I have two pairs of each. I agree with most of what was said here except that I would give the moonlight roller stock wheels a little more credit. She is right they are not great on asphalt, they are 85A which is about the hardest you want to go for outdoor. The size of them makes them much better for dance and park skating as compared to the Moxi gummy wheels. The Moxi gummy wheels are actually fairly dangerous to try dance moves in because you can trip over them (moves like the downtown, crazy legs, spins etc) but they are perfect for outdoor cruising, trail skating, or for any beginners just looking to stabilize ...One thing I would criticize on the Moon boots is the plate. I would probably change out the plate if I had a skate shop near me. To me, my weight distribution feels a little off, it may be that the plate is too big, or that it wasn’t mounted properly. It also doesn’t seem absorb the shock of more aggressive skating- maybe that also has to do with the cushions. But anyway, it would not deter me from buying the skate by any means! Especially if you’re new to skating, you are not going to tell the difference. I have been on ice for 20 years and wheels for over 2, so I am extra sensitive to these things!
I feel so overwhelmed with all these skate options. I’m a beginner skater and I want to cruise but also learn some of those dances that people do. One of my main issues with skates though is that I need ankle support. Any recommendations?
My first pair of skates were the moxi beach bunnies which I loved! I’ve had them for over 3 years. I finally decided to invest in the moxi Lolly’s when I visited a skate shop in San Diego. After trying them out, I’m not sure how I fell about them and kinda regretting buying them. They were also very expensive… I wish I would have gotten the moonlight rollers instead.
I can understand that. I would say the Moon Boots are not better quality but some do like them better. I did an updated thoughts video and there are other skates available that are great quality at a affordable price point. 💜🦋 th-cam.com/video/nJguxACZ-f4/w-d-xo.html
Well, they are two different skates. The Lollys are an intermediate skate and are not stiff, boot that is.. The bunnies are a great beginner skate w/a stiffer boot, more padding and ankle support. That is not a Lolly. I have two prs of Lollys (one indoor, one outdoor) though the same skate, they feel different bc one has a looser truck (intentionally) and they both have two totally different sets of wheels. I also use inserts to give it a little more hug in the soles. So, keep this in mind when skating with the Lollys...out of the box they are a intermediate Outdoor skate. You'll need to adjust them as you grow as a skater. Good luck from San Diego;). P.S. The Moxi's whether they are bunnies or lollys are a great health investment, extra plus bc for me bc they are made in the USA.. I also like the Moon Boots...Im kinda thinking of getting the grey ones-)
This is is so helpful thank you! I have Lollys but they are just too narrow. Solidified that the Moon Boot is going to be a better fit for me. Hopefully I can snag some!

Huge thanks for the review! 👍👍👍 Now I know that I still need the Lollys because I have narrow feet and super narrow ankles (so that I always have to fight with my Beach bunnies while lacing up, which causes some bad blisters to my fingers)
Heya! I was wondering about the adjustment of the trucks, it lookalike there's a knot between the plate and the trucks, I thought that would make them less flexible? I really like having flexible trucks that allow me to really flow and make turns.. Thanksss
Hi! It’s so hard to explain through text and I actually haven’t made a video on that yet but I’m sure if you search up “how to adjust roller skating plates or trucks” a good vid will pop up. Sorry I’m not much help. 💜

The Lollies are $350 now not $300 and Moonlights don't have that color sole anymore. Wondering if you could do an updated video with updated Lollies and updated Moonlights. I came here to ask why some have hearts and some have moons.
Hi, yes so much has changed since I uploaded this video. I think why some have hearts and some have moons is that the heart cut out was more of a special run or limited edition. I’m not 100% sure though. And I might be able to do another comparison someday but I definitely don’t want you waiting on me so hopefully someone out there does one. 💜
Thank you doing the comparison video! It was helpful! Do you mind sharing the size of your Lolly's and Mirror ball? Also measurements of the length and the widest part of your feet? (in centimeters or millimeters if possible) I know it's a very weird request, but as I will be ordering internationally, returning or exchanging will be expensive and also a pain in the butt. Thanks!
Yes I am a 6.5 in womens so I ordered a size 5 in both and they fit great. My foot is 9 inches/22.86 cm long and 3.5 inches/8.89 cm wide on the widest part of my foot. What size in womens do you normally wear?
