It makes me so happy that companies like Tamiya and Associated are still in business after 40ish years. I still have an original Midnight Pumpkin and Wild Willy from my dad :)

Great review. Wasn't initially interested by this kit however it looks like Tamiya has a clear direction and contemporary market understanding. A stock class with this chassis would be awesome to see going around the track.
I am glad to see a full on kit. I miss the true depth of the RC hobby. When I seen this new buggy became very excited this appears to be an awesome buggy.
Yeah, the RTR craze has made the hobby less fun. People dont seem to want to build RC cars anymore, Arrma even had trouble selling their rollers, because people rather bought the RTRs.
Just went to the hobby shop to pick up a bbx. While chatting brought up your video is why I was buying the kit to find out you filmed you test drive there. Really made my day. Love your content and look forward to more.
Looks really good and great to see Tamiya starting to finally make new chassis vs just constantly re-releasing old designs. I used to be a massive tamiya collector till I moved to lego but now I am getting out of lego this might get me back into tamiya rc.
Finally! I've been waiting for so long to see a review of the BBX since it was announced. I'll be waiting to hear long term reviews of this buggy but so far it's looking so good. Well done tamiya!
My lovely wife has just bought me one of these for my birthday. First new RC for 12 years! Can’t believe it but I have to wait for end of the month to open it 😢😂
Great job on the review, especially all the detail pics during the building process. And I agree that gives a nod to the Tamiya Super Champ...it is like a modern version of the SC.
I am in the process of building mine right now. I think it's a great build, much better quality (and higher price) than before. Saw in another channel that 3 O-rings on the shaft of the rear shocks fixes the dogbone coming out of the tranny issue. Also, the kit seems to be a bit bigger than 1/10 scale... at least to me. Great video!
Excellent review on this, thanks for putting it together, and answers a lot of questions that are floating around about it. I wasn't to bothered about it on it's initial announcement but seeing it in a real world environment, definitely one to consider now. Surely Tamiya are on to a winner with this one! They are finally back to doing what they do best. I wonder if they will offer a single tyre and wheel to go on the back as an option or whether they will make you buy a set of 4?
I still don't understand how my 80's Tamiya Buggy was so much better! Was all waterproof and alloy parts all over. Tires, wheels and all details was amazing!
I wanted a Super Champ in the early 1980's but they were expensive! $330 in 1982 would be just about $1000 now adjusted for inflation. So the BBX costs like 1/3 of the Super Champ did. (And the Futaba gear to go with it was even worse!)
I love the softer long travel suspension setup! Gives me that Kyosho Rampage Pro truck vibe, hope Tamiya introduces a chalanger to it based on this buggy.
Great presentation and thanks for showing all the detail. Your red bodydesign looks really cool. But for some reasons it might also work without the body parts (my mind).

Do you think the plastic gears would take a little more motor to clear the jump? Or perhaps theres room for a larger pinion / lower gear ratio?
What size pinion did you pair with that 17.5T brushless motor?
I think I heard 26T in the video
Please do a follow up with this car! Shock tuning and maybe see how it does in a race? I’d be very interested

Full ball bearings! Welcome Tamiya to the 21st century. Let's wait another 20 years for brushless technology.
what color paint did you use?
What servo can you recommend?
How would you compare it to the Astute TD2?
TD2 is more fit for a finished track to me. The BB-01 is more of a buggy for an old school backyard track or fun in a dirt lot.
Will it fit standard 2.2 buggy wheels? Looks tight on the rear.
How do you adjust the ball diff?
