Hey! So I'm the person who posted that comment in your previous video about Jackie's heart being his garage, that you commented on in your Misty video! 😃 Just wanted to let you know since you said you couldn't find the comment before. Thanks for covering Misty, she's a great character, and thanks for the shoutout to my comment. It made my day 😁
AHHHHH HIIII! Thank you so much for both saying this and also for your initial comment ❤ truly, it was a beautiful perspective! Totally changed how I looked at that whole quest, which was already heart wrenching enough! Lol!
@@lydiscott No problem! 🤣I'm happy my words had that impact on you. 🙂 I love the Garage scene for so many reasons. One, because I had this visual bug where every time I opened the door, Jackie's bike would literally be bouncing in place, and it always made me think of an eager puppy who knew he was about to be let out to play outside. His bike became my favorite mode of transportation because of that. Sadly one of the recent patches seemed to have fixed that wonderful bug, le sigh. Also because I loved the way they layered Jackie's garage. The outer room was the stuff that was basically surface level, exterior Jackie, stuff that everyone would think he'd be into, based on his history. Lifting weights, boxing, bikes, hot pinup girls, booze, etc. But to truly learn about what made Jackie who he was, you have to go into the inner room. Then you see the things about his father, Misty, some of his more esoteric jobs he's done, and the things he earned from them. The baby shark, the rare bottle of alcohol, etc. It's just such a fantastic use of environmental storytelling for a character, in a posthumous setting.
Evelyn's Story to me is the soul of Night City. She's the warning of the city, what can be done to protect those you love, what the city will do to you in its best and worst ways. I legit shed tears when she was found in Judy's apartment.
Jackie's dad was abusive to Jackie and his mom .. Vic taught Jackie to box and the last time he started in on Jackie's mom Jackie put him in the hospital , he lived but never went back home ..
Honestly i do like that idea that Vik is the one who helped Jackie learn how to defend himself IN ORDER for him to get his dad to leave. Vik seems like a father figure to him, even if we don't see too much interaction between the two characters in the final game.

Another interesting detail about Evelyn is how she reacts when corpo V tells her that Kompeki is better in Japan. I am usually served a look of bewilderment when I tell people I am convinced that some of the best writers of our time work for video game companies. It’s fantastic that someone is out there taking more of an in-depth look at the storytelling of games like this, from a place acknowledging the craft of the writing itself - I’ve learned a lot of interesting tidbits of info too: like T-Bug’s attempt at humour. I got the game not all that long ago and I've played over 250 hours, and haven't finished the main story yet. But I do every single side quest, I've played male and female v ( mainly female v, I just prefer her seriousness/corpo style). The random tiny bits of story, the insanely immersive world. I have played MANY games for days, or a week straight. But this game, it's strangely more real then anything I've ever seen. The relationship quest with Judy, and the messages you get from her and her grandma. It's the closest I've ever come to being truly immersed, in a cyberspace of my own. The mechanics, the design of night city, the fact that there's still bits of a light in a city where there's no reason to be good, it feels human. and the music is completely intertwined with the auror this game puts out. Games can easily engage your mind, give you dopamine and excitement. This game engages your heart. That's so incredibly rare, even since games were invented.
One thing I found kind of funny about Jackie on a recent playthrough, is when you go to All Foods to get the Flathead. When you go into the elevator, Jackie makes a point to say "Stay cool V, remember we're on THEIR turf here". And then what does he do literally not 1 minute later? Acts all tough and "alpha male" about refusing to sit down, and pretty much instantly brings the entire situation to a head, where V is the one who has to cool things down. 🤣 I dunno why but I just found that an amusing bit of ".....REALLY Jackie! REALLY?!? What did you JUST say?!"

I love these backstory lore drops u do on the Cyberpunk verse. And It brings joy to my heart that youre so passionate about the topic. Keep up the amazing work!
I think T-Bug is alive and well on her adventures. We never see a body and the only confirmation of her death is by a person who would have been “close” to T-Bug by virtue of doing business, which also means they aren’t above taking eddies to tell a story. After T-Bug cracks the security there is no reason for her to stay connected to the system. She was reasonably sure these two would screw up somehow and this was her escape plan.