@@TaniCoy do you have a teensy bit of wiggle room in the toes? My second toe is longer than my first so I'm just a smidge over 9 inches. I also wear a 6.5! TIA
@@dwilliams8703 Yes I actually do! And they say it's ok if they are a little snug because they will stretch out a bit after wearing. I've even seen some more advanced skaters say they prefer a snugger fit too. But it does come down to what YOU will be comfortable in. 💜🦋
Hi, I’m getting back into roller skating after my mom gave away my old skates years ago. I’m a really experienced skier, (you need ankles of steel for that) so I don’t feel like I need something too stiff, I like a skate that’s a bit more flexible. I mainly want to cruise and maybe get into a bit of basic park skating. Any skate recommendations?
Park skating requires really good hardware so I would look into Bont Parkstars. They are excellent skates and soooo many people love them. Hope you have a blast. 💜
Thank you so much! I've been looking into roller skates and really needed this (: when it comes to using the moonlight as an everyday outdoor skate do you have any wheels that you would recommend? Preferably something more "gummi" like the moxi's?
Thank you so much for commenting! I have not tried any other wheels besides the outdoor Moxi Gummies. I've heard some good things about the Energy Radar wheels but I think it depends a lot on what type of outdoor skating the individual is doing . The next video I will be posting is my results switching the Moon Boots wheels to the outdoor Moxi Gummies. 🦋💜🌌
My first thought was maybe Bont Parkstars. But you could always call up a reputable skate shop. I love Bruised Boutique or Derby Warehouse and they should be able to help you. 💜
After making this video I heard that the owner said they are not made for skatepark style skating. You may be able to upgrade the plate but I really don’t know how well the boot would hold up. I love how comfortable they are but there are better setups you can get for your money that are made for heavier skating. 💜🦋
Have you found that the lace hooks leave rust on the tongue of your Moxi lolly’s because that happened to mine it doesn’t really bother me I was just wondering if it happened to anyone else.
I haven't personally had it happen, at least not yet anyway. But if I did, I would try (very carefully) putting a little clear nail polish on the metal part of the eyelet. 🦋💜
@Neilsen Park are you lacing them normally or the way Estro Jen recommends for the lollies? Using Estro’s method might help prevent future damage, but you’d need to get rid of the rust then protect it with polish etc. first
I found the Moonlight Roller skates to be heavier than the Moxi Lolly skates. Did you weigh the both skates without the wheels? When I weighed mine the Moonboot was a little less than half a pound heavier
No, I kept the wheels on when weighing them since that's how they came and I knew that is how I would be skating in them at least at first. But that would make sense though! The wheels on the Moxi's are for sure heavier and bigger. 🦋💜
@@TaniCoy that's what I was thinking when I look at the Gummy wheels. The Moonboot is very soft and comfy but I would prefer a lighter plate. Thanks for doing the review, I really enjoyed it!
this video is really helpful rn because moxis aren’t shipping out anymore so i’ve been looking for a good quality skate outside of their website, just a quick question though(anyone is free to answer) you said you like the gummy wheels better, would it be possible to just buy the gummy wheels and put them on the moonlights?
There are some other brands out there that are good too. You could look into Jackson Vistas or Crazy Skates Evoke as well. I just have not personally tried them. 💜🦋
Thanks for the video. I have the lollys(and I love them) and thinking about to get the moonlights as well... Maybe a stupid question, but I am new in skating... Does the gummy wheels would fit on the moonboots?
Thank you! Not a stupid question at all! Yes the out door moxi gummies work great on the Moon Lights. I currently have them on my skates right now. I'm actually going to be uploading a video where I mention how much I love the Moon Boots with the gummies for outdoor skating. 🦋💜
Thank you! I plan on doing an update and final thoughts video eventually. I think they are both great skates and both have pros and cons. And like with so many things, it really comes down to personal preference. I reach for my Moxi’s more right now since I can only do indoor skating and they have the right kind of wheels for that. But I might put my Radar Energy wheels on the Moon Boots and see how I like them that way soon. The Moon shoots do not have the greatest hardware but they are very comfy, wider toe box (a pro if you need that) and stiffer ankle. The Moxi’s have decent hardware, great wheels for outdoor, and mold to your feet. In my opinion they are both a big step up from rentals! 💜🦋
@@TaniCoy thank you so much for your response! I was eyeing some moonlights for my future because eventually I want to have my lollys and then a stiffer boot. 💕🦋
I really like the boot! I've heard they may be upgrading the trucks to a better version on the future ones which I think would be good. I switched out the wheels to moxi gummy outdoors and loved the setup. I will someday, hopefully soon, try out the original hybrid wheels that they come with on a more rink like surface to see if there is a difference. When I do that I will definitely do a video on my experience. Thank you so much for commenting. 💜🦋 Here is a link to my experience switching out the wheels. th-cam.com/video/UpIvRPZpJdo/w-d-xo.html
Curious what size is your running shoe and what size you ordered in each skate. The only thing I heard about the Moonlight (from someone who bought some) is that sometimes the suede separates but hers were fine, so far. No idea if this is true.
