hey, I'm a figure skater but recently I fell in love with roller skating too and I wanted to say that when your toes can't reach the front, it's probably too big. It's normal to be able to move your heal a tiny bit, as long as the rest of your foot is still touching the boot tightly. Like you said, your toes shouldnt be crushed at the end, but it's normal and even better if your feet fit perfectly in the shoe so that they will touch but when you move forward, it won't hurt your toes.

The german site for the Lunaskates, Rollenwelt, has a bit messed up sizing chart. When the Lunaskates came out last december (in germany at least they launched by then) the size chart pointed me to a EU size 40. My feet are 24.6cm long and usually a 38.5/39, depending on how the shoes fit. I send them back for a 39 and they have inner measures of 25.3cm, so they would be more my fit. Still would like them to fit a bit more snug, but a 38 has inner measurements of 24.5cm which might be too small. But sizing is always tricky for me, so I always go first by measures in centimeters and then in sizes and hope for the best. The Lunaskates took a bit of breaking in for me, they felt pretty stiff for a while but now are really comfortable and I really love the plate. The moxi Lollys are way more flexible, but I like both of them. Still saving up to get myself a jackboot with a high end plate.
Also: loved the wheels on the Lunaskates. They were really great and I gave them to my nephew who is now going at it in my old and way too big chaya skates until next year, when I will buy him some new skates for himself.

I also have the Luna skates and I discovered a pain in the balls of my right foot. To be exact: the bone of my big toe. I figured it might be because they fit fairly tight and they aren’t wide enough for my feet? Although I think they are the right size for me. Did you have any issues with this kind of pain?

I'm just in the process of buying some Skates and came across Luna, and they look fabulous, but they only do my size in Black! Which for a roller skate is a bit boring! Hey! Really great review! 👍 Thank you! :)))
I had right the same problem with the Beach Bunny sizing - the pair I got was way too large even though all the sellers and the official Moxi's size chart recommended me to go for the size I've eventually bought (US 6, EU 38). But their insole was 25cm long when all of my regular shoes and boots are 24 (and still feel rather roomy!)
So, yeh. Skates sizing on the most of websites sucks!
I thought about buying myself some Luna Skates but for some reason they don't produce skates for my size... 🤷‍♀️

Hi, I really like your videos! Me too, I ordered the Lunas a few weeks ago, I ordered a German 38 which is my regular shoe size. And they fit really ok. I think in the front a 37 would be better but the boot is pretty tight on the sides and on the "pressure points" you mentioned (it is really uncomfortable in the beginning!) so I sticked to the 38. I found the size recommandations while ordering also confusing, expecting my regular size being too small. But in fact it fits or is even a tiny bit too large.

I got the cheapest rollerskates I could find a while ago and am now regretting that decision now that I'm skating more often. Especially the fact that the skates I currently own don't have an adjustable toestop and the one that comes on the skate is way to short so I can't use them. So I've been thinking of getting new skates with an adjustable toe stop and have been contemplating if I'd rather get the Luna Skates or the Beach Bunnies as they are similar in price, so this video was very helpful. Still not quite sure which one I will go for 😂 But I do have a better understanding of the differences between the two.

Hi Philip, I couldn’t say to be honest... I use the moxis with harder wheels (Fundaes which are 92 A) for the skatepark and the Lunas with soft wheels (Radar 78 A) for flat ground skating. But of course the wheels can be interchanged... and the boot, well, maybe the Luna wins marginally in that category :) I hope to make an update vid soon.

I have the Pink Luna skates and I love them even though the boot is coming off of the heel a bit. Since the skates where one size too large anyway I realised that one contra point for luna skates is the limitied options of smaller sizes in different colours. They just released a new collection in beautiful colours wich is now available in other countries as well but sadly only the Pink ones are available in size 37 and those have a bit of a different quality. All of the other models are only size 38 and up.

Hey! Just came across this video and your other one today as I was researching the Luna skates. I am actually about to order a pair, but completely confused by the sizing of them. When looking at rollerwelt.de, they seem to suggest to order a size or two bigger than the measurement of your feet, but when watching your videos you seem to suggest to go a size or two down.. Do you have any more info on that? Like how does your foot's measurement relate to the size you picked? (as in, measuring from heel to toe and the corresponding size?)
Maybe a bit of a big question, but I'm certain this could be incredibly helpful for more people like me that have come across this skate and are having a hard time finding some more reviews/clarification on these skates and their sizing. :)
Thanks for the videos by the way! They have convinced me that the Luna skates are pretty awesome!

ok, my shoe size is 38, my foot length is 24 cm, rollenwelt.de recommends for Lunas size 39. Imo they are wrong, I ordered them in 38 and still have room in the front

    • @Jana-mk4hm
      @Jana-mk4hm  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Hi Munnimun, I also ordered the skates on the same site and measured my foot, which was exactly 24,2 cm from heel to toe. So the recommendation in the sizing chart was a size 39. But I agree with Laura that the chart isn't the best reference, and that a size 38 would have fit better also for me! So I would NOT recommend going one or two sizes up, but rather a size down. As I found out with the Moxis, it's okay for rollerskates to feel more cramped than normal shoes and to have less room in the front than you are used to. I have the Moxis in a size 6 now which corresponds to a German 37-38, so they are really tight but I prefer their fit. This is subjective opinion, but yes I would go a size smaller. Hope this helps! :)

Hi! Thanks for the useful review! Last week I also bought Luna skates. I love almost everything about them but… they’re also a bit too big for me. Despite the measurements I took before buying the skates, I was convinced my foot is longer than it actually is (also based on the measurements of my other skates), so I bought size 40, thinking it will be only 3mm longer than my foot. Now I realize they’re about 8mm too large, partially also because the skate is larger than it claims to be - the insole is 260mm long, instead of 258mm. So I’m wondering - is the insole of size 39 really 252mm or is it also a bit larger? Because then I could consider buying size 39.

I did put in a thicker and more supportive insole, as well as a foam insert to fill out the toe box. I can skate in them but either way they are not my go to skates for other reasons as well - I'm used to Chaya Karma's which are a completely different skate in terms of ankle support and heel height. I still believe that size 39 would have been a better fit for me because I'm also used to skates that are very snug, and I'll try to keep that in mind the next time I decide to treat myself to a new pair of skates :D

My foot meassures 247 mm, so I decided to get a size 39 and I think it’s the correct one for me. Feels roomier in the toebox. My first skates were Chaya Ellites size 38 and now that I got my pair of Lunas, I realize there were a size too small … I see it so clearly that I decided to sell them. This are a better fit for me!

You are a size 8 in womens and I'm a size 7 in us womens , the moxi size 6 skate barely fits, it does but its extremely tight. Odd 🤔

Hi Reut sorry for the late reply, I think my feet are 24,2 and I have a size 6, size 7 was too big for me too! The size 6 are definitely a tight fit but I think they would still work for you too...

A size 39 fits a guy size 41 ... damn I'm the only guy that feet don't shrink in tight shoes.

Skate sizing is so annoying. And a lot of people dont know that skates aren't supposed to fit like sneakers, they're supposed to be snugger, almost like a sock.
