurfing. It happens all the time and it's amazing. Only downside is having to look behind all the time to see if someone's coming

That is literally one of her best live performances ever. Which makes it legally one of the best metal performances

When are you guys going to react to Floor's original band, After Forever. In my opinion they rock way harder than Nightwish, and I adore Nightwish

funfact to this video Floor was Backstage in previous song change clothing, previous song without her. but the Band startet to fast, so Floor runs to her Mic, a little late about a half beat!! you can see it right before she starts to sing.
Unfortunately I missed the Tarja era because I didn't discover Nightwish until 5 years ago. I love this band, they are awesome live. I have seen them 4 times live! Most recently in March of this year. Thank you for reacting to them again. Oh, and a Nightwish audience is not a normal metal audience. I have been in the pit for all 4 shows and the crowd has been very courteous when it comes to letting people get their spot back after crowd surfing, or getting beer or going to the restroom. :D

Yes yes YES! More and more Nightwish! I understand you want to do some with Tarja and you should! But you will not find any better frontwoman in rock or metal than Floor IMO. Her stage presence is absolutely untouchable. And that voice...... just wow!
Funfact: check this and will see the music actually stops after the initial opening. If you look carefully, you see floor running out then start singing. She was in back changing from her pants to the skirt she comes out wearing !!!

Listen here! "Bless the child", "Come cover me", "end of all hope" and "ever dream" will always be Tarjas songs. Floor is an amazing singer, but The songs that were written while Tarja was in the band are written for her more operatic style. Sure Floor is great, but those songs were not written for her.

Not all of their songs are about Christianity or Tomas and Tarja drama.
This song was released in 2002.
Tarja Turunen was in the band from 96-05
Anette Olzon was in the band from 07-12
Floor Jansen is in the band from 12-present
You should try Sleeping Sun from Tampere - it is a fantastic performance where the audience are almost in trance.

The first song i heard from Nightwish.This was in 2002... A week later i see them playing live in Rio de Janeiro. From that, my admiration for the band only grew.

It started as a one man side project when he had 2 other bands to work on. On 1st album Tuomas played every instrument and produced it too. He also make Wolfheart's videos.

Honestly, you gotta react to Ghost Love Score or/and The Poet and the Pendulum in Wacken 2013. The energy and quality they had was EPIC
Tarja didn't leave, she was fired in quite a horrible way and this song is about Tuomas's longing for childhood. The line "Why am I loved only when I'm gone" is about the fact that most adults look back on their childhood with nostalgia but as children we don't really know how to appreciate our lives, children are always talking about wanting to grow up and doing 'adult' things so for me this song is about people looking back at the earlier years with love and appreciation for what they've lost: innocence, wonder, curiosity, seeing the world in a certain way. "Bless this child for they don't know what they have until it's gone."
If you wanna do a Tarja song, maybe do Gethsemane (this is my all-time favourite NW song) or Swanheart.

Floor is one of the best, it not, the best female singer from the Netherlands.
She leaves all other female pop, r&b, rock and metal singers from the Netherlands far behind.
She is also very versatile, from operatic to growling.
She can do it all.
And metal people really are that relaxed.
Even the regular joe can move through the crowd saying excuse me or a friendly hand on the shoulder.
99% of the people will let you pass.
The more aggressive the music,the more relaxed the people are.

I got over the Beatles never getting back together, everybody take a deep breath and let it go, Tarja was the past and Flor is now.
This doesn’t make it a this or that option, they are both awesome for their own reasons.
Liking one shouldn’t make you hate the other.
The constant comparisons belittle the band, the music, and the overall great experience of NightWish.
I personally perfer Flor because she has a very versatile voice giving a more Rock vibe to their songs and that’s what “I” like.
Every singer they’ve had has had certain songs that embraces their voice better than the others, enjoy the diversity.

Jesus I love this band, I got to see them live a few months ago in BC! Dig deeper into their catalog, they have SOO many good songs. They are SO HUGE in Europe, its stage to seem them tour the US and play in small Theaters.
