For context: In episode 14 Subaru was being a VERY bad person. He kept thinking about himself as Emilia's undeniable "savior" despite being utterly powerless and because of that he was literally wanting for something bad to happen just so he could "fix it" and prove to Emilia that she needs to depend on him. That's why he smiled every time someone mentioned that Emilia or her position as a candidate was going to be endangered by the presence of the witches cult. And that's also why when he saw the huge pile of corpses and that Rem was dead he said: "This isn't my fault" and "This isn't what I wanted" (admitting to himself that he wanted something terrible to happen to "help" Emilia but when his wish came true he realized how horrible he was for thinking like that). Fun fact: During the first moments, where you see Subaru looking around the houses, when he seems to not be able to find anyone he's actually watching that everyone inside those houses were dead. But he was so shocked for how gruesome their deaths were that he couldn't even process what he saw during the firsts minutes and just kept unconsciously looking in other houses as if he didn't see anything. Also, in episode 15, when Betelgeuse says that he's surprised because Subaru is so "loved", he's actually referring to the witches scent being pretty strong on him.
I mean he wasnt neccessarily being like a "very bad person" the kid is 17, he's just acting like any inexperienced shut in kid who was only playing games and watching anime would act when put in that situation. He just thinks he's like an OP main character and this world was designed for him. Which are very understandable flaws but at the end of the day they are FLAWS. So in that aspect yea he was behaving really bad and he needs to learn how to treat people and how to act properly
I think the more appropriate term would be the spirit of heat which refers to temperature in general in terms of thermodynamics and sometimes confused with fire.
I get that you don’t like how Subaru reacted and a lot of people didn’t like that but I don’t think that is a good reason to even consider dropping a show. The fact he has flaws and is so relatable is part of why this show is so good. If Subaru would be flawless there wold be no room for improvement. Ep 12 and 13 were really well written and exciting in my opinion.
Also putting Rem on a pedestal when she was no better a few eps ago. People act as if Subaru is a b vsad guy which is crazy. You can drop a show if you don't like it, it's just preferences. I don't dislike Subaru nor Rem, but again, it's okay if people do. But some people totally missread or flat out ignore stuff.
Sucks that you can only think of the last two episodes as annoying, when the writing was great and meant to make the viewer uncomfortable and are essential to set up this 2nd half of the season and without episode 12 & 13 we couldn’t have gotten these 2 episodes. Many anime won’t even dare to show this kind of conflict or present the main character in a position where hes flat out wrong and actually has to face the consequences. But i guess discomfort equals annoying to some. There’s more to this show than just mystery and shock value but to each their own i guess
absolutly, this always makes me sad, not even trying to understand where subarus action come from, not once thinking about him being a shut in or the traumatic events of the last week for subaru... Especially their reaction on the talk with emilia made me mad
RIGHT?!? She gave the most visceral, honest, objectively correct reaction to that maddening piece of shite that can be given. Idealic reacting- unavoidable response. I loved it immensely.
yea exactly, his mental fortitude is insane. Sadly most people are used to regular animes with OP characters and dont see how trauma affects the characters of Re:Zero especially Subaru
You forgot, but about the puck having the element of fire, it's because cold/ice doesn't exist in the elements, so it manipulates the temperature to become cold instead of hot (like reverse fire).
I agree, it's honestly baffling how many reactors just jump straight onto hating him after episode 13. He showed a crappy side of himself because he's a flawed person, so what? It gives room for development down the line and makes his character arc all the more satisfying. People are so blinded by what they're seeing in the moment that they practically condemn the guy before he even has a chance to shine. I mean seriously, this is the same dude that worked his ass off to help the village only a few episodes prior. It doesn't excuse his poor behavior, but we as the viewers are seeing that he has multiple sides to him. He isn't some static, one-dimensional hero. I can respect someone's opinion if they still don't like him by the end of the anime, (personally I like him a lot) but people need to chill out and let the plot do its thing.
@@WMisarusit kind of reminds me of people who jump straight on a bandwagon without ever hearing the full story or never even considering second chances like the world is black and white. For children, understandable. For adults, unfortunate. There’s more to it but it just gives me that impression.