I am a 6.5 in women’s and ordered the size 5 in both. I have an updated thoughts video on these skates here that might be helpful. th-cam.com/video/nJguxACZ-f4/w-d-xo.html I haven’t had any problems with the Moon Lights personally but they are not meant for much more than recreational skating. 💜
I think that since I already have candies (cheap but GREAT) I would wanna invest in some moonlight rollers to have both the gummy wheela and the moonlight wheels. Im not sure if i wanna try dance skating, but it would be nice to have two sets of wheels. I personally would rather pay less for the boot itself. I had bern hoping for moxis but i dont rhink this company was around when i got my first pair of skates! I definitely think the price difference is enough to try to snag some rollers
I did an updated thoughts video on these. th-cam.com/video/nJguxACZ-f4/w-d-xo.html There are a lot of Roller Skate options that are great for outdoors and for a good price. 💜
I can't even remember a time in my life I have won a giveaway. 🤣🤣 But I'm super excited to host one and be able to feel the excitement of someone winning. 💜🦋
watching this video again, as i still haven’t bought a new pair of roller skates haha. is the heel on the moxi lolly a bit higher than on the moon boot? just curious about the shape, as it may help me decide which is better for my foot shape, esp regarding my arches.
The heels look pretty much the same. The hardware is better in the Moxi but the Moonboots work well for individuals with wider feet. I have also heard really good things about Sure Grip Boardwalks and Jackson Vista or Vipers. Also Bont park stars for park skating. Just wanted to give you some options. Thank you for commenting. 💜
@@TaniCoy thanks so much for the detailed reply! i know it’s not a huge deal but tbh i really like the rolled cuffs of the lolly & moon boot. also something about the suede on the jacksons just looks strange to me; i know they call it microfiber suede or something and i know that aesthetics aren’t the best reason to buy or not buy something, but i just want to completely love whatever skates i buy since i will hopefully get at least a couple years’ wear out of them (i would probably want to replace the plate on the boot too at some point if the stock plate is not high quality, so i really want to have a good boot that i really love). sorry for the long reply haha. the search for the perfect skate can be a long process that brings out a lot of emotions 😅
@@pepperspikes1849 I actually TOTALLY get it. I am such a visual person and how things look matter to me. The Moon Boot is not good for changing plates and they are not made for park skating yet. But the Moxi’s you can upgrade the plate or if it’s in your budget the Moxi Jack Boots are a great option too. I will be doing an updated video on my thoughts and comparison of the Moxi and Moon Boots again soon since I have more experience and knowledge about them. Hope this helps and you get your dream skates.
“Better wheels” depend on what surface you’re skating on, right? Indoor or outdoor and what type of skating you’re going to be doing while on them, right? To characterize the moonlight wheels as inferior (my wording) might be a little misleading and unhelpful to someone who will be using them indoors/on a rink. I do appreciate the part about the differences in width and the padding.
The inside of the moon boot looks like my beach bunnies. I'm not a fan of the lace stabilizer, but I never noticed it until you pointed it out. lol. They are both gorgeous. When I'm ready to upgrade I think I will go with moxi because of the made in USA aspect. I have a hard time finding American-made products; this one is an easy find. Sidenote - I love that image at the end of the video. Where did you find it?
It marked your comment as spam again and so I just now saw it. Have you looked into the Moxi Jack boots at all? I'm starting to feel like those would work the best for me in the long run since I have such bad ankles. But they are spendy! The image at the end I had commissioned by someone I found on Instagram @goldendaze_illustration All of her stuff is so amazing!
@@TaniCoy I looked! Ooweee that is a commitment. I also looked at reidell unity and legacy. Maybe a custom from sk8 fanatics. I want really really good skates but then I think dang I could have lollys in 2 colors for the same price 😅
@@quadyboombody4828 I don't think you can go wrong with Reidell! I'm sure they would be super helpful and informative. I feel ya on having one really good pair. Originally I wanted us to have an indoor pair and an outdoor pair. And that's where we will be at here soon. But going forward I'm going to be trying to do a lot more research.
