    Notes: you want shoe to touch every part of your foot. Shoe might feel cramped at first but after tying up laces all the way to the top, it pulls your heel back. After tying your laces, you should be able to wiggle your toes but not feel like your foot can shift back and forth. Your feet should be lying flat. Okay if it brushes up against the front sides slightly but not okay if it feels like it will push thru the front front. Make sure toes are not feeling cramped in the toe box. Make sure toe is touching the front of skate. You want it as tight as possible without toes curling. Make sure heel isn’t lifting when shoe is tied . beach bunny 1/2 to 1 shoe size down, fames size 2 down and Lolly is 1.5 down. Beach bunny are stiff and fames are v cushioned. Lillie’s are more narrow but forms to your feet. Lady size 9 = beach bunny 8. Fames size 7. I dont think they said the size of the Lollies. Half sizers should put in shoe insoles instead of 2 socks on.

    I wish there were more skate shops in Europe. :( I really like the point about it being more environmentally friendly if you need to return/exchange, providing jobs etc. Also for sizing....I am one of those unfortunate people that are in-between sizes.

      Yeah Europe is really lacking in this departement. The next shop that locally sells Rollerskates in my country would be about 4hours away from me. At first I wanted to get some Moxi Lollys next year but a german brand is launching their new modells in december. They are from Hamburg and I really want to support them cause their skates seem like they are so good and even if I can't buy them locally I'm still able to purchase them from a Company from my country. Still would want a skateshop that's not so far away to be able to go there more often for supplies. We actually do have skateshops, but they are boarders only and the area I live in doesn't really have a rollerskate community (working on that :D). Might be up to me to start my own shop once I have learned much more about skating :D

      It's only highly popularized in Southern California, Northern California and the PNW (Pacific North West) don't have any shops that are specialized roller skate/ roller blade shops. It just rains too much for outdoor skating to be popular, and it's fairly cold for 9 months out of the year. You can find skate info though at roller rinks if you're near any! If you can, try big outdoor/sports chain stores, because they usually have some skates that you can try on. Hope this helps anyone who comes across this comment!

    if they hurt at all, they do not fit. do not injure your feet with ill-fitting shoes. immediately send them back and search for a bigger size or different fitting brand.
    you want skates to fit just right so your foot and ankle are secure in the skate. you do not want any pain.

      I tried two sizes, both fit perfectly in the other ways that are described. Only difference they have is that my big toe touches the front of the boot in the smaller size and it doesn't with the bigger size. I don't know which one to go for.

      It saves the metal pieces from breaking.

    • @MystiqueRisingSun
      @MystiqueRisingSun 4 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      It's actually common in the artistic world. As Te Bu said, it saves the speed hooks a little wear and tear, but it also doesn't take as long to lace them up...both are great aspects when artistic skating. You can change your wheels, your stops, bearings, cushions, laces, etc...but - unfortunately - you can't just "change" the speed hooks. Artistic skaters will do everything they can to prevent the hooks from breaking. From artistic skating to skate parks, if you skate a lot and have a boot that has the hooks, it really helps preserve them as long as possible. I got my first artistic skates when I was 12, and had them until I was well into my 30's, an artistic skater at my local rink taught me that trick when I got them, never had an issue with the hooks. 20+ years of use, not one hook ever bent in.

    • @Njx063
      @Njx063 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Having one coherent sizing system without splitting it into women's and men's seems way easier and less likely to cause trouble. Like in europe size 38 is the same for everyone. Is there any hidden benefit for these us size systems? Well I guess the same can be argued for celsius and fahrenheit, I guess.

    • @conviresco9514

      No our sizing sucks period and there are even variations of different sized for the same size, different company.

    • @lurklingX
      @lurklingX หลายเดือนก่อน

      and don't even get us started on "vanity sizes". (companies intentionally run the sizes bigger and say it's a smaller size. so that people who are obsessed with numbers can find that ONE company where they can be a pants size 10 instead of 12-14. or a dress size 8 when they should be a 9-10.) i HATE shopping because of this. guys have it way easier. things are more consistent. i cross the aisle sometimes and am just blown away at the simplicity. pants inseam and waist, in inches. DONE.
      hidden benefit.... capitalism?

    "you giving someone money to get groceries" that sentence must go further!!! just sticking up for my fellow small farmer skaters- most small farms or farmers market vendors accept SNAP/WIC/SeniorBucks, so affordability ought not discourage anyone from buying and supporting local food. Also, most small farms will work with you if you find your financial situation doesn't lend itself to farmers market shopping/CSA boxes; often the farm has put aside some $ to subsidize shares and have modified payment plans available. If the cost is still prohibitive, most small farmers will teach you how to grow things (maybe even sell seed/seedlings to you at cost)! Some offer work-shares, and all are willing to lend their knowledge. Also most often, small farmers are fighting for YOU, responsible land management, and worker's rights everyday (so most folx CAN choose to spend a weekend rolling on wheels)

    As someone with a size 9.5-10 womens shoe size, size 8 men's (depending on the brand,) i don't feel super confident with a fitting like this. I've had shoe shop attendants tell me i can go smaller and taken damage to my pinky toe nails (they curl under when compressed, i REALLY need wide toe boxes but a lot of brands just don't make shoes that way). I bought men's skates in size 8 and they fit great, no sliding back and forth. I think it's hard to really get the perfect fitting skate when Moxis come stock in only full sizes and no wide/narrow options like regular roller skates. I would encourage people to look at artistic skate boots if they are having foot pain because there are so many more options including split widths and Riedell will even make 1/4 sizes. Then there is the whole world of custom boots.

    • @ertfgghhhh
      @ertfgghhhh 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Moxi is made by riedell. Each skate company are unique. Some are wide. Some are narrow. Depends on what ur feet need.(ex. I have wide feet but regular heels. My toes are also the same length.)

    • @NatashaEstrada
      @NatashaEstrada 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@ertfgghhhh I am aware that Riedell makes Moxi. But Moxi doesn't offer the full-size options that Riedell does. They don't offer 1/2 sizes in most styles and they don't offer wide widths even as a special order. Riedell offers 1/2 and wide widths in most of their stock styles. Though Riedell's last tends to run narrow compared to other skate boot brands like Jackson Ultima or Risport. There are also other brands like Edea that make a full line of skate boot especially for roller skating.
      Also, artistic boots above a certain level also start to become available in split widths.
      Proper skate fit becomes really important when you really start to press into your edges and start working on your turns. So I encourage people to look beyond the 1 or 2 brands that come in fun colors. Also getting the skate plate that is the right length for you is so important.

    • @NatashaEstrada

    So if I wear a 8 or 8.5 in women, what size would I get in the impala skates?

    What about low cut boots? Like riedells? My husband got me skates size 8 because I’m a size 8 in women’s (really I’m like a 7.5 but my feet are wide) what size would you recommend for me?
