The absolutely BEST Christmas video ever produced...of course, being OVM I have a vested interest in the matter, but be that as it may I stand by my statement. That's the kind of snow I love playing in..."Where's my ball?!" Thanks Ron, you're a fine fellow. Sumac, OVM
Unfortunately Sumac your biggest problem is winkling that James out from his warm lair. Try taking a snowball in to him, that should work. Happy barking. Ron
My first English Conversation lesson after the Christmas break starts at 09.30 this morning. I'm ready to go so let's watch Ron's video first. Now I'm feeling so cold and don't feel like venturing outside! I remember seeing this beautiful film before. Superb, no, one of the best Christmas times video ever! Gorgeous scenery, fantastic music to go with the film too Decision made. Lessons today will be online via Skype. I'm staying in doors
Beautiful filming, Ron. I just wished I was drinking a hot cup of coffee before i clicked on your channel instead of my cold drink. You had me feeling shivers with that wind blowing in the background. Of course the sunny day rising the next morn helped alleviate most of my chill.
Mornin' Ron, It's such a lovely sight to see the snow transforms the landscape, both city and countryside alike. A great video, one of your best. Loved seeing the robin looking for shelter, the clips through the church and graveyard were very atmospheric, the music just perfect. It's a real memory trigger. Takes me right back to building igloos with my Dad in the late 60s, we've even got some cine film of them!! We even built some in Portsmouth in the 70s. I would never have imagined seeing snow on the Mediterranean beaches but we did get some in 2017. In general though these events are few and far between the daily winter grind of deicing the windscreen stopped several years ago where we are. It's always unpredictable too, I've seen it snow on the mountains near Madrid in August, although only a flurry, the next day we went to Oslo and baked in the sun at 30°!! Down here it can start in September and stop April. Longer term the last glacier disappeared start of the 20th century although there is still evidence in the subsoil, not in our garden, high up in the mountains!! I'm off out to see a man about a KS now, op confirmed for the 7th, snow permitting!! All the best!!
That was a lovely video to have on Friday morning. So calming after Christmas. It might be a foretaste of what is forecast for later in the week here but things might change 🤞with any luck. So I do hope you and Pauline had a happy Christmas Ron and also wish you a very happy 2025 and lots of happy expeditions. See you next year then. Bye for now.
Hi Marilyn, thanks for all your lovely posts this year, you have cheered me up along with many others. I hope you and Maisie have a happy, healthy peaceful 2025. Ron
That really was a snowstorm, Ron. We've only had one like that in the 52 years that I've lived in New Zealand, with a metre of snow falling in just a few hours. That was back in 1992, if my memory's correct. And because the temperature wasn't too cold, it all disappeared in about 24 hours, causing some flooding as it melted. Everything had stopped in the meantime, as we are not prepared for such events. Most winters we get no snow, although there's plenty in the mountains.
Lovely video Ron. Beautiful when the sun came out. I love those conditions. Mary kept telling me what you were looking at. Cleeve hill she recognised. And she thought she spotted Ashchurch. Good choice of music and sound effects.
@ParkinsonsWalks We're both recovering from our nasty colds, so I'm beginning to feel like getting out with the camera once more. We wish you and Pauline a very Happy New Year.
Hi Ron just made the morning parade. This reminds me of the winter of 1963 which went on until march 1964. I had been selected to sing gold I bring in the school nativity play. My voice was a choirboy in the soprano range and I oft was selected by the Sunday school teacher to sing solos. Alas it was never to be and I was dropped from the play my voice breaking at 10 years old. My consolation was to play Joseph next to a girl who I secretly adored. I never recovered my voice despite my efforts to sing in church. Peace and goodwill to you and the Parkinson’s family.
Christmas would not be Christmas without your Snow Video, it is a firm favourite at the Parkinson's Walks Retirement Home for past contributors. Like a bottle of Brandy it matures over the year. Thank you for bringing it to us for our enjoyment, I am sure Sumac (OVM) would be somewhere amongst all that snow perhaps when I watch it again I will spot her! All that is left for me to do now is to wish you and your good lady a very Happy and healthy New Year. Best Wishes, Andrew.
Merry Christmas Andrew, always great to see you post a message here. I'm thinking James must have got some super glue for those illuminated antlers ..... no sign of Sumac in the snow!!
@davidberlanny3308 Hi David, Many thanks for your good wishes, I hope you had a good Christmas and a very Happy New Year to you. I rarely go on TH-cam now and the only channel I subscribe to is Sumac's. Parkinson's Walks Snow Video was always my favourite video of the year even in times past when I commented nearly every week. The very best of luck on the 7th and that you will be back to full good health as soon as possible
Hello Ron! Brrr! I have just turned the heating up after watching this! I loved the work you did on the soundtrack on this one, and the music was just sublime. Hope you had a great Christmas Day, and are enjoying Christmastime. Take care, Paul
I just remembered....this was when my car got stuck in snow at work when I was working in Brixham in Devon - I couldn't get back to Dartmouth for two nights and had to book into a B&B. Fun times (!)
Good Morning Ron, that made me feel pretty cold. The family has gone done with a nasty bug, we are coughing and splutting all over the place. Hope you have avoided any sniffles so far. See you in the new Year. Simon

An old favourite which enchants the imagination and warms the heart. Thank you.
Thanks Malcolm Happy New Year. Ron
I remember that! The beast from the East! Before Putin acquired that epithet! Great Video, Ron!
Thanks Michael, all the best. Ron

I don't blame you Michael, it's not very nice out there, much safer indoors. Look after yourself. Ron

You are very kind Christina, thanks for your support this year. Ron

Not sure about Ashchurch Lionel, but she is right about Cleeve hill. (Of course) Happy new year to you both. Ron

Hi Barry, I was hoping you were going to say you still sang in a choir. Still hope? Ron

Hi Simon, I'm fine at the moment, Pauline is not. There is a lot of it about. See you soon. Ron
