I have always loved your style of portrait painting. It does justice to the transperancy of watercolours. If ever you create a course for portrait painting, I would love to be your student.

Eric this is gorgeous I like how your paintings are very clean and yet reflect the beauty of the person. Thank you for sharing. Can you show or do a portrait of a person with wrinkles

A smile uses most of the muscles in the face not only the mouth , nuances so subtle that you must study your subject, even trying to "feel" the subjects face in your own, a rather abstract thing but it's important you feel that face..at least I've found that to help.

You have finally convinced me to try a portrait (of someone other than my cats.) It didn't turn out perfect, but wasn't too bad, either. Thanks.

I did a few portraits recently and it’s very challenging. One in particular was harder because of the eyes. I thought it came out pretty good but the client wanted me to change how her eyebrows looked. I did. Now it’s her husband wanting me to change how her nose looks. As a professional artist how do you handle a customer wanting changes to your art? Do you refuse? Do you work on it until they are happy? I’m just wondering because this is the only client that has requested changes. I want to make sure I have a good protocol in place for my next commission.
I love that you explain how to paint this portrait. I watch a lot of videos and they don’t explain much on how to get structure. Also to stress the importance of the drawing in the beginning is very helpful. I haven’t drawn much detail in the beginning but I might focus more on that to get it more accurate.
Your painting is beautiful and I appreciate you sharing your process with me.

There's no simple answer to that. Usually, I'll try to accommodate what they ask for. But there I do have to communicate the expectation beforehand. Showing them example of my works. If they are ok with it then we'll continue the commission process.

that would be so frustrating trying to please the client going back and forth but like you said happy clients is important.

Great work, as usual. The thing with finding subjects to paint is that there is never a subject that cant be painted. Especially since the Female species exists. See History of art. :)
