my DREAM would be darker colours. I absolutely LOVE the Moxi Lollys, and the addition of the black Lollys honestly were a dream come true... But I think for us more gothically inclined it would be great to have darker lollies with black heels instead of brown. Like a beautiful indigo/dark green addition with a black heel! Absolute dream.

Yea I want more androgynous options, I love the lollies and how comfortable they are but I want to feel badass in them lol girly things personally dont make me feel badass. And in a beach area they fit in but I'm in a woodsy area where the entire beach bunny line would put a huge spotlight on me I dont want lol
Speaking of woodsy, I always thought it would be cool (especially with the black) if the lining be a plaid print like a flannel shirt!
Ah the fabric and colors usually used to make: Ben Davis/Dickies (pants) and military/army uniforms. I like the color shades in green camouflage, brown camo, and grey camo (the print too).

The Beach Bunnies should be fine for you! I have wide feet and I have those. I'm not a beginner, but I'm also not an expert at skating. I have my derby skates for indoor skating, but I found the Beach Bunnies work fine for outdoor skating! They are cheap too which is great, especially for beginners.
Pros:
-The wheels are great for outdoor skating, slim so they don't catch a bunch of rocks, but soft so they roll over the cracks.
-The boot is comfortable and easy to tighten or loosen as needed.
-Cushioned on the inside so comfy for beginners.
-Cute skates, get lots of compliments, and made of a vegan material if that's important to you.
Cons:
-The toe stop is tiny so if you need to use it for climbing up a ramp or up a hill of some kind, or to go down a hill backwards while dragging your toe stop, that can be a pain. I'm buying a larger toe stop that I use for derby just for my outdoor skates.
-The wheels kind of drag no matter how loose the nut is. I'm going to replace the ball bearings to see if that helps.
-I have heard from more experienced skaters that the plate is heavier than the more expensive models. I personally don't notice yet, nor do I mind at the moment because I figure it strengthens my legs and it's not like I'm doing anything crazy.
To reiterate, I'm sort of upgrading them by giving them a new toe stop and new ball bearings. I might get better outdoor wheels later on too. That being said, they are good for a beginner looking for a discount and can be upgraded slightly later.
Size-wise: My feet, again, are wide. They run between a 10.5 and 11 for size. So, for the Beach Bunnies, I got a size 10 (equals an 11-11.5 in shoes). Hope that makes sense!
Ginger Jessie Talks this helps so much as i’m currently trying to figure out which ones to get. I’ve never skated at ALL so this helps choose but i’m still confused about the shoe size. When you say 11-11.5 is that in men’s shoe size or women’s shoe size?

I know, I would! I’m trying to learn but my feet hurt. I’ve bought a size up in another brand and they still take a toll on my feet 😬 no one makes good wide foot skates. No one.

I've heard from Indy Jamma Jones that the suede moxis would mold to your feet. so it would still be comfortable for wide feet
iamjaleezalove wide-foot skater here. Have you tried the Sure-Grip Fame skates? I’m an 11W in women’s shoes, which is a 10 in those skates and they are fantastic. At first, I was considering the Moxi brand but then I saw that I’d have to pay extra for wide skates so, nah on that. The Fames are hella comfy and customizable.

I think a “ Build a Bunny” option should be available! Reason being, with the jack and the lolly, they’re way more customizable. And I think the bunnies are adorable. I just think allowing people to choose their bunny color wheel and laces should be an option! Especially because bunny wheels aren’t sold separately. Also because on the lolly you can pick different wheels as you purchase them! Just an idea!! #BuildABunny!

I think the only problem with this is that the beach bunnies are imported i think from Cambodia. Whereas the jack and lolly are made in the US in an assembly line fashion. So they don't have as much room to customize a beach bunny
This would be so cool! If I could have, I would’ve ordered one watermelon and one pink lemonade in a set, or just had the yellow skates with green laces and wheels. They’d probably be more expensive though, as they’re imported.
The only way to "improve" - as far as I can see - would be to offer the wheels (and laces) on ALL of the skates separately. Would LOVE to get the Periwinkle Beach Bunny, but have the Watermelon wheels and laces. Also some various colors of MOXI toe stops...round, hearts, stars, more colors of the brake petals...I don't care about the shape, but trying to find ones that truly MATCH a Moxi skate is difficult, if not impossible. Would LOVE to see a green stop that matched the Watermelon Bunny's wheels and laces or a purple stop to match the Periwinkle Bunny's boot. It would complete my purple and green obsession perfectly...without having to get 2 pairs of skates and spending a ton trying to find the "right" color stop to complete the look. All of my skates have a theme and I like to keep as close to that theme as possible.