@@ExpertContrarianThere are definitely examples of both that I've seen from reactors. Some of them just can't stand a main protagonist that can't really fight or isn't able to just power up over the course of a couple episodes like most isekai protagonists. Others just seem to forget that Subaru isn't much more than a kid that still has a lot to learn about himself. They can't wrap their heads around what it must be like for a 17 year old guy that was ripped from his sheltered life and sent into a world where he's practically tortured on a daily basis. He was entitled and selfish for sure, but so are the majority of teenagers at some point in their life. People need to stop acting like it's a trait exclusive to Subaru and give him time to learn like everyone else, especially considering his circumstances.
Ep 15 is one of the most chillingly beautiful episodes in all of anime 😢❤️😢 it cemented it's number one spot in my heart with it. The song during the credits is just amazing, "requiem of silence", give it a listen. To this day it brings me to tears.
Yeah, I think the only real issue with this anime is you actually have to watch it twice to understand what an actual masterpiece this is. The first time is to get the story done meet the characters and get as much of the "wtf just happened" out of the way, then the second time for just how indepth everything is written. Characters, plot, mystery, hints. You realize the episode you hated was so important in the long run of Subaru's character growth. It's just insane how good this anime is but it's so deep you can't possibly take it all in from one watch through
I know right! This show is an absolute masterpiece, I only understood that on my 3rd rewatch. The characters in this show are written so well and they're so realistic. The over arcing story is just insanely well orchastrated, and yes the hints are everywhere.
I think because of the time loop mechanic, rewatching it adds a 3rd layer of awareness that each loop has been crafted to reveal certain bits of information- that all are cohesive with the true loop you see at the end. It’s satisfying as fuck
The thing is one of the moments that got me tied to subaro’s character was these times when he’s trying to save everyone but they all ended up dying anyways , so like I see some of those reactors who stops the show just because they starting to hate the main character and I understand but this moment specifically can be the reason why I put this anime in my number one list .
Peak zero, From here on, things take a more serious turn in terms of the plot, a lot comes from Subaru and although it is at this point where many say they hate a Subaru as the protagonist, what I consider is the opening of his character, I consider him a great protagonist who literally makes mistakes at every moment, falls, breaks down and cries and tries to move forward in a world where he is weak.
Gotta agree. On my first watch, episode 13 was an eye opener for me on how great Subaru could become if the story went in the right direction (which it did). I didn't have any sort of hate for him, even at his lowest. He made me slightly uncomfortable for sure, but I always just figured it was building up to something. Then episode 18 came and I was sold on him for the rest of the series. He's legitimately my favorite anime protagonist so it's sad to see people not give him a fair chance to improve.
So, the director of this episode (15) liked the end ost so kuch he based the whole episode's section to match the music. I think it set an industry precedent and was not done much before. Requiem of Silence is the OST is just that good. Puck is spirit of fire cuz they call temperature manipulation or heat transfer as element of fire. So puck just takes fire away from the environment & so does Emilia while roswaal gives fire to the environment.
so one thing a lot of people dont understand is why Rem was able to move after betelgeuse "made her play twister". One thing about demons or rather Oni >a japanese ogre< (I think its better untranslated as the actual translation of demons is mazoku but i digress) in the rezero world is that they are REALLY tough like stupid resiliant to physical damage ESPECIALLY in their transformed state. This is good to remember for later this season and season 2 as well. you can't really assume their dead until you KNOW their dead.
subaru is a normal human being. He has great moments. He has bad moments. I think anyone would explode after being put under the stress that he's in. Having memories of a world that doesn't exist, being unable to communicate due to the witch, and having built up stress after literally dying. He's just a 17 year old kid as well. A kid with flaws. I think it's pretty realistic which is what makes rezero so unique to most stories where the main character is some perfect saint or some emotionless logic monster. I don't see anyone defending subaru for what he said because ultimately he was wrong however seeing him lash out like that showed the viewer an uncomfortable reality that things like stress and emotions can get the better of people, even someone as kindhearted as subaru. If you were serious about thinking about dropping the show over him doing that then your opinion is valid. Your tastes and comforts come first. I would even encourage and recommend you to drop it because practically every character in rezero has their own flaws, burdens, secrets, and problems. They are well thought out characters who feel real. However, should you decide to stay then you are in for an emotional rollercoaster watching these flawed character open up, reveal their true selves and/or help eachother become better people. Also, the weight of death is something that people don't really understand when watching this show. Dying isn't just your vision going dark and waking up 2 days earlier. It's losing your soul, your life, your existence, etc. In subaru's case its also even worse because everyone who exists is also getting erased. Technically by resetting, he is killing everyone of that world. That version of them will never exist. The rem we see next episode isn't the rem that died this episode. That rem is gone forever. What the show fails to portray to the extent of the novels is how death is almost like the ultimate violation. Additionally, memory is one of rezero's MAIN recurring themes if not the main theme even in the lastest novel arc, and to fully appreciate it I believe one must truly try to acknowledge and appreciate the true meanings and possibilities of memories beyond its surface value.