@@TaniCoy that's the way to go. Once its up to the 500+ price range I also need to decide what kind of skater I will primarily be. They seemed to be designed for specific purposes. Maybe by the time I'm ready to buy they will come out with something even better 😅 research is the way to go 🤓
Yes! And the type of skating you will be doing, the shape and build of your feet, personal preference and more. So much goes into getting the right pair of skates. 💜
@@skatiesadiemator5948 Yes, I love them for trail skating because they are so comfortable. They are best for recreational skating. I did an updated thoughts video if you are interested here th-cam.com/video/nJguxACZ-f4/w-d-xo.html
i’ve had my beach bunny’s for two years and they are about a size and a half too small and i can’t get new skates cause they are all sold out but i really like the moonlight skates and i think i have a better chance of getting them than moxi lollis
I have heard that the Moon Lights can sometimes be pretty hard to get ahold of too. There are other great skates that are not as well know but that you may be able to get your hands on. Sure Grip Board Walks, Jackson Vista or Vipers, Chaya Melrose just to name a few. I’m sorry it’s so hard to find skates and I hope you are able to find a great pair soon. 💜🦋
Can you flip them over and say whether the plates are attached with screws or rivets? If it's the former, the plate can be changed, if it's the latter then changing the plate is a lot more difficult. Worth noting also that softer, larger wheels are designed for outdoors, and harder, smaller wheels are better for jam/rhythm skating at rinks. And with wheels, bearings are a pretty big factor also, but there wasn't much discussion of that.
The bolt potruds through the bottom of the skate through the base plate of the trucks and is secured by a nut so the plate should be easy enough to switch out. I recently put the Outdoor Gummie wheels on the Moon Boots, taking off the hybrid wheels they came with and they worked great for outside skating. Someday I'll be able to try the original wheels out in more of a smooth indoor style surface. The type of bearings are shown on the Specs sheet but I don't personally know enough to say much about them. Hope this helps. 💜🦋
Just curious about size. Did you get the same size in both? If so do they feel similar? Or does the Lolly feel smaller (in length)? I just got a pair of Moonlight Rollers and I have a pair of Lolly's on longterm backorder, lol. So I'm hoping the Lolly's will fit too. Fingers crossed :)
I've heard rumors of the Moxi brand doing a new color palette next year and there are more colors releasing with Moonlight on August 24th. They include a dark lavender, emerald, & snake skin pattern. 🦋💜
I tried to figure out how to measure this but really didn't fully understand how. I don't want to give you the wrong information! If I figure it out I will update though. Sorry! 💜

@@justsomegirl7274 I really don't know because I have no experience with the Panthers. I've heard that they are fixing issues and then doing extra quality control by checking their shipments better before sending them out. I've had a great experience. The boot is super comfortable and since I have the moxi gummy outdoor wheels on them I have been trail skating and have no issues. I think they are a bit overpriced but not by much. Sorry I wish I could help more with the comparison. 🦋💜
@@ayllaaylla1 I think the Moon Lights are super comfortable for long distance trail skating and I like my Moxi’s for working on smooth surfaces. This is part because of the wheels I have on them though. I will be doing an update video in a few months once I have skated on them a bit more. I would say as long as your feet are not wide Moxi’s are probably the better route since they have better hardware and are made in the US. 💜

Using Estro’s method might help prevent future damage, but you’d need to get rid of the rust then protect it with polish etc. first
Thanks for this! I plan on ordering from Moonlight and I was wondering what the specs were.
You're welcome! Hope you love your skates. 💜🦋
Funny, I have the Lolly moxie and upgraded to Riedell, then went down to Golden Horse, back to Riedell 170. Never going back to Moxie.
Thank you for commenting and watching!
They are heavier due to the aluminum plate. They will get quicker and lighter if you switch out the plate.
this video is really helpful rn because moxis aren’t shipping out anymore so i’ve been looking for a good quality skate outside of their website, just a quick question though(anyone is free to answer) you said you like the gummy wheels better, would it be possible to just buy the gummy wheels and put them on the moonlights?
okay nevermind i commented this before checking out ur channel and i realized u already made a video about that
There are some other brands out there that are good too. You could look into Jackson Vistas or Crazy Skates Evoke as well. I just have not personally tried them. 💜🦋
Look into Suregrips too
Thanks for the video.