@@-cole-lxun-666-4 Yeah, usually I just dye my wheels...and sometimes laces, too. It's not a difficult process, in and of itself, but getting an exact match is still hard. Toe stops are another issue. Very few can truly be dyed as it's a different compound than the wheels. I love doing it, but it would be a lot easier if they were already made. LOL
@@toryjaeger8557 None of the skates I use are stock. I've probably got more invested in wheels, laces, stops, and cushions than I do in all of my skates themselves. Well, thanks to the two shoe builds...maybe not. LOL

Erendira Landa-Godinez they're so amazing! They're a little stiff but I appreciate that because I'm still a beginner and I get that support I need around my ankles. I had Impalas before but they were not great at all! The jungles are definitely a good buy.

I would agree. I was not a beginner. But i'm almost 55 years old and I was buying my first pair of dream roller skates. My first roller skates had metal wheels.
I bought my Moxi Lollys at a roller rink in off of Whidbey Island, WA called Skagit Skate. The rink owners wife had custom ordered them and changed her mind. I bought them then and there and wore them that night. My feet weren't sore and like you said, there was no break in period. They were beautiful! I absolutely love them. I have never regretted purchasing them ever. Love love love them.

My Lollys were the best investment I’ve ever made. They are so comfortable, well made and forgiving for beginning skaters. I feel so confident in them.

Trying a different set of wheels will also completely change the experience and feel of the glide. Try Fundae ones for an outdoor faster experience or trick wheels for a smooth agile feel indoors.

I got myself a beach bunny a year or two ago and can I say the ankle support is superb from someone with not the strongest of ankles. They are cute, I am always getting compliments on them. I am dishing 70's vibes every time I skate down the street, I am all around the happiest with the Moxi brand and definitely will be getting myself a lolly once I save up! thank you Estrogen!

I’m so sad you didn’t include the vegan jack in this! I know it’s still a jackboot but since it’s vegan, it has to have differences. Can you make a video explaining them, pros and cons? I’m trying to decide if I should buy a second hand pair of jacks or the vegan jacks. I’d love to hear your opinion!!
From what I've heard estro say, the vegan jack material feels almost "springy" perse, and apparently feels slightly elastic, where as the normal jack is supposed to feel like your feet sprouted wheels. Also note that the vegan material isn't abrasion resistant at all, I've seen people scrape them and it looks pretty rough.
Hi Estro! I cannot find any Beach Bunnies my son will wear color wise (he thinks they are not gender neutral). I have Lolly's, yay(!!!) but while his feet are growing it would be great to have an affordable bunny version that is boy friendly, like green/blue, blue/red. Any little boy friendly colors in the works? I love the Bunny price point, he outgrows skates too fast! He is skating derby skates in the skate park and wants a Moxi!
That's a good suggestion!! You should look on the Riedell website if you really want to get him some skates ASAP. Riedell is the company that makes the Moxi skates, so you can be sure the quality will be excellent. They have an outdoor skate called the Citizen for $135. ***EDIT CHECK **MOXISKATES.COM** FOR THEIR LISTING AT $129*** They come in black or white, so even though they're not very fun color-wise, your son could at least find some comfort in them being gender-neutral! They're a vinyl skate just like the Beach Bunny, so it will be the same feeling he was going to get with the Beach Bunny. The plates are different. The Riedell Citizen has the Powerdyne Thrust Nylon plates just like the Lolly!! Which I believe makes it lighter?? Whereas the Beach Bunny comes with the Marvel aluminum plate.
Wait!! The moxiskates.com has a kids section right on their website, where the Citizen is actually listed there...and for $129!!!
And it says "Quality Radar Zen Wheels keep you moving at the rink or outdoors and come in five different colors so you can personalize your skate".........so maybe he can pick out his favorite color for the wheels???
Also, you could always play around with swapping the laces and wheels to make things more colorful AND little boy friendly!! Which of course would mean spending some more money for those things, but you could always swap the laces into the next pair he gets, AND even the wheels too if you learn how to do so! (I have no idea how to change them myself...I don't even have my first pair of skates yet, lol! 😅)
@@theweirdsider Thanks! He is a kid but in adult sizes (women's 8) and wants a Moxi's SO BADLY, but with his growth spurts the Beach Bunny is the only one I can afford to replace every 9 months! Like if the aqua or the yellow didn't have pink highlights. I dunno, she said ask! Skate moms have boys that would love a $149 Moxi in Dodger blue, red, or kelly green =) We need a Beach Buddy to go with the Bunnies!