Since you aren't going to be reading Re:Zero side story EX Crushe and Felix/Feris About a year before Subaru came to Lagunica The Royal family was dying out from a disease Court magician Roswaal L Mathers tried really hard to to cure them Crushe was supposed to marry the Crown Prince of the kingdom Felix came from a noble family buut with him being born with cat ears they treated him poorly they had him locked away in the family's basement Until Crushe heard about a hidden son from that family The family kept denying they had a son until Crushe persuaded her fiancee to investigate the family They found Felix really skinny and in rags Felix's family was then exiled out of the kingdom he then inherited his families titles and land Crushe, Felix The crown prince were inseparable they were bestfriends Crushe and the crown prince found out that Felix had healing magic It was too late for the king so he died. The the Selection process came in Felix enrolled in the White Knight passed And swore to never to see Crushe go through that again.
It's okay bro. If that happens, it's just that they didn't understand the real meaning behind those words (Like the majority of the people who watched this anime, as unfortunate as it sounds)
32:33 Because the author wanted it to be :). He is just that great. Re:zero is by far my favourite story. Its crazy to think that the first season only covers 9 volumes of the novels and there are currently 36 out rn. He is currently on arc 8 and have plans for 12 arcs so I am guessing that when this series is done there is going to be around 70 volumes of the novel lmao
Oh man i'm finally here, the infamous episode 15. Nice reaction, you guys did catch that the giant "Rat" or "Cat" was Puck. But like many people here said, you guys need to cut some slack for my boy Subaru, at least the same way we did with Rem. He's still young (17) and inexperienced, also his characters isn't just simply to annoy you. He definitely feel annoying for the past 2 episodes and i could see that, but still, he didn't deserve this type of hate. In a way, this arc is a lesson for him, he couldn't change the fk up he did on the royal selection since his checkpoint is already beyond that. Also i didn't even have time to hate on him when i first watched it, i was simply amazed by the brilliant writing. But yeah i'm excited for next reaction so imma end it here.
In re zero world fire magic is used to control temperature so you can use it to blast fireballs like Roswaal did in forest or create ice shards like Emilia or Puck, who as Great spirit of fire actually doesnt use fire at all
Wanting to drop a series bcoz the mc was miserable and vulnerable for 2 eps is wild lol 😂 subaru is one of the very few mc’s that actually has flaws and he acted like any normal teenager would in that situation seems like u guys prefer your typical one dimensional cardboard cutout mc instead of well written characters like subaru well to each their own I guess.
@@CaraPrezReacts Apparently, not liking something in the series makes you less of a person than the cult fans of re:zero, haha one of the most boring fan bases in animes
I am talking about the great sprit of fire, puck.👉 Actually, it makes sense beacuse of re zero's magic system. In re zero, magic system is totally different from others anime's.There are 6 type of magic, fire, watar, wind, earth, dark and light. Fire magic means control of temperature. If you control temperature under 0°C then you will Produce ice. And if you control very high temperature then you will produce fire. Puck using ice magic means he (he is he actually 👽) controling temperature in minus celcius! And he is so power in this type fire magic, so that's he called great sprit of fire. Water magic: All animal are made by water, so in water magic you can heal People's! Also you can use water! In rezero felix is best magic user in this kind of magic.😊
Maybe I'm just overthinking it, but everytime I watch this scene, I remember what Betty says about Mana being one's own life force. And if sucked too much one can die. And in this case, I feel like Rem used the last of her mana (life) to cast that magic that would free Subaru. She was willing and actually gave up her entire life for him.