I found (by going through the voice lines) that the game has branching storylines depending on the choices you make. For example, T-Bug was still on the line when Evelyn asks V to betray Dex. T-Bug and Dex will only betray V if he doesn't tell them that Evelyn wants to cut them out of the deal.

I enjoyed your video on the characters analysis. I’ve played all 3 types of story lines, as Nomad, StreetKid, and Corpo. I’m on my 4th run now, as a corpo taking my time to uncover all the mysteries that I missed. One thing that probably doesn’t have significance, is Barry’s turtle(Andrew). Maybe the turtle dying was a sign of what was to come, because everyone rushing to get to the top, and make a name for themselves…but as we all know, the turtle wins the race. 😎
Thesw cyberpunk vids have been some of my favorite lore dives. I love this game and have many hours in it. I'm in a playthrough currently. And I'll still find something new either here or in game. So much to find!
One of the things I love about the main story quest is that our V isn't really the hero, nor is Jackie. The actual hero is Yorinobu, our V is just a small fry who manages to stumble through and ruin everyone's best laid plans. Even if we get to know all the fixers and get all the good gigs, V is still just a merc, an odd jobs contractor. I really like not being "the commander", "the general", "the champion" or any of the other unearned monickers both SRPGs and MMORPGs seem to hand out like candy these days. Cyberpunk's stories and characters are refreshing.
@@cookdislander4372To give the crux of why some people call Yorinobu a hero, with which I'm inclined to agree, is that everything he does in the game seems to be for destroying Arasaka from within and stop Saburo from continuing his plans. As a small example as to how evil the old man was: we can decrypt a shard in Saburo's AV which tells us, how he was genuinly considering just nuking Night City off the map. Who know what would've happened, if Yorinobu didn't flatline his father.
@teldarin7557 oh yeah true! . . . 4 playthroughs in and almost 500hrs I should know this. I read every shard lmao. My mates just run around shooting anything that moves with no backstory on any of the gigs etc. they are doing. Along as you have fun I guess
Heroic? Debatable. Misguided? Almost certainly. Yorinobu is a scion of one of the premier business dynasties of the timeline, he is insanely well read and educated, he is almost 90 years old and has spent all those years at the highest echelons of this world. If his plan to destroy Arasaka is genuine instead of taking power to reform it, he is less than naive. He is stupid. Yorinobu lives in a world that has experienced, and he has probably studied in depth, four Corporate Wars. Two of them were fought over the remnants of two Corporations. Nature abhors a vacuum as they say. Destroying Arasaka changes nothing in the grand scheme of things and probably causes far more suffering than I would attribute to someone that is to be described as "heroic"
@@johnecoapollo7 Great point, that's a new perspective for me. The question is though, how long would Yorinobu stay in power if he presumably sacrificed profit in the pursuit of reformation? At least destruction is quick and shakes up the world, making space for change.
I just finished this as I had to break up my viewing time into four segments. You did a fantastic job and showed that a lot of study and insight went into this video. I must admit that I put a lot of playtime into CP2077 (retirement has its perks), and just went into the shallow end of the lore, character, and story pool. Thank you for this, and your other thoughtful videos, for bringing more life into this game. I would love to see an equivalent deep dive into Baldur's Gate 3, especially since I never played the first two games or DnD.
