@lehyplay6961 it isnt misinformation, if od laguna = the sun, and reinhard can beat od laguna then its literally the same as saying he can beat the sun
@@UryuCifer Not exactly. He compared Od Laguna to the Sun since both are not lifeforms with a will, not that Od Laguna has similar durability to the Sun or something. @@eduhbord3373 That said, Od Laguna is almost certainly more powerful than the sun, so the original assertion, though misinformed, is likely still true.
People in the Re:zero world have like a one-in-a-million chance of being born with a divine blessing. Reinhardt was born with like three dozen. One of which is the power to gain a new divine blessing in any situation where his current ones can’t guarantee his victory.
That's partly true. There are different types of Divine Protections, and the likelihood of a person having one depends on how useful it is: 1 : 100 for useless ones 1 : 1,000 for useful ones 1 : 10,000 for somewhat rare ones 1 : 100,000 for really useful ones 1 : 1,000,000 for unique ones 1 : 10,000,000 for more than one (and the existence of those with more than one Divine Protection are considered to be strange)
@@s3a.w I think so, but I'm not sure. I've only read some of the novels so I'm basically anime-only. I just remembered seeing those stats on a fandom page.
For context: What Equidna wanted was pretty much to turn Subaru's life into what was going to be essentially her videogame. With Subaru as her "player character". Just so she could have a way to interact with the real world (because she's dead) and satisfy her own curiosity for the things that happen in the world and killing Subaru in the process as many times as she wanted until she accomplished Subaru's goal no matter to what monstrous scenarios she would have to put Subaru into. That's why the line "I will help you to reach your goal...in the end" was so important. Because she was going to "help" Subaru...eventually. When she feels that her curiosity for the world was satisfied. Which in all honesty was probably never. And when it comes to Beatrice, she pretty much told her to wait for "that person" just because she wanted to know what will happen if she did that. Regardless of how much time Beatrice would have to wait genuinely believing that someone was going to appear and be "that person".
There is more to Beako's "contract", that just that. We even know for certain that "that person" do actually exist, but leeaway was left to Beatrice to choose whoever she wants to end her "contract". The anime cut quite a few important lines that give some hints, for example : "That girl, you see, was created for a particular purpose. But I decided to use her for a different purpose than that originally intended. That is why I sent that girl far from the Sanctuary. Since a substitute objective was required, I granted the archive of forbidden books to that girl and gave that empty girl a purpose for living: to administer my knowledge and to await That Person who would someday come. I did not set a time limit. After all, it is not an issue with one set answer to begin with. As arranged, that girl’s life was linked to it, enabling her to live outside of the Sanctuary. And I was able to engage in a new inquiry: that girl’s choice. Logical, isn’t it? Of course, spending four centuries without selecting anyone is one result in itself. Having been unable to comfortably select anyone she had met to date, continuing to obey the pact while full of worry, and desiring her own death is another result" It is implied that seeing the outcome wasn't even her main objective. What is being said here, that Beako *needed* to live, so she was sent out of the Sanctuary, but the spirit can't exist without a purpose, so the purpose was given to an empty child.
You analyze Echidna's character so well on your first watch, I'm impressed. I watched the discussion part twice and it's really cool how I'm able to connect some dots of my own thanks to you guys. I love these reactions.
This season is the best. And the second part is where you get EVERYONE'S backstory, so I love it. So far we only got 3 (Rem, Wilhelm, Subaru) + part of Emilia in the OVA. There's at least 6 more to come.
Second Trial: "Behold an unthinkable present." Subaru: "What does that mean?" Second Trial: "You see a version of reality where things play out differently." Subaru: "But I can already do that." Second Trial: "...What?" Subaru: "Yeah, every time I die, the world resets and I can try to fix my mistakes." Second Trial: "Oh. Hmm... okay, give me a second. This has never happened before." Subaru: "Look, can we just skip this? I just wanted to talk to Echidna." Second Trial: "No! And if you're gonna be a smart-ass about it, then how about this: _you_ get to experience the aftermath of all your deaths! Have fun with that!" Subaru: "Wait, wha-"
This, and the next episode, are my absolute favorite episodes of any show I have ever watched. The sheer quality of character writing and worldbuilding at the same time are mind boggling. I will always be impressed by everything that happens when Subaru has an actual conversation/action of understanding with another character. That's why I love him. He may not ask or do everything that the watchers would like him to, but he will eventually always bring a mystery of how another person functions and feels into light, and it will, thanks to their interactions with him, make them one of the most interesting characters during that scene. He just works as an enhancer in a way that many MCs don't. Once again. God, I love Re:Zero.