That ending with the snow slowly building up onto Subaru's corpse is probably one of the best endings/cliffhangers ever. I understand that Subaru was being a bitch in the last two episodes, but you guys put it well that he isn't understood, and these episodes REALLY pound it in that he is tortured. Even when he tries to explain himself, he isn't able to because of his heart. Everything is building up in Subaru just as the snow did on him, and this last episode showed yet another outcome of that.
@@JS-kb4bk The ending going on is just an aesthetic choice for the credits to roll. I could put into question the fact that Puck remained static all that time. White Fox has done similar things in an ending of the anime Goblin Slayer. People also use to rely in the beginning of episode 7 for that theory, when Ram slashes his throat and then Rem says something seconds after that as if the world continues, but if you use good headphones, you can hear Subaru`s breath ´til the end. Edit: Here it is the Goblin slayer ending th-cam.com/video/sVWz9O4Qg3E/w-d-xo.html. It would be naive to think that the time was actually flowing and that they just stayed there doing nothing while he was dying. So, it can only be taken as an aesthetic choice by the studio for rolling the credits in an episode that carries an special meaning for the story.
@@stivendiazflorez If time stood while the credits rolled, then sure it's an aesthetic choice. That did not happen, time was clearly moving for a long time while Subaru was 100% dead. This is either reality or a plot hole that they created.
in the re:zero world fire magic means the ability to control temperature using mana on some scale (raising or lowering) so ice and flames both fall into the fire magic category (its weird because ice seems like it would be water magic)
These episodes are the only few episodes of REZERO that I remember, the way these episodes are embedded into my brain and traumatised me even to this day is a testament of how impactful this was on me
I don’t blame you guys for hating Subaru, its supposed to be frustrating to watch. If its not your thing, thats understandable. But it should show how good a character Subaru is if this many people are defending him. To have a character act… like this and then have so many people find him relatable and good should speak to whats being set up. That being said, you don’t have to like it if you don’t want to and thats 100% understandable. And i say that as someone who considers Subaru to be the best anime protagonist ever. His development is astounding, but its also very daring and controversial. Something to keep in mind for why Subaru is acting out so much is Emilia literally saved him when no one else was there for him. If she didn’t find him that day then Subaru would be alone maybe even homeless rn. But he a place he can belong. And not just that, Subaru has spent possibly 1 extra month when Emilia since he reset so much in the mansion. Thats why it feels like hes closer to her than he than she is with him. Its not him being weird, its genuinely true. And for others, it just seemed like Subaru easily figured all the problems out. But in actuality he had to fail, die, and restart over and over. Its why Emilia WANTED to believe him. And why Subaru feels like hes “earned” a spot near Emilia. The suffering he went through is a valid feeling, but not considering that others cant see it that way is his flaw If Emilia knew Subaru died and tried multiple times to save her, the mansion people, and the villagers. She probably would have been comfortable letting Subaru come along. But she doesn’t have that knowledge, only Subaru does. Its another effect of his RBD
Btw, the power system can be kinda confusing. Fire magic is kinda like temperature control in this show. Just like water magic in the series is for healing
why do you pretend that your mind is broken . Subarus mind was really broken he had a condition called emotion overload (you have so many different strong emotions that your brain cant handle them and shuts down) But every person has another sight of vew and for betelgeuse who also is a Soziopath (and other things) subaru is not broken because its only a state he was in .
this isn't a spoiler so don't worry! but in the anime, fire is more like temperature control. cuz cold is just the absence of heat, the magic works by taking heat away from surroundings, making it colder!
I'm fairly sure that I requested this before but you should totally watch I want to eat your pancreas. One of my favorite movies of all time. If you do watch it (or if you already have) go into it blind for the best experience.
34:24 “2 or 3 episodes ago, Emilia said Puck is the spirit of fire.” Are you sure? Puck had ice powers, as you saw when he was fighting Elsa way back in the first few episodes.
I, and many others, think of Re: Zero season 1 episode 15 as perhaps the greatest episode of anime ever. The horror, the sorrow, the disgust, the hope, the regret. Plus, those ending credits nearly knocked me on my ass the first time I watched them. The finality and woe, the feelingsl one gets, seeing the protagonist's body fade away beneath the never ending snow, instead of flashing away to his very confused, but very alive, self, allow for a wholly unique experience. I hope ya'll get used to Subaru, because if the last couple of episodes were too much to deal with, you've got a bunch more Subaruing bullshite ahead!