I love these videos, you do such an amazing job!! Really hoping you do some for the main DLC characters (Sol, Songbird, Rosalind, Alex, and Kurt) or some on all the fixer backstories!😍
Today i learned the meeting in the Afterlife with T-bug takes place in a morgue. Step out of the soundproof box and you’ll see a wall lined with crematories/corpse lockers
Call me crazy but I think Yorinobu was behind the heist. I think he needed to move or sell the relic but knew he couldn’t even blink without his father knowing. I think he did the right things and said the right things to the right people so that it would cause a cascade of seemingly random events that would get the relic where it needed to go in a “the left hand never knows what the right is doing” type of way. It would be the only way to stay ahead of Saburo. Everything would have worked out for him because he gets the relic moved with nothing to lead back to him, the heist makes a good red herring for Saburo to distract him from Yorinobu’s takeover plot, and he gets the satisfaction of outsmarting Saburo by pretending to be the reckless fool his father always thought he was. One of the biggest reasons for this theory is that V registers as detected by Smasher. I don’t think this was an oversight. I think he would have had infrared vision or something based on what is known about him. I also think he’s somehow integrated into the security system, so he would have known if there was any tampering what so ever. When Yorinobu snapped, I think he figured he would never get a chance like that again and he could put an end to all of his problems right then and there and still be the winner in their father/son feud. There would be no witnesses, and he knew his pawns had to still be somewhere in the building to take the blame. There’s no other way he could have the audacity to be the only one in the room with Saburo, and think he could still get away with it unless he KNEW there was someone readily available to take the blame.
I sometimes wonder how many gangoons would mess with V if they could see our stats. Everyone thinks they're hard with a bc of 20 or 30, but staring down a fully chipped Edgerunner with 5000 kills in just the last month might paint some streets brown.
Evelyn's plan was actually pretty perfect, but you can't plan for complete unknowns like the sudden visit from Saburo or even more especially his murder at the hands of Yorinobu. If not for that they would've been in and out and on to the Afterlife.
God, this deep dive is so good! It makes me want to replay 2077 for a fourth time! I just wanted to agree with some of your points, but offer an opposing viewpoint for others. I agree that Judy's romance is the most well-rounded and most fulfilling of all of the romances in the game. Her's is a sweet soul that's far too good for Night City. And I also agree that leaving is the best end that could be afforded to any character, and that Judy deserves it. BUT, if you romance her, I don't feel like it's a worse end for her than leaving on her own. No doubt that, if you get to see her and apart from you after Phantom Liberty, that things turn out well for her and she's happy. But that doesn't mean that in an alternate timeline, she can't be happy with V and the Aldecaldos... At least, for as long as V lives. And I don't think that the nomads would stop her from pursuing her own path in life after V's passing. In fact, I think they'd support her in that endeavor more than anyone else would. She'd be family after all. And they're a VERY GOOD family, loving and supporting their members in the absolute. I can understand how you'd see it as a loss of agency on Judy's part. But I'd like to think of it as V helping to guide her along a very good path. One that gives her more options for travel, exploration, and artistic expression in the future. She's hella hesitant to the idea at first, which is understandable given everything that she's been through. And she doesn't know what the future holds for her by leaving with V. but when she shows up and rolls out with V, it's a very good feeling to me. To know that she's not only with someone that she loves, but with a group of people who will genuinely treat her with the same care and attention that she's tried to treat others with. V might be destined to die at that point, but if you asked me, that is the best possible ending of the game for all parties involved who are still alive...especially since there is no reason that Judy couldn't seek out Bianca if she chooses to once the inevitable catches up to V.
I definitely resonate with this comment, although I do feel the need to push back on the notion that V's death is inevitable. CDPR actually left some very subtle symbolism within this ending that hint that survival may be possible for V, like the bird you see right after Mikoshi. I'm also going to point out that Judy is actually the first one in the relationship to suggest leaving together, so in a way V is following Judy's plan rather than the other way around. The Star ending is basically what Judy had in mind already. There's also a high likelihood that Judy stays with the Nomads. She's already somewhat nomadic by nature as displayed if you've never romanced her. And the Aldecados' values are very close to her own, in a way the clan is what Judy had envisioned the Mox to be. They could very well provide her the community she's always been seeking her whole life, and I believe her interactions with Carol are meant to hint at that. As for Bianca, I'm really only convinced that Judy is truly happy with her if she's never romanced. If Judy ever is romanced I believe that changes the context considerably. There's a particular line of dialogue that I feel gets glossed over far too often; it's where Judy makes a comparison between V and Bianca. If you really listen to the line, you can hear a hint of disappointment in her tone, as if she's disappointed that Bianca isn't quite like V. The fact that she's even making a comparison between them is alarming.