53:54 Oh Echidna is totally manipulative and acting a certain way to try to attract Subaru. She says something like "you like girls who give their all to you right?", which means she's been watching and trying to learn how to behave to achieve her goal. I bet she's trying to act like Emilia precisely for that. 57:40 Ah, you've acknowledged it
she knows about rem since she wanted lust to act like her, she was likely just acting like a girl with interests in him. which to a certain degree, echidna IS interested in subaru. just mostly his RBD.
You should check out Echidna's speech in the novel. It's full pages without breaking paragraph, just walls of text. It actually managed to be more disturbing than the anime.
definitely think this is my favorite episode of the show so far. subaru's second trial is NUTS and i love how it continues with the trials we get later, but tying that into the start of the witches tea party is the cherry on top.
Think about what Subaru's Mom told him in episode 4 "As long as you smile in the end. Everything will be fine. What maters isn't how you start or what happens in the middle it is all in how it ends. " Subaru interprets this as the ends justify the means. His Mom says "that not exactly how I meant from you to take it. It is more like homework assignment from me." They are both saying the same thing to me. Echidna just wants that perfect outcome. His mom says the goal is important but you need to be happy with the whole journey not just the end. Both imply there may be sacrifices that need to be made. One is willing to sacrifice anything, the other will only sacrifice what you must. There are a lot of Parallels between Echidna and Subra's mom, but that is a much longer post.
Every year on Subaru's birthday, the author releases a what if story about different decisions Subaru could have made, one of them is what would have happened if he accepted the contract with Echidna, he would end up dying millions of times everyday to try out every possible scenario so that Echidna can know everything that could happen
In terms of the second trial, yeah it wasn't supposed to be busted like that. The original web novel and probably the light novel based of the web novel explained how the trial actually gets its information which the anime doesn't touch upon. The trials create a simulation based off what is written in the True Tomb of Wisdom, which only Echidna can comprehend without their mind fizzling out. The info from the first trial is pulled from the past pages, the "unthinkable present" is supposed to be a simulation of what you could have had if you made different decisions in the past. However for Subaru, things break apart. Subaru's not restrained by what is already written and essentially forces the tomb of wisdom to rewrite itself on the fly instead, also making the fates of everyone he interacts with uncertain. So when it trys to look up Subaru for creating an alternative present, the world finds a lot of loose ends to follow where it's pulling from it's previous drafts and what would have happened.
They think they cracked Echidna's character, ha-ha :) Aaaah~ How many times my impression of her character changed? At least 5 times? There are always new things to learn. She is quite a manipulative being, right? Even "that's wonderful" line served its purpose.
Echidna's character is most explored in all of the witches but it just made me more curious about her true objective & the planning she's plotting to achieve that goal. How does roswal play a role in all of this..... Everything just makes me even more curious about her. Well her curious nature just touched all of us lol
The greatest mystery of this episode is, how the fck can Satella enter in the castle of dream... Only dead people and invited by Echidna who can enter there. Satella is not even dead and Echidna really hates her
I love Ben's expressions when hearing that Echidna's behavior in the past was just acting... He was even eyeing the pillow. And while it's not clear, I think that up until this episode she was not being completely genuine not even for a single moment. She was playing Subaru all the way. Yes, she is a young version of Echidna but I doubt she was like this in her real life even at that age... And she's full of lies.
