    Great job! I'm actually experiencing the same leak on my 2011 LC9. Waiting for next oil change to swap this gasket as well. Thank you for the details and really great camera work!

    My 2010 5.3 began leaking a puddle per day. I bought the cooler line with gasket from dorman and leaks again. It's not a terrible job, just messy. I took my front drive shaft out for room. I definitely need gasket maker now. Oem gasket and silicone.

    The test takes time for the engine to warm up and it will leak again because you did not use silicone paste on the face of cooller. Something like that happened to me until I used silicone paste from Toyota. GM should treat the frequent oil leakage from the gutter and the poor quality of spare pa

      It will usually just start leaking right away if its going to leak from what ice seen in the past. But rtv is a good idea like you mentioned

    Getting ready to do my sons 2009 1500 in a few days. And your right, NEVER use cheap chinese junk gaskets. I always opt for the little more expensive FELPRO or OEM stuff. Thanks for sharing!

      @@BULL-and-WRENCH The rear main seal was leaking on his truck as well. Bigger job than I can handle, so we put it in the shop. They are going to replace this gasket while it is in there. But your video was still a good one!! Thanks!

    I put dye in mine it looks like it’s leaking from the same spot at that corner of the oil cooler gasket. Did this fix it for you ? I had my rear main seal done right after I got the truck I really hope they did it correctly GM dealer did the work so🤷🏻

    • @JamesSmith-je8sw
      @JamesSmith-je8sw 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jcrpictures4405 luckily it’s was replaced through the warranty I purchased when I got the truck but if I remember correctly it was around $1800,$2000 parts and labor at a dealership. I paid $2,300 for the warranty when I got the truck and that’s the only thing I ever had to use it for before expired so technically I paid 2,300 for the rear main lmao 🤣

    Notice how the oil comes pouring out. The oil is coming from the galleries in the engine, held in the galleries by the anti-drainback valve in the oil filter. It would be much less mess if he removed the oil filter and let the oil drain in a pan prior to removing the block. Otherwise very informative video.

    • @BULL-and-WRENCH
      @BULL-and-WRENCH  ปีที่แล้ว

      It did for me, if it doesnt for you, the usual go to is to apply some RTV around the gaskets. That goes for any gasket