30:48 "How did she survive that?" 1. Demon 2. Well, I mean... she didn't survive. 31:59 Decapitate and ... *ROLL CREDITS!*. It's so outrageous. One of the peak moments in all anime. Ref ep 13 being so annoying. That was intentional and that was the point. Subaru can't be a great hero unless he's knocked down and overcomes insane hardships. Knocked down down down... all the way to ZERO BTW, people have abandoned the series after ep 13. Re:Zero fans call them fools.
Yea lol. This Arc Subaru is supposed to be very unlikable. He's super flawed, bent on selfishness and revenge. Also, the character development of Subaru is some of the best in anime which is why it's so good. Edit: I see all the comments talking about it and it's absolutely normal to dislike Subaru a lot at this point. I did too xD. Thanks for the reactions and hope for more!~
I honestly dont think subaru was entirely wrong in ep 13, until the knight shit ofc lol and the freak out at the end, but I get why he spoke out in the first place because of all the racist stuff coming at Emilia from basically every direction, and the fact that he had never really seen how she was truly treated before. Just the way he went about it was awful, and really speaking out at all was just never going to work out well but I get why he inially did it. Plus in the Ln its Roswaal joining in on the banter that makes Subaru snap.
no he was definitelyyy wrong. He was already wrong when he broke his promise to her and followed her to the meeting, instead of focusing on healing his gate (showing up with a competitor for the throne too) she even went as far as to go to crusch, her rival for the throne, to get the best healer in the kingdom. She wanted him to give her a reason to trust him, by not breaking a very simple promise of “just don’t follow me and go get your gate healed”. Subaru wanted her to need him, he wanted to feel important to her, he was selfishly putting his need of wanting to be by her side 24/7 above the choice of respecting her wishes and staying. the choice of following her is where he went wrong
@@alaimoon5250 To be fair, Return By Death is only really useful when Subaru is around when things go poorly. He has every reason to want to stay by her side during big events like that and it's just the natural thing for someone to do in his situation. That being said, the way he goes about it is the worst he could have.
@@nameless8789 yeah i get that but the fact is that he didn’t respect her wishes and her choice, he wanted to be by her side 24/7 and that’s just wrong. he felt like he was her savior, that she is not safe at all unless he’s there, which is already super arrogant of him. if she told him to stay put and get his gate healed then he should’ve respected her and her effort to get him the best healer in the kingdom for him but he didn’t. it should’ve been made clear to subaru when she asks him to give her a reason to trust him, to not break a very important promise. Don’t get me wrong though subaru is my all time favorite character, i get that his rbd messed him up but until a certain point in season 2 *SPOILERS FOR SEASON 2!!!!!!* he didn’t think that the checkpoints won’t save anyone but him, so he was under the idea that if something happened he could still restart to before it did. so it just proves that he wanted to be her savior incase anything happens, to show her that without him, she won’t survive anything. aghh i really wanna say more but it’s gonna be novel spoilers. Anyways subaru develops into such an amazing character that respects the choice of others and their autonomy, among other things but i’ll just say those two for now!
You are watching Subaru grow up because in that world the concept of teenagers doesn't exist Once you are past 13 your an adult theybrun on Medieval rules
10:43 THANK YOU SO MUCH! Finally someone has the brains and courage to say it. Emilia does absolutely nothing for Subaru since she has a lot on her plate yet Subaru still chases after her like a dirty, shameless, simp dog that licks the dirt she steps on. And this doesn't change but somehow people still see them as a cute couple. Don't get me wrong Emilia cute af but that's all there is. She doesn't care for Subaru any more than she would care for a little stray dog begging her for food on the street. Their entire "relationship" is just Subaru simping over her which is sad for Rem because she puts effort and love toward someone who would clean the shit off Emilia's ass with his face just because she's extremely cute.
Gotta say, these episodes did it for me also. It's very interesting how low lows does this show have, yet also such high highs. I think this contrast is what kept me interested somehow. (although I am on a break on sez 2 as it managed to bore me again).
What the whole point of this arc is Subaru redeeming himself, he comes off as a selfish brat regardless of his good intentions and he makes up for it. You can understand subaru's reasoning and why he does what he does but that doesn't mean he has nothing to redeem himself for

@@WMisarus I can’t tell if it’s a lack of empathy for people just being unable to think outside of generic storylines
But Rem and other characters get a pass. It's crazy to think about.