So I’m laying on the couch listening and sadly fell asleep. Ended up having the best dream. I’m at some stadium for some sports event. A couple of friends started talking about cyberpunk. A young lady I worked with was talking to Phil Coulson, yeah, that Phil Coulson. It was a great conversation. The young lady had some thoughts. We walk all around the stadium listening . Me and Phil were all ears as she described each character. Stopped for lunch. I found out I was friends with Nathan Fillion and Danny DeVito. Then the walk around the stadium continued. The entire time my friend was going on and on and on about her thoughts on cyberpunk characters. It was fantastic. I was so happy to know someone who was so passionate and listen to her talk about cyberpunk. Turns out I was working at the stadium and had to exit the conversation. I didn’t want to go back to work. I was so sad. Then I started waking up. It sucked that I was having such a good dream and it was ending. I wanted to continue listening to what my friend had to say. She was so good at discussing these characters. Then as i woke up i realized i was about two hours into this video. It wasn’t just a dream.
I also think t-bug was meant to betray V and Jackie like in the cinematic trailer but a part of me second guesses the theory as well. There's a number of quickhacks she could of used to kill V in that moment (synapse burnout, suicide, etc) but instead she uses a non-lethal hack to try and stop him instead, so maybe she was just as surprised by the betrayal as V was.
Wow. Only ten minutes in and I now have an entirely new appreciation of a (I thought) throwaway line about avoiding mean reds. Your innate sense of storytelling and the nuances that need to be included is VERY welcome in today's media landscape where all too often character growth is sacrificed for plot convenience, and no-one seems to mind as long as there are pretty (?) explosions. Oh, btw if your V goes to the quickhack vendor (whom you met in the early game mission "The Gift") in Kabuki Central after the heist, you can ask them if they heard about T-Bug and how she died. Her answer is chilling.
THANK YOU!!!! the t-bug having an escape plan that fits these boys screwing the heist, that makes Zense. Her just being fried, that’s cheap logic. She played the system and is living with Alex in Monaco
I wonder if both dex and tbug were supposed to be alive and hunting them down was part of the quest. Find dex only to find bug had double crossed him, then find bug which leads you into the vdbs. And maybe this was changed due to the similarity to fallout new vegas? Courier/merc is shot in the head for a “chip” only to come back from the grave to hunt them down. Even with dex dying early there’s still a taste of it. Different worlds and following stories of course but the base is very similar
@@lydiscott madam! You won't believe the sea of games that deserve your curious eyes and analysing flow of creativity :D I can't wait to see what other games pull you in!
I disagree with you on one point. Judy (should you romance her) staying to help save V get out of Night City (via the Aldecaldos) although not necessarily the best ending for her, is the most in keeping with her character. She wouldn't just disappear and leave V to die. It's clearly in her nature to turn and reach back to pull V out with her even if they don't stay together after. She'd never be able to forgive herself if she didn't at least try.
Suggestion for a future video for charactor analysis. Im not sure if this show would be something your interested in or not but have you ever considered/checked out Black Lagoon animated series. Revy , Rock , Belalika and other are unique charactors that could provide you with material for new videos if you run out of ideas. Anyways great video see ya on the next one!
I'm not sure if you've heard since but, Jackie ONLY interrupts Misty if you walk into the room. If you stand just outside he doesn't interrupt her and if I remember correctly there was actually a little more said.
To me I always felt being able to leave with V at the end of the game was also a nice ending to her story. But hearing your point of view let me see a new perspective on it.
I doubt this will ever get seen, but in the event of replaying through cyberpunk and choosing the nomad life path. I think when/if that choice is considered, then it goes even deeper than just roping V into the konpeki heist. As a nomad you have no one in NC until your clan splits (join snake nation) and your "forced" into a smuggling job that just so happens to involve our boy Jackie. From his point, he meets this random nomad who has no name and immediately begin getting chased and shot at by corps, he extends a hand, gets this person an apartment, jobs, contacts and in V's eyes, a sense of purpose. To then get involved with Dex, and as we know ends up with the death of bug, Dex, Jackie and puts V on a very short timer (if you listen to the game and V's "timer")
As much as I love having all the details some of the ambiguity in Cyberpunk 2077 makes it feel that much more realistic as you don’t always have neat answers.
