    That tomato was beautiful 😍!!
    Amazing amount of apple sauce. With 12 kids still at home, every bit honestly does count. Great job!

    Was the water over the top of the jars??? You remind me of when my mom and I used to can around the clock. We would set a alarm clock to take things out of the canner.

      Water bathing yes over the top. Pressure canning no not over the top. Those must be special memories.

    What do you use to thicken your canned peach pie filling?

    • @mommabear2many
      @mommabear2many  ปีที่แล้ว

      To can correctly you need clear jel. I do not use clear jell I'm a bit of a rebel. I use cornstarch or arrowroot powder.

    • @karenm7433
      @karenm7433 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mommabear2many I do use clearjel. I was just curious. I might try arrowroot

    • @mommabear2many
      @mommabear2many  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@karenm7433 it’s not recommended by usda. But I do know a lot of old timers and Amish that use cornstarch.

      Walmart, thrift stores, yard sales.