@@TaniCoy ok, thank you!! Then I guess these will be my next one😁💛
Great videos! This is such a great review! Has your opinion changed at all? Which is your favorite?
Merci pour cette vidéo très intéressante🙏💕 Kisses from France
Merci d'avoir regardé et commenté
What are your thoughts on this skate now that it has been about a month? Have you tried new wheels on them yet?! Thank you 😊
I really like the boot!

I have an updated thoughts video on these skates here that might be helpful. th-cam.com/video/nJguxACZ-f4/w-d-xo.html
I haven’t had any problems with the Moon Lights personally but they are not meant for much more than recreational skating. 💜
@@TaniCoy Thanks for the info. 🌹
I did an updated thoughts video on these. th-cam.com/video/nJguxACZ-f4/w-d-xo.html
There are a lot of Roller Skate options that are great for outdoors and for a good price. 💜
Thanks for the video, it helped a lot!
Awesome! I'm so glad it helped. Thanks for commenting. 🦋💜
Yay give away ! I always miss them lol!
@@TaniCoy thanks so much!!
What size wheels do the Moon Boots use? I can't find that information on their website.
So sorry it took me a while to respond. They are 58mm 82A urethane. Hope this helped. 💜🦋
@@TaniCoy oh thank you for replying, no worries on wait time, I didn't check until now anyways :)
Yes you are absolutely right! But I would personally still upgrade the wheels even using them indoors. 💜
I wanted to get their holographic ones but of course they were sold out!
They are releasing them again on Aug 24th Midnight EST if you still want them! 💜
@@TaniCoy thanks, worth a shot!
Maybe by the time I'm ready to buy they will come out with something even better 😅 research is the way to go 🤓
This is exactly my deal. Figuring out all the types of skating I won't and will do and having the right gear and skates to prevent injury.
I think it makes a differens with the amount of time you skate in them, you cant judge a shoe til ya break them in equally
Yes! And the type of skating you will be doing, the shape and build of your feet, personal preference and more. So much goes into getting the right pair of skates. 💜
@@TaniCoy have you used the moon boot more? If so, do you see a difference?
@@skatiesadiemator5948 Yes, I love them for trail skating because they are so comfortable. They are best for recreational skating. I did an updated thoughts video if you are interested here
th-cam.com/video/nJguxACZ-f4/w-d-xo.html
i’ve had my beach bunny’s for two years and they are about a size and a half too small and i can’t get new skates cause they are all sold out but i really like the moonlight skates and i think i have a better chance of getting them than moxi lollis
I ordered a size 5 in both and they both fit me great. I would think that the Lolly’s will fit good. 💜🦋
@@TaniCoy Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 Thanks for your feedback 💕

Do you know if they will release new colors ?
I've heard rumors of the Moxi brand doing a new color palette next year and there are more colors releasing with Moonlight on August 24th. They include a dark lavender, emerald, & snake skin pattern. 🦋💜
So weird question but axel to axel lenghth is it the same as the lolly ?
I tried to figure out how to measure this but really didn't fully understand how. I don't want to give you the wrong information! If I figure it out I will update though. Sorry! 💜
How wide are the moon boots? I have narrow feet but I don't want my pinkie toes dying hahaha
Lol! They are wider than the Moxis. I have fairly narrow feet too and have no issues. I would think you would be fine.
Tani Coy Roller Mama Thanks! Would you say that the moon boots are closer in performance to moxi panthers? People have been talking crap about moon boots but I have yet to see a bad video):
@@justsomegirl7274 I really don't know because I have no experience with the Panthers. I've heard that they are fixing issues and then doing extra quality control by checking their shipments better before sending them out. I've had a great experience. The boot is super comfortable and since I have the moxi gummy outdoor wheels on them I have been trail skating and have no issues. I think they are a bit overpriced but not by much. Sorry I wish I could help more with the comparison. 🦋💜
Thank you for this!! :)
Thank you for taking the time to comment. 💜
Moonlights looks cute but in my personal opinion or preferences Moxi Lollys are a better looking and overall better skates. 💙🤍
As long as you’re happy with your skates that’s what matters. 💜
@@TaniCoy l know you have and love both cause they are both beautiful. But may I ask you witch ones u like or prefer more. ? Tnx