Cyberpunk was not rushed to market, they managed development time poorly. I love the game, don't get me wrong, even before the DLC and most recent updates I had at least 10 playthoughs with hundreds of hours each, but their late stage cuts and poor launch were entirely their own fault.
For me, when Jackie told Claire his drink, I knew right then and there, Jackie wasn't coming back from the heist.
That was some great foreshadowing.

Lydi: Let me just drop this 4 hours of Cyberpunk 2077 Character Lore.... now.
Me: Ok, it's time to watch 4 hours of Cyberpunk 2077 Character Lore
LOLOLOLOL WOOOO 🤣
Gods this is relatable
I never been this early but I feel like I have to be for how long this is! I'm seated! I love your coverage and discussion on Cyberpunk!
AWWW thank you so much for that! 🥰
Will always love these lore videos, thanks for making them a compilation
One of the things I love about the main story quest is that our V isn't really the hero, nor is Jackie. The actual hero is Yorinobu, our V is just a small fry who manages to stumble through and ruin everyone's best laid plans. Even if we get to know all the fixers and get all the good gigs, V is still just a merc, an odd jobs contractor. I really like not being "the commander", "the general", "the champion" or any of the other unearned monickers both SRPGs and MMORPGs seem to hand out like candy these days. Cyberpunk's stories and characters are refreshing.
Yorinbobu? Woww lol. Ps am not arguing I'm just too dumb to understand the comment :)
You put a lot of effort in this video. You need more subs tbf.
Oh hell yea, a long video on my favorite game *grabs popcorn*
getting to bang ms Stout was something i never expected tbh
came out of left field for me too lmao
Youre one of the good ones - hope you keep it up and keep putting out insightful and interesting stuff!
ahhh thank you! Will do! Excited to get into some new characters this month. :D
My birthday present came 2 weeks early. Thank you queen!
I have been searching for a video and low and behold my newest subscription uploaded it! Thanks so much!!! Bout to watch the whole thing twice
AHHH omg thank you! :D
just don’t forget you still have allot of other characters to do videos on in cyberpunk loll no rush 🙏🏾
God it’s like… a hundred more characters?! 😂
@@lydiscott 🤣🤣
This is really, really cool; thank you for this
I love these videos, you do such an amazing job!! Really hoping you do some for the main DLC characters (Sol, Songbird, Rosalind, Alex, and Kurt) or some on all the fixer backstories!😍
Loved this.
Perfect for relaxing after work thank you Lord for this bountiful harvest
You can see Maiko again in the DLC (provided you don't kill her) but she won't acknowledge your presence.
Cyberpunk content? Subbed, gonna watch this while playing
awww thank you so much for that!
@@lydiscott Anytime! Loving it to far, keep it up! Hope this becomes a hit!
Today i learned the meeting in the Afterlife with T-bug takes place in a morgue. Step out of the soundproof box and you’ll see a wall lined with crematories/corpse lockers
Wow! Great stuff, thank you for this.
There’s no other way he could have the audacity to be the only one in the room with Saburo, and think he could still get away with it unless he KNEW there was someone readily available to take the blame.
i already finished the entire video 😎
FUCK YEAH YOU DID HATERCAT 💀💀💀
One of my new favorite channels for late night binges
Aw thank you for watching! 😄
2:37:05 This is probably the reason ViC and Misty are Fan fav, they remember us till end.
QUALITY 4 HOUR ESSAY LETS GOOOO
I very much love your series!
Aww thank you!
Amazing video, thank you!
Heya!, looking forward also for PL’s content, especially on Songbird and Reed. :D those characters are really interesting to tackle with.
thank you for blessing us with 4 hour long video!
Aw hey thank you for watching my work! :D
Bless this gal. I really like your work.
Thank you so much for watching!
