Drakes are Special in Dragons Dogma, some Breath Fire, some Breath ice, some breath even wind infused with thunder and some even can cast spells with their claws and it seems like we get some new Drakes in DD2 too like one that breaths Poison and so on
Isn’t each one basically an angel? Like someone who tried to challenge ‘God’, failed and got transformed into a ‘divine’ servant? I initially thought only the Dragon was like that but in the post game before Everfall there’s a new Drake/Wyrm/Wyvern all with unique dialogue that made it seem like they were part of the cycle. Wyvern even has lines like he’s freaking out why he’s suddenly in a dragon body. But at the same time I don understand how they come to be if all the ‘challengers’ become Grigori type dudes, and there’s only one of him at a time… then how do the lesser dragons exist?
Honestly the Talos looks very interesting. Something that can destroy landmarks and structures? Seemingly uninterested in the Arisen just to cause damage to the land? Very curious to see how that enemy works. Definitely what I’m excited for.

I did forget about the Sphinx, my bad. With regards to the Dragon (Gregori), I did a video on Dragons about a week ago, which covers it specifically in some detail, so didn't really want to rehash here, but you right, another confirmed monster coming to the game, no doubt.
Really hope the hydra makes a return as well. And it’s more a real time dynamic fight like mostly the rest of the monsters rather than being more of a cinematic set piece spectacle in the original game, granted a pretty good set piece but a set piece nonetheless.
my favourite monster (it wasnt mentioned) has to be the sphinx. it gives such an uncanny feeling and it's gaze really pierces my soul. i've always to play DDON to fight it but never got the chance.

@@Gaming_AnalyticThat’s awesome that you managed to collate all of what they’ve put out! I’m a big DD fan but only knew a quarter of this new stuff! ^^ thanks so much for the research you did!
Too many incredible choices to pick just one, but I'd say I'm most excited about the Sphinx, Minotaurs, and Medusa. As a wise man once said: "They're masterworks, all. You can't go wrong!"
Not in the video but I am most excited about the Sphinx. I will scour every nook and cranny of the whole map just to find her and marvel at her beauty (and also maybe kill her if I can). Medusa would be my second choice. Medusa already exists in Dragon's Dogma Quest and Online, although the online one is just a Lich with snakes for hair.
The way that the Sphinx turns its head, with those big round eyes in your face when engaged in dialog... hmmww. Makes me so uncomfortable, animations are on point. Medusa should be a very interesting fight, will have to ask my mate Perseus for a couple of battle tactics :).
I've been looking forward to Minotaurs for so long as one of my favorite monsters of Greek Mythology and now we're finally getting full fledged minotaurs Dark Arisen gave us a poor version as the Executioner.
DD1 was crazy fun for me and DD2 looks to be on a whole other level. The Dullahan and Minotaur look sick, and so do the rest of the roster. However, for me, the Drakes take the top position, especially considering the combat style you have to employ during their challenging aerial and ground assaults.
If I remember correctly, Drakes could cancel all abilities... making them a royal pain in the ass to deal with. Hopefully we wont have to wait for more than a decade after this one for some more DD.
@@Gaming_Analytic Lol, a proper pain in the ass indeed it was. The game is easily a Capcom classic, and I always thought it was strange they didn't capitalize on it like their other classics, such as the MHunter, REvil and SFighter series. When I first saw the DD2 announcement, I was shocked and stoked at the same time because I thought it was just a one-and-done, considering the time frame from the first one. I'm excited to see how we're supposed to fight the Medusa, like is its petrifaction an attack, do we have to have special equipment to look at it or we have to keep it's head out of the camera view etc
I’m guessing having petrification resistance or pawns that can cure ailments will be vital. She’ll be just as difficult as the cockatrice if you’re not prepared, if not worse
She’ll probably have a move where she casts petrify, a few enemies in the first game did iirc Cockatrice, fallen pawns and I think one of the very late game undead bosses did too. You can cure it with tonics and what not. And it’s not instant, it makes you slower and slower and slower and slower until you finally can’t move and die. Doubt it’s gonna actually be like a look at her inflicts it.
Hoping to see what else comes to life during the night cycles. I hope we see something like nuckelavee or the black dog, things associated with death that will actively hunt you down, like death at bitterblack isle

The one I left out ;( So sorry about that. I did watch the IGN First interview with the team, the Sphinx does look awesome. I may just answer all of the riddles incorrectly on purpose, just to pick a fight with it.
