While he was trying to get back to Emilia he saw the church that the villagers were staying on fire. Then Subaru had come to conclusion that the Villagers have chosed to burn alive than get eaten alive by the rabbits. It was a mass suicide. Also the ending was Subaru’s first ever kiss in his life…

I interpreted the Roswal scene (near the end) as him not understanding how return by death works. He probably just notices the scent of the witch and that Subaru knows about things he shouldn’t. So eventually Roswal figured out that Subaru can undo things, then kicks the shit out of Subaru wondering why Subaru isn’t reseting xD idk but that was savage nonetheless
Roswaal cannot smell the miasma, he is aware of Subaru’s ability to redo things because it was mentioned in his Tome of Wisdom. Everything else you said is correct though.
The Tome of Wisdom is what got him to figure out that Subaru has some "redo" ability, though he thinks that it's something Subaru can do on command, which is why he abuses him to to force him to restart instead of killing him. He doesn't know the prerequisites to activate Subaru's "power".

I assume Subaru _can_ tell people that he can return, he's just forbidden to say how. Notice how Satella always interrupts him before he says "death" but he can say "I can return by--". This would explain how often he hints at it in various ways to many people but nothing happens.

This is, by far, one of the most creepy, unsettling, twisted episodes of an anime I've ever seen. Nothings for shock value alone, it's all tasteful and nuanced.
The anime had these little animated chibi segments that went with the episodes and they were used to for little tidbits of lore, character bits, or gags. The one for this episode featured Meili and Elsa after having finished their contract. Elsa shares how she hated Subaru for the look in his eyes. She believes when someone faces death, they either should fight against it or accept it. To her Subaru looked like he didn't believe death was the end which annoyed her. For someone who admires death as much as her, it must be very condescending. So that's why she gouges his eye out here. It all ties back to one of the central themes of this season that we see connecting to what Roswaal said about Subaru "catching up" to him.
Suddenly it makes sense how Subaru was always "lucky" enough to open the right door to the library. Except when she gets serious about hiding (i.e. specifically from Subaru).
My favorite part of this video is the very prominent Echidna body pillow isn't ever even mentioned, lol. Not really a spoiler, but on something Ben pointed out that he's on the right track for: = = = = 47:10 Holy hell, the catch from Ben noticing that Elsa was missing her cloak once she came back to kill Betty is pretty nuts.
regarding on why Emilia focused purely on him , its quite simple , its because there are only 2 people in Emilia's life that she knows who truly cherish her , Subaru and puck , she needed an emotional support and so far , who was the one who was with her in the sanctuary so far ? Subaru , so she was so broken , she lean on Subaru purely
Being distant is easy after being hurt over and over again especially when you have your own pocket dimension there comes a point in where giving up the person is fixated on finality even seeking your own dreams becomes painful because of the hope that is crushed every time someone enters her library she’s always disappointed and annoyed she doesnt trust anyone and the only thing that she had left to trust was the book so when she loses that she thinks its finally her end and accepts it

I do love this season but this episode is one of the worst at clarifying certain details. it didnt even feel rushed, they included everything important at least. it was just a script writing issue. Most other questions are brought up later or elaborated. These are just a few issues that i found to be somewhat confusing about this episode
The first anime season adapted the first three story arcs of the original web novel. This second season consists solely of the fourth story arc (by far the longest arc in the web novel; the anime actually cut out quite a bit of content.) I am hoping and praying that the anime eventually adapts the sixth story arc. I do not exaggerate when I say that Arc 6 is peak fiction; I have literally never read a more brilliantly written story arc that was put to words. I was so engrossed I spent twelve hours a day doing nothing but reading it. Re:zero is something special.

Roswaal's book gives him instructions /things which happen leading to his desired future the same as the gospels(it's just supposed to be a better copy of Echidna's book of wisdom). When Subaru managed to read from Petelgeuse's gospel in the webnovel version it said to "carry out the trial at Arlam village" without more details, so Roswaal doesn't pursue these things as more than a step towards that future indicated by the book. It's like he's collecting ingredients for a potion, one of them is killing the Dragon, one is Emilia winning the royal selection and one is Subaru to help Emilia.