This video is right up my alley, on that note. WHY DID I NOT GET ALERTED THAT THIS VID DROPPED TH-cam. Late to the party, but awesome work as always.
15:04 jackie says this line with such vitriol and contempt it gave me shudders when i went back and replayed this game lately
I sometimes wonder how many gangoons would mess with V if they could see our stats. Everyone thinks they're hard with a bc of 20 or 30, but staring down a fully chipped Edgerunner with 5000 kills in just the last month might paint some streets brown.
Jesus Christ I expected a long video but 4 hours? Christ. I'm watching this.
It’s gonna be a good night 😊
so impressed by this vid, thanks for putting so much time into this! i just bought cp2077 and am loving the lore myself!
I absolutely believe that Dex would have fully cleaned house after Konpexki.
Especially T-Bug because she knew too much.
awe hell yes a four hour length vid sold
WE ARE GETTING INTO CYBERSPACE WITH THIS ONE 🔥
LOLOLOL HELL YEAH!
Hell yea, 4 hour long bday vid
HAPPY BIRTHDAYYYYY
@@lydiscott thanks 😁
Evelyn's plan was actually pretty perfect, but you can't plan for complete unknowns like the sudden visit from Saburo or even more especially his murder at the hands of Yorinobu. If not for that they would've been in and out and on to the Afterlife.
WOW! im stoked about this. Will binge on the weekend Special call out to Shape By Stories little writing partner Antonio!
I FORGOT TO CREDIT ANTONIO!
You're such a great storyteller. Great job on your videos! 😁
One time I decided to talk to Woodman and went with Judy later, but every other time I've killed Woodman in his office.
"And you were there, and you were there, and you were there." Lol gotta be a good time hanging with Danny DeVito and an agent of SHIELD.
This is the first video of yours that I have seen, I'm surprised you don't have more subs , great content
You had me at 4 hour Cyberpunk lore video, I’m in
THANK YOU!!!! the t-bug having an escape plan that fits these boys screwing the heist, that makes Zense. Her just being fried, that’s cheap logic. She played the system and is living with Alex in Monaco
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Perfect 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
aw thank you!
Wow incredible content great work
Thanks so much as always for sharing loved the movie so seeing more is awesome
I wonder if both dex and tbug were supposed to be alive and hunting them down was part of the quest. Find dex only to find bug had double crossed him, then find bug which leads you into the vdbs. And maybe this was changed due to the similarity to fallout new vegas? Courier/merc is shot in the head for a “chip” only to come back from the grave to hunt them down. Even with dex dying early there’s still a taste of it. Different worlds and following stories of course but the base is very similar
This was amazing!
AHHHH THANK YOU JESTER! ❤️
Madam, you are a incredible narrator and analyst ^_^
Awww thank you so much!
@@lydiscott madam! You won't believe the sea of games that deserve your curious eyes and analysing flow of creativity :D I can't wait to see what other games pull you in!
Next time if possible, may you please section the video with the characters/topics? If not it's okay, great video regardless.
Ah, Roanapur.
No one has covered the lore on the computers, either mission to mission, open world info lore, or even the NPC corpses around the map 🤔
Now i have to check out the channel I wonder if she does lore from cyberpunk red as well. that would be very helpful.
I remember playing the funeral quest. I think it did say he beat his dad up and his dad left after that?
Big request, would you be willing to get into Warhammer 40,000? I would love to hear your analyses of some of the characters
They're both pretty solid endings for her. The Sun isn't too bad, either
Nice video this. I do wonder how long it must have taken to write up. Great effort
Hey would you consider uploading full cutscenes of your play throughs of cyberpunk 2077 ???
Ahhhh honestly, probably not! I'm honestly not fun to watch play because i mostly just mess around and die a lot lmao. And drive horrendously.
Not to mention if you notice the color of the relic which has red and how when Jackie slots the relic his eyes glow red as well.
Cyberpunk was not rushed to market, they managed development time poorly. I love the game, don't get me wrong, even before the DLC and most recent updates I had at least 10 playthoughs with hundreds of hours each, but their late stage cuts and poor launch were entirely their own fault.