There will be much more enemies than these 22 in the game, even the original had more monsters than that, especially together with Dark Arisen. Every Enemy have most likely again just like DD1 some kind of Early Game and Late to Post Game Version. Examples: Early Game = Griffin Late Game = Cockatrice Early Game = Cyclops Post Game = Gore Cyclops Early Game = Ogre Post Game = Elder Ogre Early Game = Wight Late Game = Dark Bishop/ Lich Post Game = Banshees & Death Early Game = Wolves Mid Game = Dire Wolves Late Game = Hellhounds Post Game = Wargs Early game = Undeads Mid Game = Undead Knights Late Game =Silver/ Gold Knights Post Game = Eliminators Early Game = Harpies Mid Game = Snow Harpies Late Game = Gargoyles Post Game = Succubi & Strigoi Early game = Goblins Mid Game = Hobgoblins Late Game = Grimgoblins Post Game = Shaman Goblins Early Game = Zombies Late Game = Explosive Zombies Early Game = Hydra Post Game = Archhydra Early Game = Evil Eyes Post Game = Gazers & Observers Late Game = Drakes & Wyrms Post Game = Wyverns and Cursed Dragons Early Game = Saurians Mid Game = Sulfur Saurians Late Game = Salamanders Post Game = Giant Saurians Early Game = Hostile Thieves & Rogues Mid Game = Hostile Soldiers & Mystic Knights Late Game = Hostile Necromancers Post Game = Corrupted Pawns Early Game = Rock Golem Late Game = Iron Golem Early Game = Ghosts Mid Game = Spectres Late game = Phantoms Early Game = Chimera Late Game = Gore Chimera Alone these examples are like more than double as much easily as what we have seen so far in DD2 and DD2 is the game, which claims to be 2-4x the size of DDDA, so we can expect alot more monsters in the game, especially alot NEW monsters we haven seen before in DD1, but for example in DDO or as unused concepts that never foudn their way into the game. New Monsters and such we have seen from DDO, which likely found all their way back into DD2 are for example: - Medusi/Gorgons - Slimes - Sphinx - Trolls - Orcs - Minotaurs - Witches - Behemoths - Giants - Manticores - Ents/Treants What I'd love to see getting added are: - Giant Spiders/Scorpions/Wasps/Crabs/Beetles/Moths/Ants - Werewolves/Vampires - Bears & Lions/Tigers/Panthers/Cheetahs, not only Wolves - Basilisks - Demons/Half Demons - more Plant Monsters, like maneating giant flowers with poisonous vines ect. - Elemental Spirits - Centaurs - Death/Fallen Angels, wheres demons, there has to be also Angels :D and not all of them are always friendly. Which brings me to the point, that id love to see in DD2 also monsters fight agaisnt each other, not always only against the player..so should ever angels meet on demons/undeads , they should priorize to fight each other, instead of the Arisen first as they are each others absolute nemesis. Trolls/orcs for example shoudl fight all kinds of Goblins ,or each other too also so shoudl do also Saurians, which should be just hostile towards everything. Thats somethign I found in DD1 a bit uncreative, because there was basically always everythign just hostile agaisnt us, never something hostile against an other enemy. It woudl make DD2 so much more realistic n trustworthy, if there are also enemies, which are hostile versus each other this time.
Thanks Christian... this is a massive list of super useful information. Inspired me with a couple of new ideas for content. You're certainly getting a special mention as soon as one of these vids are up.
Wow I hope to see those Gore Cyclops again from Dark Arisen they were so cool to battle and took a lot of effort bringing one of those things down. I'm really looking forward to the Sphynx and trying to solve her riddles and having her look at me in that creepy way that will no doubt have me doubting my own decisions haha. But in all honesty I'm really looking forward to this game gonna be taking 2 weeks off work for this one that's for sure.
Strangely enough, ogres of this world seem to get excited by the presence of men or women. It seems to depend on the gender of your Arisen. I remember ogres getting excited in the presence women because my Arisen was male. The opposite happened when I created a new Arisen who was female.
iirc first game Ogres liked to get the women and the Elders liked to get the men. When I first saw Goblin Slayer it made me think of the Dragon’s Dogma Ogres getting ‘excited’ by the smell of a female, then grabbing one of your female party members and scampering away into the dark with her.
Forgive me for asking, but you use a term a number of times that sounds like "verocious", and I'm uncertain if you're meaning "ferocious" or "voracious", or something else entirely. Could you please clarify. Other than that, nice work at compiling the footage and information on both new and returning monsters. Thank you in advance.