You should check out Reinhearts list of powers. It is ludicrous. The author himself has stated that Reinhardt vs the sun, Reinhardt would win, and Envy vs Rein would be an eternal draw because Envy could never intentionally hurt him
You seem to have a misunderstanding. Reinhardt is ABSOLUTELY, WITHOUT A DOUBT, the strongest character in Re Zero. Bar MAYBE Satella, maybe. Edit: fyi, there's a side story that explains what Echidna's contract ACTUALLY entails. It means that Subaru will be exploring EVERY SINGLE possibility at every turn, at every checkpoint for RBD, with the purpose of finding the actual best solution possible to each situation. This means looping for maybe thousands of years to progress a week of Subaru's life, for the rest of his existence. Echidna would force him to do that, because she's just that curious to see how things would unfold.
What misunderstanding? The anime has never gone into Reinhardt lore, obviously anime onlies are intended to be surprised when he eradicates puck. Are you dumb?
"I cannot believe reinhard beat puck." The writer of Re:Zero, Nagatsuki Tappei himself stated that; he could 1v1 Satella, but they won't be able to kill each others bcs Reinhard's cheat-like ability. that said, deleting Puck from existance isn't gonna be that hard for him.
One thing that everyone has missed on the reveal of Subaru's second task. it doesn't fit with how Emilia's works. Her first task is identical to how Subaru's works, the only addition is that Echidna's with her to watch, everything else is correct in that Emilia needs to confront who she was and what she did in her past. This "unthinkable present" doesn't fit for the tasks, but it sure does push Subaru to a level of desperation and hopelessness that he'd be willing to take any chance whatsoever was offered to him, even one given by the Witch of Greed. It's even explained that the Rem vision was preempted by Echidna, that Carmilla was sent to have Subaru see a vision of comfort shown to him - likely only to then snatch it away and leave him even more broken - so that he'd then only have Dona as a person to rely on.
The author of rezero always makes "what if's" stories in april 1st. One of those stories is about what would have happened if Subaru took Echidna's hand and made a contract. The answer is that he would have accomplished all his goals but at cost of his humanity, echidna would have made him kill himself over and over again over the most banal things just to satisfy her curiosity about the world around him. He killed himself so much he was numbed to everything and became a shell of his previous self, like a puppet in a string.
Cmon, don't put it this way. She didn't make him kill himself ever. Not even once. All of the deaths were on him and his fucked up mentality of not valuing his own life.
@@LxDization You are right, I think I got this part wrong, but like I said before Echidna went about the long way to get things done. She is responsable to let him go this route
Carmilla appreciation from Anna yesssssssss!!! She is really tragic to me. Echidna being more fleshed out and humanised is probably why but I personally dislike to hate her? In a disappointment to anger way because I've got all of her impacts on people in other arcs plus ex novels in mind. So I kind of like Typhon and Carmilla more, to me they're extremely sympathetic with their pasts and how they act and their sins etc. From the webnovel that is. Echidna's great but her victims are the most personal and I'm with Subaru in that I won't forgive her.
congrats on reaching the amazing episode that includes the "unthinkable presents" of the second trial, and the third witches tea party. Regarding witches The danger level and battle strength of the witches is not a simple thing because there are good matchups and bad matchups, strengths and weaknesses to most of them. And as strongly implied here the history and motivations of the witches seem to be different from what we were initially led to believe Nevertheless: Danger level of Witches in a fight according to Author: Satella( Envy) >> Sekhmet(Sloth) >>> Typhon (Pride)> Daphne(Gluttony) >> Echidna(Greed) > Carmilla (Lust)>>>>> Minerva(Wrath) According to Author Danger Level of The Witches From the Perspective of an Ordinary person: Envy (Satella)World level threat can kill without even intending too> Gluttony(Daphne) wants to eat you >> Lust(Carmilla) you will forget to breathe in her presence> Pride(Typhon) can break you into pieces to find out if you are bad or not>>> Greed(Echidna) rational wont attack unless she has a good reason but might screw you over out of curiousity> Sloth(Sekhmet) rational and sleepy just don’t mess with her and she won’t mess with you >>>>>>>> Wrath(Minerva) heals you Danger of witches to the world(based on what we know from novels): Envy(satella)>>Wrath(Minerva)>>>>Greed(Echidna)>>>>>Gluttony(Daphne)>Lust(Carmilla)>Pride(Typhon)>Sloth(Sekhmet)
Could a mod see about them reacting (or discussing more likely) the if/greed bonus content after they are done with this season? I think it'd be awesome to have their input on that
Did Reinhard unsheathed his sacred sword ?? That sword can't be used against unworthy opponents, right ? Doesn't that mean Puck truly is a world-ending menace ? (Even if he cooked him with one swing tho 👍)
Fun fact: Subaru actually loves Sattela (yes), unconsciously he feels love for her, (besides, Sattela has another alter ego, the witch of envy), not even he knows why, but he feels it, in the next episode you will understand why he's acting that way, because Subaru wants to hate her, but he can't This is not an spoiler, because the anime just decided to cut it, and I think they aren't going to show Shadow Garden and stuff like that, opportunities are very low
Bro it don't matter, it will be 2038 before everything gets fully explained. The anime even has the audacity of not introducing the Shadow Garden, it's like precious content is purposefully being gatekept through different media xD
Echidna is evil. But without malice. And I love her for it, if I was in Subaru's position I'd gladly give up my mortality and humanity to follow her sick and twisted adventure to satiate her curiosity. 😂

I'm surprised they of all people didn't see it coming at all. When I 1st watched it my red flag alerts for Echidna were all over the place even before the anime made it obvious.
