    X and h pipes make more power than two separate pipes because they equalize the exhaust coming out of the exhaust valves in the cylinder heads. They create an exhaust siphoning affect where two separate pipes cause the exhaust strokes fight against themselves.

      @@williamvarnum5772to be honest, you’re right but you’re also wrong. Yes the stock air box is cold air but the stock intake tube is restrictive. But I do agree His “cold air” is actually worse then stock but if he would’ve only swapped the actual tube for a more performance tubing he’d have very slightly better performance then stock but if you’re going to mess with the stock intake for fun, it’s best to go all out and buy a TRUE cold air intake with true cold air scoops like the Volant intake for these trucks

    They should rename it hot air intake. Factory plastic tubing is far better at shielding heat. The factory unit also pulls in cooler air from outside the vehicle.

    Hey man, nice truck. I just don't agree with what you stated about supercharger vs turbocharger and using power to make power. Yes the supercharger takes direct power from the engine. But the turbo creates back pressure which is robbing power too. Thus using power to make power. Maybe not as much but it still is there. And your electric fan is just moving the power draw to your alternator. Now you can say the electric fans only use power when there on and I completely give that to you. But when they are on you're just pulling power from your engine via the alternator instead. But honestly I do love your truck man!

    Not exactly, you still need back pressure for your engine, so putting on the biggest sized pipe for your exhaust is not a good idea.

    • @colin_deans
      @colin_deans 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      No, you don't. the only thing a big pipe could do that's bad is if it drastically reduced the velocity of the exhaust gasses, exhaust scavenging performance could be lessened. This is a really big deal on two stroke engines, but still applies to 4 strokes when seeking maximum performance