This letter thing is one of the most out of pocket things in season 2 with many things that got badly explained or just straight up skipped completely. The letter actually never gets clarified in the anime as far as I recall and that just makes me think it's the kind of small thing that gets abused in the story as a plot device to generate uneeded chaos, exactly like the letter Subaru sent in season 1 but got confused as a blank letter because Rem was the one who wrote it and it got blank because of the shannanigans that happened to her.
when subaru leaves the letter, you can see a ryuzu follow him. later on, he asked about the letter and emilia denies getting it. now roswaal says he didn’t do anything to it. it is badly explained but it’s also one of those details you dont need to full explanation on. basically, emilia didn’t get the letter somehow. its made obvious in the show, they stated it multiple times. and they explained how emilias mind broke. what i really, legitimately hate is their use of the shadows in emilias eyes. it looks cool, dont get me wrong. but it confuses people so much because it looks like satellas shadow and we just saw emilia presumably turning into the witch of envy. such a bad aesthetic decision because its so badly placed. i havent seen a single anime only that wasn’t confused about that. most of them understand emilia lost her shit. the only detail that would help is if the translator made it more clear emilia was doing the trials rather than a “task”. since saying task is so vague

But it's not the "average" Ryuzu right, cuz they were under Subaru's authority before he left, that means it's only the fault of "that one" who wants to create chaos. Right, makes sense. I agree with the Emilia thing, they made her look like she was possessed when they could've just given her bland yandere eyes, and in a season you really want to separate Emilia, Witch of Envy and Satella as their own characters, you're just making it willfully confusing imo with the choices they made.
To explain what happened in this episode: Roswaal caused the snow (in order for the entire town to be suspicious and berate Emilia as the cause of the snow) and also knows that someone got rid of Subaru's letter (that explained that he was leaving for a while to the mansion but that he was going to come back). And without Puck and Subaru to support her during the trial, Emilia kept attempting the trial and failing miserably until the mental pressure of being blamed for the snow and also from accused/hated for supposedly being an evil witch, the feeling of being abandoned and the trauma of the trial got her mentally broken to the point where she went crazy and started to think that she wasn't able do anything without Subaru's support. That's why she was acting so weird. And when it comes to Roswaal, there's something important to clarify: It's widely implied that there's only two individuals that know about the existence of return by death in the world. One of them is supposedly Puck and the other is confirmed to be Roswaal. But each of them have different info: Puck knows that there's someone in the world that has the power to reset the world upon death but doesn't know the identity of such person. That's why she turns into that giant cat and freezes the entire world every time Emilia dies. Like in S1 episode 15. Because she knows that if she kills everyone, she'll also be killing the person that has the power to return by death to reset the world and that way, Emilia will be alive again. And when it comes to Roswaal, (unlike Puck) he knows that it's Subaru the one that has the ability to return by death but what he doesn't know is how Subaru resets the world (but Puck does). Roswaal doesn't know that Subaru needs to die to return reset the world. That's why in this episode he starts punching him and kicking him in an attempt to make him use his ability. Also, in case you were wondering, the only reason Subaru was able to survive the attack of the rabbits is because he ordered the pink haired elf clones to defend him (since he gained the authority to give them orders in the previous episodes). But even like that he still got badly injured. That's the only reason he was able to reach Emilia despite all the rabbits being there.

But Subaru doesn't know that when he asked Roswaal about the letter. I think it's implied that Roswaal got surprised of Subaru knowing that there was something going on with the letter. The other option is that Garfield took it to disencourage Emilia and avoid the sanctuary from being open to the world. But it all depends on which source material is used.
We saw a Ryuzu when Subaru was leaving and mentioning the letter, which indicates that it was her who took it. It was more likely Shima. Web novel version is so different from light novel when it comes to the this arc.