I was like "ARE YOU STUPID?? ARE YOU REALLY ABOUT TO ACCEPT A CONTRACT YOU BARELY UNDERSTAND? RULE #1 OF CONTRACTS IS READ THE FINE PRINT!!"
Her contract is the most destructive one because she would basically be like: "What if you turned on that left corner?" Subaru: "okay" *turns left* : *dies* until Subaru figured ALL POSSIBLE OUTCOMES. It's fkin twisted.
@@LxDization
The thing is that she would only help more if he died more to know more the situation
So subaru will end being a shell of himself that is broken for so many deaths
And even if subaru can died a infinite number of times eventually she will get bored at him
After all she is bottomless greed
In the if se can see that she make eveyone survice
But the conditions are awfull
Beatrice broken for not protect the library but alive
Garfield never face the trial living now unhappy
Otto left
Emilia become a living doll
Ram hate rem seeing just a souless unkwon body
Subaru forget how to smile
And echidna lamenting that she is losing interest in subaru
It's so funny seein people react to Reinhard's power, he's the strongest living being in the world right now. Even the author said tha if Reinhard and the sun had a battle, Reinhard would win
Also the witches tea party is one of my favorite moments of Re Zero
Actually, that's a misinformation. He said that he could beat od laguna, which is a being comparable to the sun.
Here's the QnA in question:
Q: How about Od Laguna versus Reinhard?
A: Od Laguna isn’t really a lifeform with a will, so it isn’t generally hostile towards anyone. It’s similar to the sun. Reinhard would win if they fought, though.
@@eduhbord3373 That said, Od Laguna is almost certainly more powerful than the sun, so the original assertion, though misinformed, is likely still true.
@@lehyplay6961 It would be funny to see Reinhard destroying what should be, if I'm not mistaken, intangible
People in the Re:zero world have like a one-in-a-million chance of being born with a divine blessing. Reinhardt was born with like three dozen. One of which is the power to gain a new divine blessing in any situation where his current ones can’t guarantee his victory.
That's partly true. There are different types of Divine Protections, and the likelihood of a person having one depends on how useful it is:
1 : 100 for useless ones
1 : 1,000 for useful ones
1 : 10,000 for somewhat rare ones
1 : 100,000 for really useful ones
1 : 1,000,000 for unique ones
1 : 10,000,000 for more than one (and the existence of those with more than one Divine Protection are considered to be strange)
@@s3a.w I think so, but I'm not sure. I've only read some of the novels so I'm basically anime-only. I just remembered seeing those stats on a fandom page.
My favorite kind of Echidna is when she’s spinning in the microwave
For context:
What Equidna wanted was pretty much to turn Subaru's life into what was going to be essentially her videogame.
The anime cut quite a few important lines that give some hints, for example :
"That girl, you see, was created for a particular purpose. Having been unable to comfortably select anyone she had met to date, continuing to obey the pact while full of worry, and desiring her own death is another result"
It is implied that seeing the outcome wasn't even her main objective. What is being said here, that Beako *needed* to live, so she was sent out of the Sanctuary, but the spirit can't exist without a purpose, so the purpose was given to an empty child.