My decision to start skating almost 3 year's ago was made on a whim, but deep inside my soul i almost feel like something guided me to skate. Hi, I'm from the Philippines and I just wanted to say that you along with the other moxi girls have been such a big inspiration to me. I have been following you guys since 2017 and I really believe in your vision about roller skating. Back here in the Philippines roller skating is basically dead, though there are some brands that provide quad skates they aren't as good a the skates put out by your brand. If I could get a hold of a pair of moxi skates I would like to revive the sport in my home country. It feels like there is a huge gap in the market for older / senior /returning / beginner skaters. I’m only now realizing, after searching endlessly that all the information directed at beginner skaters ASSUME we have skate park goals. I don’t know what is best for a beginner , senior, who wants to skate mostly outside - for easy cruising fitness and maybe change wheels to go to the rink sometimes. No info anywhere. But in the skating group… tons of seniors. We are here. I ordered the panthers before I saw this.. primarily bc it said 1. Wide feet and kind of like better but not the best. Good for ankle support. I REALLY have no idea what I am doing but I have research a ton.. but have found nothing really specific to my needs. Hoping for the best. But if your asking what we want to see, I think a lot of senior and simple fitness enthusiasts would love how to information. Thank you.
What about bamboo fiber? I had a lanyard for six years that never shredded, and I am soooo rough with my key lanyards. Also, got my Beach Bunnies the other day and I've had them on every single day since. Love them so much!

So a good starting park skate would be the panters? i'm actually cruising on my candigirl but i wish to upgrade to a good beginer skate park skate quality/price wise!
Wheels are the key. Candi's are fine for skate parks. It's up to you if you wan to invest further, of course, but other than a wheel change, it's not *needed*.
All of them beside th eJack are recommended as starter skates. Jack's price is more for the SURE INVESTOR. Our entire skate line is made for the all-purpose skater.
the Candi Girls are okay for park skating! I used them in the streets and park for almost a year. Just get park wheels. It's up to you but I think you should just save for a Jack or Lolly

Just some suggestions of possible materials for non-leather skates ("vegan"). What do you think about using hemp material, denim, cordoroy, canvas (what backpacks like Northface or shoes like Vans use), or (thick) heavyweight cotton twill blend like the fabric used for Ben Davis or Dickies pants? Denim or other heavyweight blended fabrics (made in various colors) are tough and used for work (pants) by construction workers and people in various fields of work. Perhaps various layers of different materials like pleather or Beach Bunny material (I'm guessing it peels off when used for ramp skating) underneath the denim/heavyweight cotton blend? Hemp is a nice strong material but it is pricey. What have you tested out so far and why didn't it work? Curious about your thought process on the making of the next Moxi skate. I guess your interest is expanding the non-leather, pleather, man-made material, "vegan" choice of roller skates. Can you make a camouflage print skate? Hey @EstroJen that camouflage military-type of material is tough too (used in wars) and might work?

a vote for VEGAN lolly's PLEEEASSE. Maybe look into mushroom leather or even microfiber. I'm dying for the lolly's and would drop the cash in a second. But I just can't bring myself to buy new leather.

I wish you offered Lollys with the Marvel plate! I know that the Panther is a fine substitute, but I love the colors of the Lolly but would want a more durable plate, especially if I'm paying $300+.

They do offer Lollys with metal plates! When you customize a Lolly, you can get whatever Powerdyne plate you want. 2 nylon (one is reinforced with fiberglass) and 2 metal.
So glad I got the panthers! I’m still in my kitchen. Lol it’s been decades since I’ve skated! The insole was way too stiff. Had to change it out! Hoping to get outdoors soon! Do you think you will be making a thin hybrid wheel? That would be awesome! Be made Blissful everyone!

I have honeydew lollys, blue beach bunnies, and the Panther seems like it will be my perfect skate! I like the longer wheelbase.

Darn it! Wished I saw this video before buying the beach bunnies. I just got them a few days ago. I feel like they need adjusting because my ride was a bit rougher than expected. But in all fairness I should give it some more time since it’s been years since I’ve actually skated and need to reacquaint myself. i've had my current skates (blue streaks on crazy venus plates) for years and years and the boots are just DONE. 5 seasons of derby and countless hours of rec skating and they can't take it anymore! now that i'm a retired derby skater i'm really thinking of springing for some moxies. might buy some soon so i can get back to outdoor skating during this quarantine...