My favourite monster is cursed dragons because it looks cool and scary at the same time, fun to fight against, its not annaying as drakes because when they roar, they cancel all abiliies, and i dont like wyvwrns either becuase they just spam magic attacks and man its so annoying. And last thing is you can dragonforge anything %55 chance if its 1 star upgraded
@@Gaming_Analytic lol wouldn't say that for myself but ya know how there's a rare instance where a drake or a spirit will possess your pawn? And you have to hit them or knock em out to fix them? Having zombie bites affect your pawns would surely mix things up. Imagine underestimating a small group of zombies, then BOOM your pawn is a zombie and you have to kill them and go back to the rift to bring em back. Awesome element if it exists
I hope they made enemies tougher because in the first game, once you reach a very high level, the game just becomes way too easy. Everything is pretty much a one-shot, including boss fights (cough) Senechal. Even jumping off a cliff doesn't k ill you 😂
Hopefully ther will be some level of rubber banding or enemy scaling. Its a difficult thing to get right though... Progression should still feel meaningful but also present a challenge.
Underwhelming af, tons of returning monsters you already fought trillions of times and dont even get a complete AI and moveset overhaul, Talos looks like a boring ass "fight" where you just chip away at a huge piñata, few new enemies, combat is as clunky and dated as the first game, and no freaking coop lol

A very popular choice. One of my favs also.
@@Gaming_Analytic makes sense i like how unique it is its eerie and also captivating
Im so ready to fight The dullaham..wish he was riding a horse and using human spine as a weapon like in the myths
and the sqhinx will be interesting
Hi Should... Your version of the dullaham is f-ing terifying. Lol. I probably could have included the Sphinx,
We need to see if she respawns
Same wuth medusa
I think she might spawn only once for each location and they will be more to find
Did u watch the latest ign ?
I’m excited for the Sphinx fight(s)
The one I left out ;( So sorry about that. I did watch the IGN First interview with the team, the Sphinx does look awesome. I may just answer all of the riddles incorrectly on purpose, just to pick a fight with it.
There will be much more enemies than these 22 in the game, even the original had more monsters than that, especially together with Dark Arisen.
Every Enemy have most likely again just like DD1 some kind of Early Game and Late to Post Game Version.
Examples:
Early Game = Griffin
Late Game = Cockatrice
Early Game = Cyclops
Post Game = Gore Cyclops
Early Game = Ogre
Post Game = Elder Ogre
Early Game = Wight
Late Game = Dark Bishop/ Lich
Post Game = Banshees & Death
Early Game = Wolves
Mid Game = Dire Wolves
Late Game = Hellhounds
Post Game = Wargs
Early game = Undeads
Mid Game = Undead Knights
Late Game =Silver/ Gold Knights
Post Game = Eliminators
Early Game = Harpies
Mid Game = Snow Harpies
Late Game = Gargoyles
Post Game = Succubi & Strigoi
Early game = Goblins
Mid Game = Hobgoblins
Late Game = Grimgoblins
Post Game = Shaman Goblins
Early Game = Zombies
Late Game = Explosive Zombies
Early Game = Hydra
Post Game = Archhydra
Early Game = Evil Eyes
Post Game = Gazers & Observers
Late Game = Drakes & Wyrms
Post Game = Wyverns and Cursed Dragons
Early Game = Saurians
Mid Game = Sulfur Saurians
Late Game = Salamanders
Post Game = Giant Saurians
Early Game = Hostile Thieves & Rogues
Mid Game = Hostile Soldiers & Mystic Knights
Late Game = Hostile Necromancers
Post Game = Corrupted Pawns
Early Game = Rock Golem
Late Game = Iron Golem
Early Game = Ghosts
Mid Game = Spectres
Late game = Phantoms
Early Game = Chimera
Late Game = Gore Chimera
Alone these examples are like more than double as much easily as what we have seen so far in DD2 and DD2 is the game, which claims to be 2-4x the size of DDDA, so we can expect alot more monsters in the game, especially alot NEW monsters we haven seen before in DD1, but for example in DDO or as unused concepts that never foudn their way into the game.
New Monsters and such we have seen from DDO, which likely found all their way back into DD2 are for example:
- Medusi/Gorgons
- Slimes
- Sphinx
- Trolls
- Orcs
- Minotaurs
- Witches
- Behemoths
- Giants
- Manticores
- Ents/Treants
What I'd love to see getting added are:
- Giant Spiders/Scorpions/Wasps/Crabs/Beetles/Moths/Ants
- Werewolves/Vampires
- Bears & Lions/Tigers/Panthers/Cheetahs, not only Wolves
- Basilisks
- Demons/Half Demons
- more Plant Monsters, like maneating giant flowers with poisonous vines ect.