I just wonder what would be the fate of "those two other characters" if Enchilada managed to contract with Subaru.

I know. I'm just trying to keep it as spoiler free as possible.
LOL@ Ben with his Echidna pillow, saying "I love Echnidna" right before the veil of sanity comes off.
This is the drop I’ve been waiting for.
Reinhard is like the gojo of this universe
More like yoriichi/saitama he's not gonna be defeated even if everyone in that world jumps him
@@aarongonzaga7878
Go/Jo could never
I like how Anna is like a “Witch of Magnanimity,” allowing Ben to hug a Echidna pillow the whole time, lol.
There's at least 6 more to come.
reinhardt is the strongest characters in the series so him beating puck made sense
He could actually be one of the strongest in any series. 💪
He's the Saitama of the Re:ZERO universe.
@@Omar_Al_SeddikConsidering what he does later on, this comparison is apt on multiple levels.
He actually destroyed the world and rebuild it in this fight lol
Reinhard could beat Entropy. It would take *two* swings of his sword but that's all.
great reaction, worth the wait. exactly how i felt when i watch this ep the first time ❤
Second Trial: "Behold an unthinkable present."
Subaru: "What does that mean?"
Second Trial: "You see a version of reality where things play out differently."
Subaru: "But I can already do that."
Second Trial: "...What?"
Subaru: "Yeah, every time I die, the world resets and I can try to fix my mistakes."
Second Trial: "Oh. Hmm... okay, give me a second. This has never happened before."
Subaru: "Look, can we just skip this? I just wanted to talk to Echidna."
Second Trial: "No! And if you're gonna be a smart-ass about it, then how about this: _you_ get to experience the aftermath of all your deaths! Have fun with that!"
Subaru: "Wait, wha-"
Fun fact, when Reinhard killed Puck, he also split the world and recreated it, unfrozen
bruh
Always love the Hi intro!❤❤❤
You should check out Echidna's speech in the novel.
It's full pages without breaking paragraph, just walls of text. It actually managed to be more disturbing than the anime.
The way that i've been pressing f5 waiting for this video
Waiting for that next video
definitely think this is my favorite episode of the show so far. subaru's second trial is NUTS and i love how it continues with the trials we get later, but tying that into the start of the witches tea party is the cherry on top.
It’s all uphill from here! So many amazing episodes coming up!
Listened yo this in the car on the drive back. 35 minutes in and just realized the Echidna tshirt.
Nice.
Love both of you guys!! Really your reaction made my day❤
Every year on Subaru's birthday, the author releases a what if story about different decisions Subaru could have made, one of them is what would have happened if he accepted the contract with Echidna, he would end up dying millions of times everyday to try out every possible scenario so that Echidna can know everything that could happen
In simpler terms, Echidna is a hardcore gamer vying to achieve all the available cgs in the game, the good endings and the bad endings.
After this episode we had to wait for an entire season to get more. Talk about cliffhanger, lol!
They think they cracked Echidna's character, ha-ha :) Aaaah~ How many times my impression of her character changed? At least 5 times? There are always new things to learn. She is quite a manipulative being, right? Even "that's wonderful" line served its purpose.
I was in bed watching these on my phone but when I saw it was Witch's Tea Party I got up to go watch the full length version on my computer lmao
That was Re:Zero and THAT was the biggest cliffhanger you could possibly get. xD btw can you share where did you buy that pillow? I want one!!