It's just insane how good this anime is but it's so deep you can't possibly take it all in from one watch through
Yea re zero is one of those shows which gets better after rewatching
Subaru is such an underestimated protagonist, in writing he is one of the best protagonists ever made, and the best isekai protagonist.
33:49 Btw...the look in Subaru's eyes right here is my all-time favorite "Oh, fuck that! Not on my watch." face I've seen yet!
28:36 "He made Rem play twister"
A lot of judgement on a 17 year old
this tbh
Betelgeuse is such a good guy… He helped Barasu get out of his stopper.
so one thing a lot of people dont understand is why Rem was able to move after betelgeuse "made her play twister".
Rem dying: "Live..."
Subaru: "Sorry sweetie, I actually have other plans!"
subaru is a normal human being.
True, in that aspect I think Re:Zero is definitely one of the most, if not the most realistically written shows ever
Since you aren't going to be reading Re:Zero side story EX
Crushe and Felix/Feris
About a year before Subaru came to Lagunica
The Royal family was dying out from a disease Court magician Roswaal L Mathers tried really hard to to cure them
Crushe was supposed to marry the Crown Prince of the kingdom
Felix came from a noble family buut with him being born with cat ears they treated him poorly they had him locked away in the family's basement
Until Crushe heard about a hidden son from that family
The family kept denying they had a son until Crushe persuaded her fiancee to investigate the family
They found Felix really skinny and in rags
Felix's family was then exiled out of the kingdom he then inherited his families titles and land
Crushe, Felix The crown prince were inseparable they were bestfriends
Crushe and the crown prince found out that Felix had healing magic
It was too late for the king so he died.
Felix's magic managed to buy time for the queen but she too died
Then the day came for the crown prince
Crushe and The crown prince were in the castle gardens, he was laying on Crushes lap when he died
Felix tried really hard to save him.
The the Selection process came in
Felix enrolled in the White Knight passed
And swore to never to see Crushe go through that again.
They are gonna TWEAK by episode 18, I can see it from 10 yards away 🤣🤣🤣
It's okay bro. If that happens, it's just that they didn't understand the real meaning behind those words (Like the majority of the people who watched this anime, as unfortunate as it sounds)
32:33 Because the author wanted it to be :). He is just that great. Re:zero is by far my favourite story. Its crazy to think that the first season only covers 9 volumes of the novels and there are currently 36 out rn. He is currently on arc 8 and have plans for 12 arcs so I am guessing that when this series is done there is going to be around 70 volumes of the novel lmao
Peak fiction. Top 10 ep of any form of media of all time.
They cut from the anime, but this merchant, who helped Subaru, support Emilia, it seems that at least some people support her
Poor subaru get the most hate when he just try his best 😢
W double upload prez and cara
Puck is the spirit of fire, so he makes ice and so by removing the heat
19:38 his mind didn't have time to comprehend what had happened its why he was catatonic
In re zero world fire magic is used to control temperature so you can use it to blast fireballs like Roswaal did in forest or create ice shards like Emilia or Puck, who as Great spirit of fire actually doesnt use fire at all
Each season gets better. The source material is amazing
Sarcasm is a thing lol
@@CaraPrezReacts Apparently, not liking something in the series makes you less of a person than the cult fans of re:zero, haha one of the most boring fan bases in animes
I am talking about the great sprit of fire, puck.👉
Actually, it makes sense beacuse of re zero's magic system.
Highest respect to Betelgeuse 🫡💔
Maybe I'm just overthinking it, but everytime I watch this scene, I remember what Betty says about Mana being one's own life force. And if sucked too much one can die.
And in this case, I feel like Rem used the last of her mana (life) to cast that magic that would free Subaru. She was willing and actually gave up her entire life for him.
fire magic in rezero is actually Temperature magic or something like that thats why puck is a "fire" spirit
Just so you know, Best Boy Betelgeuse is voice by the same VA who does Inosuke from Demon Slayer. ^_^
Oh, I didn't know that. I knew he did Sora in No Game no Life and you can kinda hear the Beatelguese a little when he freaks out
and Kirito from SAO
That ending with the snow slowly building up onto Subaru's corpse is probably one of the best endings/cliffhangers ever. I understand that Subaru was being a bitch in the last two episodes, but you guys put it well that he isn't understood, and these episodes REALLY pound it in that he is tortured. Even when he tries to explain himself, he isn't able to because of his heart. Everything is building up in Subaru just as the snow did on him, and this last episode showed yet another outcome of that.