It wasnt satella it was emilia herself in this version when subaru left and the villagers diet and there was no one to help emilia help overcome her past seeing as the only 2 people by her side puck and subaru left she left despair and started to go through the trail again and again over and over confronting her past which drove her crazy and insane she felt the need for subaru who's always there at the right time for her bcz he always makes it this time he didn't he made it late she was soo overwhelmed by emotion and need for love when subaru returned she was all crazy for him that he came back and acted like that bcz she didn't wanted anything else but him she had already lost her mind it was creepy as fuck but soo goddamn well done

This letter thing is one of the most out of pocket things in season 2 with many things that got badly explained or just straight up skipped completely. The letter actually never gets clarified in the anime as far as I recall and that just makes me think it's the kind of small thing that gets abused in the story as a plot device to generate uneeded chaos, exactly like the letter Subaru sent in season 1 but got confused as a blank letter because Rem was the one who wrote it and it got blank because of the shannanigans that happened to her.
when subaru leaves the letter, you can see a ryuzu follow him. later on, he asked about the letter and emilia denies getting it. now roswaal says he didn’t do anything to it.
it is badly explained but it’s also one of those details you dont need to full explanation on. basically, emilia didn’t get the letter somehow. its made obvious in the show, they stated it multiple times. and they explained how emilias mind broke.
what i really, legitimately hate is their use of the shadows in emilias eyes. it looks cool, dont get me wrong. but it confuses people so much because it looks like satellas shadow and we just saw emilia presumably turning into the witch of envy. such a bad aesthetic decision because its so badly placed. i havent seen a single anime only that wasn’t confused about that. most of them understand emilia lost her shit. the only detail that would help is if the translator made it more clear emilia was doing the trials rather than a “task”. since saying task is so vague

But it's not the "average" Ryuzu right, cuz they were under Subaru's authority before he left, that means it's only the fault of "that one" who wants to create chaos. Right, makes sense. I agree with the Emilia thing, they made her look like she was possessed when they could've just given her bland yandere eyes, and in a season you really want to separate Emilia, Witch of Envy and Satella as their own characters, you're just making it willfully confusing imo with the choices they made.
To explain what happened in this episode:
Roswaal caused the snow (in order for the entire town to be suspicious and berate Emilia as the cause of the snow) and also knows that someone got rid of Subaru's letter (that explained that he was leaving for a while to the mansion but that he was going to come back). And without Puck and Subaru to support her during the trial, Emilia kept attempting the trial and failing miserably until the mental pressure of being blamed for the snow and also from accused/hated for supposedly being an evil witch, the feeling of being abandoned and the trauma of the trial got her mentally broken to the point where she went crazy and started to think that she wasn't able do anything without Subaru's support. That's why she was acting so weird.
And when it comes to Roswaal, there's something important to clarify:
It's widely implied that there's only two individuals that know about the existence of return by death in the world.
One of them is supposedly Puck and the other is confirmed to be Roswaal. But each of them have different info:
Puck knows that there's someone in the world that has the power to reset the world upon death but doesn't know the identity of such person. That's why she turns into that giant cat and freezes the entire world every time Emilia dies. Like in S1 episode 15. Because she knows that if she kills everyone, she'll also be killing the person that has the power to return by death to reset the world and that way, Emilia will be alive again.
And when it comes to Roswaal, (unlike Puck) he knows that it's Subaru the one that has the ability to return by death but what he doesn't know is how Subaru resets the world (but Puck does). Roswaal doesn't know that Subaru needs to die to return reset the world. That's why in this episode he starts punching him and kicking him in an attempt to make him use his ability.
Also, in case you were wondering, the only reason Subaru was able to survive the attack of the rabbits is because he ordered the pink haired elf clones to defend him (since he gained the authority to give them orders in the previous episodes). But even like that he still got badly injured. That's the only reason he was able to reach Emilia despite all the rabbits being there.
Correction: It was not Roswall that got rid of the letter

Also, while Puck does have a female VA, the character is male.

That's because in the web novel the letter never disappeared. And Emilia just kept reading it to cling to any hope she can of Subaru returning. But Subaru doesn't know that when he asked Roswaal about the letter. I think it's implied that Roswaal got surprised of Subaru knowing that there was something going on with the letter.
The other option is that Garfield took it to disencourage Emilia and avoid the sanctuary from being open to the world. But it all depends on which source material is used.

We saw a Ryuzu when Subaru was leaving and mentioning the letter, which indicates that it was her who took it. It was more likely Shima.
Web novel version is so different from light novel when it comes to the this arc.

This episode is kind of a miss that Emilia was not possessed and that Roswaal doesn't know the details about Subaru's power... and next episodes won't help them clear this up.
The importance of good animation and direction of art. Which is abit lacking in season 2.