- Elemental Spirits
- Centaurs
- Death/Fallen Angels, wheres demons, there has to be also Angels :D and not all of them are always friendly.
@@Gaming_Analytic ;)
Wow I hope to see those Gore Cyclops again from Dark Arisen they were so cool to battle and took a lot of effort bringing one of those things down. I'm really looking forward to the Sphynx and trying to solve her riddles and having her look at me in that creepy way that will no doubt have me doubting my own decisions haha. But in all honesty I'm really looking forward to this game gonna be taking 2 weeks off work for this one that's for sure.
If you no life it for two weeks... You should just be able to 100% it :)
What about the sphinx?
Slipped my mind...
Let’s go!!!
Medusa but i think this monster will be at boss level and not a regular foe.
Strangely enough, ogres of this world seem to get excited by the presence of men or women. It seems to depend on the gender of your Arisen. I remember ogres getting excited in the presence women because my Arisen was male. The opposite happened when I created a new Arisen who was female.
I was not aware of that... very interesting, thanks Constellasian.
Yeah I think it was normal ogres that were attracted to women and elder ogres were attracted to men
iirc first game Ogres liked to get the women and the Elders liked to get the men.
When I first saw Goblin Slayer it made me think of the Dragon’s Dogma Ogres getting ‘excited’ by the smell of a female, then grabbing one of your female party members and scampering away into the dark with her.
yeah that's it, it was such a shock when the elder one targeted me the first time @@SnakeInTheRain
Hahaha...
Soo hyped for the game just wishing there will be a discount soon 😂
Lol... well you could get a copy for free if you win one in the channel giveaway ;P. Best of luck.
I probably meant Ferocious StarGeezer. Cant event read my own script 100% correctly. LOL!
It's with a heavy heart that I have to report that leapworms are back... Hate it!
Canceling my pre-order immediately :). Where did you see them LlefelysC?
@@Gaming_Analytic I saw those in the trailer of IGN: Dragon's Dogma 2's Sphinx (outside of Bitterblack)
@@LlefelysC I completely missed that!!!
What do you mean harpies have wingspans of nearly 20 feet my dude
Lol!
Wolves hunt in packs!
chimeras, one of the cooler mythological creatures.
Couldn't agree more Jon!
hope my boi the COCKtrice is still in the game
NiCE capitalization ... Lol
All tough fights requiring different tactics. Can't believe we are still more than 2 months out... what can I research next :)
Wolves since they always hunt in packs
You forgot the Sphinx!
I know... Ahhhh!!!!
Even though the Sphinx is one of this games feature attractions it has nothing to do with the progression of the main game.
i can't. wait
I’ve already preordered wen is it released
A true connoisseur... Do still want a entry? You can always gift it to someone if you win...
It would be awesome if zombies could turn your pawns
Zombie Pawn... Sounds like a whole new fetish :p
@@dmonsterlove I LOVE the idea... Adds an additional risk to consider when fighting the Zombo's
@@Gaming_Analytic wish more people could see this comment
@@dmonsterlove Do you want to get me banned from TH-cam ;)
Suscribing justo to see more videos like this when the game comes out 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks Cesar. Welcome to the channel. :)
bro theres just one R in chimera
Thank you Zanuka.
If this game doesn’t run at 60fps I won’t buy it 30fps with realistic graphics hurts my head
I really didnt need to see the number of monsters in the game
The best monsters are hell hounds lol
Those doggo's just need a bit of love... Where is the dog whisperer when you need him. :)
Cool 😂😂
I hope they made enemies tougher because in the first game, once you reach a very high level, the game just becomes way too easy. Everything is pretty much a one-shot, including boss fights (cough) Senechal. Even jumping off a cliff doesn't k ill you 😂
Hopefully ther will be some level of rubber banding or enemy scaling. Its a difficult thing to get right though... Progression should still feel meaningful but also present a challenge.
I have to choose between this and rise of the ronin. I cant drop 140$ in one day on games lol. I wanna play thia so bad
If your lucky, you may only need to buy one... Then your only problem is going to be having time playing both.
@Gaming_Analytic we'll see! Lol thanks for the awesome video man. Loved learning about all the monsterology.
Drakes ❤
Hell yeah...!
hello
Griffin
Click baited me so hard I wanted to see actual monster gameplay and fucking shows me drawings
Sorry you feel that way.
I am NEVER buying this game. it removed all of the things that made Dragons dogma dark arisen special!
Chin up champ 👍
Why do you say Crimera [krīˈmerə] it's [kīˈmirə]
Its a booboo... English is not my first language so there will be a linguistic of phonetic mistake here and there.
