Ohh, Wow! Long time since I’ve seen an acceleration like that. You could probably reach top speed in your living room. Seems to me it hits that 48 kph in a second or so. Amazing. Hope the gears and motor can handle it - but it looks like they do. Looks to go pretty straight too when accelarating too. Massive thumbs up for sharing the run.
Trf is on a complete different level. I run a trf211xm and all the other Tamiya 2wd are toys although I love the old style Nice run, thx for sharing....
Just getting back into RC after 30+ years and recently picked up a Yokomo YZ2 kit. Think I might have to look into one of these as a second option though! I always ran Tamiya's back in the 80's, so the nostalgia factor is very strong.
Love that performance, and the acceleration my god. I just ordered a 8,5turn at a sale, and Im used to 13,5turn. But first Ill play with bigger pinnions, since nothing gets hot now.
And this is why Wheeler (4wd 1/10th Buggy) is my favorite class. That runs like the Dickens. I don't race anymore but I run my race buggies (Xray XB4, Schumi Cat K1, and Tamiya DB-01 RRR) all the time. They are just the best driving RCs and most fun to play with. Like AWD F1 cars for the dirt. You did a great job on that buggy Glenn. 👍👍 PS, you should get it out to a proper off road track. 😉
Theibault Thanks buddy, Yes it’s been pretty awesome playing with something modern, I was really impressed with it running, nothing like a Grasshopper 😂👊🏻 Thanks for stopping by 😊👊🏻
Fookin hell Glen. Just think what that can do. If you were an expert. Not taking anything away from your skills but you admit to being out of your depth with kit like this. As I would be. But this thing could be epic buy the looks of your fist run. Brilliant.
wow that thing is fast and supper smooth. its so quite you can only hear the tire noise. would be interesting if you put those electrics in a grass hopper
Nice, your getting into the real high tech stuff there. You heading back to the uk soon or staying in Canada for a bit? My shipping arrived in oz a few weeks ago so got all my RC’s to unpack soon 😉👍🏻
calvin1mac I’m here until the end of the year, then I’ll have to make some decisions 😬 Yes I’ve had a few from local sites over here, but most of the stuff comes from the Facebook group 👊🏻
Just seen this after thinking of going for a Plasma Edge 2 then upgrading to aluminium parts over £100, seems a better bet to get one of these bad boys from the start
That moment when a guy who just drives normal Tamiya cars drive a REAL "High Performance Racing Off Road Buggy" xD xD ;) Just kidding :P Love the smooth sound! wehiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
sorry couldn't resist a stupid comment lol. love your channel i should add 👍 although i don't do rc vehicles nowaday,i still love anything rc especially tamiya cars. i did have a manta ray back in the early 90's and a kid at my primary school back in 80's had a fox. i went round to his house once and watched him driving it (he lent me the instruction manual too for a week lol). i used to drool over the catalogue (had the one s with the bigwig and egress on cover) good times lol great collection i must add that you have 😀
TAMIYA Legends did u do a build video of this? what motor and esc did u use? so let me get this right the car crashed its a right off is that right did u do a tt01 like make it this fast thanks great video
Just read in discription 5950kv, yep that explains why it's a rocket on just 2S. The fact your getting both good acceleration and top speed without the motor getting too hot is a good indication that by fluke it's geared just right 😁 You probably could get another 10-15k/h out of it if you geard it higher but punch and motor temps will suffer. The way it seems in this video, very nice 👌
@@TAMIYALegends I mean new L1, not k1. The belt of L1 seems to have too much drive resistance by the tensioner. The noise is also almost like a gear drive. It's loud. However, the chassis balance of the L1 is just as good as the latest buggy.

Reach top speed in the living room 😂😂👊🏻. That made me chuckle my friend, thanks for your support 👊🏻
This is the video that made me want to get back into RC cars after 30 years.
The acceleration, speed, smoothness and noise of this car got me hooked!
All the aggro you had getting that together...... but blimey Glenn that’s quick. Sounds lovely as well👍👍👍👍
Darren Grimmer
Yeah it was an epic first outing with it my friend, unfortunately it all went downhill after that 😭😭😭
That flies! You’ve inspired me. I’m buying one of these. What an awesome set up. Go tamiya. Go Glen!

I totally agree, there’s nothing like the old Tamiya stuff 😊👊🏻
Glen just a little more tuning and you will hit 50mph.
Brad Kalman
Yeah if you just wanted flat out straight line speed, turn the motor up and gear ratio, I bet that thing would be closer to 60mph 🚗💨💨
So are you going to do that Glen?
Please, check every Tamiya with GM-TUBE before unboxing/assembling. Cesium-137 threat is real.
So much grip.