It also proves that the world goes on after he dies
@@JS-kb4bk
Still not confirmed
@@etam8099 It was confirmed in the ending of this video. Subaru died and had his head lopped off, yet the world still continued for a long time
@@JS-kb4bk The ending going on is just an aesthetic choice for the credits to roll.
These episodes are the only few episodes of REZERO that I remember, the way these episodes are embedded into my brain and traumatised me even to this day is a testament of how impactful this was on me
Ah my brain..... trembles
Subaru is actually all us if we ever get Isekai-ed
Not a spoiler but its just never explained
in re zero "fire" magic means the same thing as temperature control.
The fire pover is the power to manipulate temperature
Which means ice magic is fire magic in this world
Re:zero gave the stick then the carrot, that's how I like to see episode 12-13 and 14-15
In Re:Zero "Fire" magic is more like "Heat" magic actually. So you could increase or decrease heat and make ice. Confusing but yeah...
Ya'll need watch the Directors Cut because of episode 18 has more dialog other than "I love Emilia."
Can we all pay respect to those microphones that undoubtedly got covered with spit and mucus during these recording sessions?
The suffering he went through is a valid feeling, but not considering that others cant see it that way is his flaw
If Emilia knew Subaru died and tried multiple times to save her, the mansion people, and the villagers. She probably would have been comfortable letting Subaru come along. But she doesn’t have that knowledge, only Subaru does. Its another effect of his RBD
thats why you wait and watch before judging
Yeah! 15th episode is the best episode of this anime
Btw, the power system can be kinda confusing. Fire magic is kinda like temperature control in this show. Just like water magic in the series is for healing
why do you pretend that your mind is broken .
Subarus mind was really broken he had a condition called emotion overload (you have so many different strong emotions that your brain cant handle them and shuts down)
But every person has another sight of vew and for betelgeuse who also is a Soziopath (and other things) subaru is not broken because its only a state he was in .
this isn't a spoiler so don't worry! but in the anime, fire is more like temperature control. cuz cold is just the absence of heat, the magic works by taking heat away from surroundings, making it colder!
Oh yeah, boy
Peak and more peak

34:24 “2 or 3 episodes ago, Emilia said Puck is the spirit of fire.” Are you sure? Puck had ice powers, as you saw when he was fighting Elsa way back in the first few episodes.
In Re:Zero, ice spells are under the domain of fire magic, as its more so the control of heat energy than only just fire
@@TheeDragonlord Ok, that makes sense, but it’s easy to get confused by it, lol.

2. Well, I mean... she didn't survive.

Decapitate and ... *ROLL CREDITS!*.
It's so outrageous. One of the peak moments in all anime.
Ref ep 13 being so annoying. That was intentional and that was the point. Subaru can't be a great hero unless he's knocked down and overcomes insane hardships.
Knocked down down down... all the way to ZERO
BTW, people have abandoned the series after ep 13. Re:Zero fans call them fools.
I'm glad I didn't
To me, ep 13 is way more than just simply annoying, it was briliant and that's why i keep watching

I like you more hate subaru 😂.. the author really made twisted and you go in the room author lol.. good job author 😂
I mean subaru is 17 so still a child
What surprises me the most is the ability the autor have to make Subaru suffer more and more.
I'm reading the novel and my god, this guy is a psycho.
you should watch the rezero breaktime eps for season 1 and 2! they provide a lot of context to stuff the anime didnt have time to explain!!
Dang i'm pretty late, but have you watched the two OVAs? Cause you definitely should
Because you guys don't know what good entertainment is and you guys have no clue what character growth is.
you are stupid as fuck lmao
Subaru has NOTHING he needs to redeem himself for
What the whole point of this arc is Subaru redeeming himself, he comes off as a selfish brat regardless of his good intentions and he makes up for it. You can understand subaru's reasoning and why he does what he does but that doesn't mean he has nothing to redeem himself for
You both lovely !🤍
😊 thank you