Echidna's character is most explored in all of the witches but it just made me more curious about her true objective & the planning she's plotting to achieve that goal. How does roswal play a role in all of this..... Everything just makes me even more curious about her. Well her curious nature just touched all of us lol
It's good you guys feel like you're on a roller coaster, I feel like I'm on a slow ass train tho. Still love your reactions 🙃

reinhard is the strongest character in the series
1:06:13 this trigger the if story that exist in light novel, if you interested to read
Satella:" Okay i pull up , Ieshteiru time "
The greatest mystery of this episode is, how the fck can Satella enter in the castle of dream... Only dead people and invited by Echidna who can enter there. Satella is not even dead and Echidna really hates her
Bro 1 episode per week is too cruel for me. Been watching repeatedly this series again and again. Keep it up your discussion is by far the best.❤
42:57 he had chipt terth because Petelgeuse demage him that loop before he transform
I need that echidna pillow 🧐
Echidna watches reaction videos because she’s curious about how normal people react to things
Would love to see there reaction to the if greed route
I love Ben's expressions when hearing that Echidna's behavior in the past was just acting... He was even eyeing the pillow. And while it's not clear, I think that up until this episode she was not being completely genuine not even for a single moment. She was playing Subaru all the way. Yes, she is a young version of Echidna but I doubt she was like this in her real life even at that age... And she's full of lies.
That shirt Ben is wearing this episode is pretty fire, cant lie.
Subaru must reach Steins Gate!
Maaya Sakamoto, the JP VA for Echidna actually did her speech in one take.
Bro on the left would take the deal ngl I would too
"I cannot believe reinhard beat puck."
The writer of Re:Zero, Nagatsuki Tappei himself stated that;
he could 1v1 Satella, but they won't be able to kill each others bcs Reinhard's cheat-like ability.
that said, deleting Puck from existance isn't gonna be that hard for him.
The pillow 😭
"Legally, her actions are questionable.
Morally, she's disgusting
Personally, I like her"
-Ben, probably
Now it's time to get ready for next weeks "Cut Content" 😉
There's a what if novel of subaru taking the contract and what happens if he did
Reinhard actually destroyed the world and rebuild it by slashing Puck lol
Love❤❤❤❤
Reinhard will clap entire re zero universe with neg diff 😂😂 he can even destroy the world if he wants to and resurrect it later 😂
And as strongly implied here the history and motivations of the witches seem to be different from what we were initially led to believe Nevertheless:
Danger level of Witches in a fight according to Author:
Satella( Envy) >> Sekhmet(Sloth) >>> Typhon (Pride)> Daphne(Gluttony) >> Echidna(Greed) > Carmilla (Lust)>>>>> Minerva(Wrath)
According to Author Danger Level of The Witches From the Perspective of an Ordinary person:
Envy (Satella)World level threat can kill without even intending too> Gluttony(Daphne) wants to eat you >> Lust(Carmilla) you will forget to breathe in her presence> Pride(Typhon) can break you into pieces to find out if you are bad or not>>> Greed(Echidna) rational wont attack unless she has a good reason but might screw you over out of curiousity> Sloth(Sekhmet) rational and sleepy just don’t mess with her and she won’t mess with you >>>>>>>> Wrath(Minerva) heals you
Danger of witches to the world(based on what we know from novels):
Envy(satella)>>Wrath(Minerva)>>>>Greed(Echidna)>>>>>Gluttony(Daphne)>Lust(Carmilla)>Pride(Typhon)>Sloth(Sekhmet)
I think Ben is lost in the sauce tbh 😂😂😂
It would be cool if those two react Overlord later

Reinhard solos the ReZero verse. Stalemate with Envy.
Could a mod see about them reacting (or discussing more likely) the if/greed bonus content after they are done with this season? I think it'd be awesome to have their input on that
I remember loving the cliffhangers, I suppose.
Will you guys be reacting to One Piece Live Action?
Did Reinhard unsheathed his sacred sword ??
That sword can't be used against unworthy opponents, right ?
Doesn't that mean Puck truly is a world-ending menace ? (Even if he cooked him with one swing tho 👍)
The "worthyness" is not related to power, but to the heart. Not saying Puck isn't that threatening though, just thought I should mention that

Fun fact: Subaru actually loves Sattela (yes), unconsciously he feels love for her, (besides, Sattela has another alter ego, the witch of envy), not even he knows why, but he feels it, in the next episode you will understand why he's acting that way, because Subaru wants to hate her, but he can't
This is not an spoiler, because the anime just decided to cut it, and I think they aren't going to show Shadow Garden and stuff like that, opportunities are very low
Bro it don't matter, it will be 2038 before everything gets fully explained. The anime even has the audacity of not introducing the Shadow Garden, it's like precious content is purposefully being gatekept through different media xD
