I got my new iPad Air 2024 13 inch. My old one was the iPad Air 5. Performance wise, I don’t see much changes but I love the larger screen! I use my iPads all the time. It’s excellent for video watching and web surfing. I love these devices. Very happy customer

It’s wild how Apple expects us to be impressed with the same old features in 2024. A fingerprint reader and a 60 Hz screen? Seriously? My 2018 iPad Pro feels more advanced. Upgrading to the 13” M4 was the only logical choice, given the circumstances.

First time having a pro iPad. I usually get the air for the pretty colors. I can say the diff I’m seeing is my screen and how fast it moves. I don’t upgrade my iPads often so I’ll have this one for the next 3/4 years lol.
I upgraded from the 2018 11” iPad Pro to the new 13” iPad Air and I’m happy with my purchase and did the research. I own the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the Galaxy Tab S8+ which both have a 120Hz screens and looked at the Air and Pro side by side at the Apple Store. I still haven’t noticed a $200 difference in the screen. I use my iPad Air for online classes, gaming, streaming movies, listening to music, listening to podcasts, and reading. The new 2024 Surface Pro and Surface Laptop both hit 600 nits peak brightness like Air just to give a full perspective that the Air doesn’t have some lower tier screen. Apple is giving away trade in credits…I got $330 for my old iPad so the upgrade was under $600 which is a great value

I have the M2 11 in pro and it works great.
A year ago I went from a 12.9 M1 to IPad Air 5 and I do not regret it one bit. It’s so light and portable and when I need a larger display I just dock it. I just found your channel and agree with the points you made. However I’m interested in your video where you compare the air 5 to the new one and justify the upgrade.

I upgraded from a iPad 10th Gen to the 13inch iPad Air. I’ve been wanting a larger screen iPad, unfortunately iPad Pro was the only one with the a bigger screen and was just too expensive. I’m just glad there now an affordable version. Especially with an M2 chip meaning I can keep it for a very long time.
Have a 13" iPad Air. The pro models are a lot thinner than the airs, making the airs seem thick when held next to one another so I would say it is pretty impressive with how thin the pro models are. I was upgrading from a 2018 11" iPad Pro, mainly for the CPU boost as certain Logic features require m1 or higher.
I’m torn I really want the biggest screen available as someone who doesn’t have a laptop…I just read online books and watch movies soo I’m teething on getting the 13 inch air..and if I really need it I can always upgrade to the m4 iPad Pro 13 inch when I’m rich lol

I had 2018 iPad Pro with Smart Folio keyboard. I upgraded to 13” iPad Air with Magic Keyboard. I got $235 for my old iPad. I couldn’t justify the price on new iPad pro. I use it pretty much how you use yours so this new Air is definitely fine for me.

Got the base air as well even though I was planing on buying the pro. I’m happy I made that decision, the new air is more than enough for my usage and the display is still really nice. Save a ton of money while being able to do everything a pro can do.

I bought an Ipad Pro 12.9 inch M2, got it almost 40% off from it's original that has Cellular. very happy with it, I can work smoothly on my designs in UX than in Laptop.

I got the new iPad Air m2 2024 11inch a couple of weeks ago. And coming from an iPad 6th generation it’s all I could of asked for. The iPad Air is powerful and has more than enough storage at 128.

Thanks for your great review - Im stuck at this stage going back and forth since December 2023. Told myself to wait for the new launch as older gens most likely will get a price drop and then to see if its worth getting the latest and greatest or just go for prev gen. Looking at pricing it would be dumb to go with prev gens as the pricing isint far off but now where i battle to make up my mind is the size 11inch seems so small im scared im going to regret going for mobility over size for interior design as well as 3d modeling with sketchup doing architectural and furniture design. Secondly that Lidar on the Pro will make it so much easier for me when doing site visits to be able to use polycam or roomplan to just scan the interior building and have measurements and a cad model by the time i leave site ( the only problem is Air does not support which means i need to take extra bucks out for the pro but....am i really going to use it so much to justify the price diff from air to pro or am i better off just getting a laser measuring tape and do it by hand and save money. Im literally going crazy not knowing what to do.

I am waiting for WWDC next month if nothing changes on the iPad OS then I am going with the 11 inch M2 Air. But I wish they should have released iPad mini with the M1 cheap if not the latest and greats chip. I love the form factor of mini.
Underwhelmed by the new iPads. Waiting ages for the Air 5 to be similarly disappointed. Went for an M1 iPad Pro which I really like EXCEPT the position of the front facing camera, that is all! Current iPad Pro display is a little smashed so considering upgrade to Air or….refurbed M2 iPad Pro so I can keep 120, slightly better sound and so on but would be stuck with that awful ff camera position. How about adding an external Webcam, is that a solution?

I have the 11inch iPad Air M2 - upgraded from the Air 4. Both are great devices.
Currently using the 2019 9.7 IPad and have been waiting for the M4. After looking at the specs and insane pricing I’m probably going for the M2 Air.
Been using the 10.5 Pro (2017) and in need of an upgrade. In my region, the prices are crazy after taxes, and even then, the Air is still a better deal. The M2 Air is basically the 2022 M2 Pro minus the display but the extra price difference doesn't justify my use case. My only gripe is I'll be missing out on the 120Hz which I have been using on the iPad Pro since day 1. But considering how my use case has shifted over the years and now I strictly use the ipad for note taking and a bit of surfing, the Air is more than enough with the new Apple Pencil Pro that I can get for free.

the M2 iPad Air would be a perfect device for me if it had 120hz refresh dispaly, i don't really care much for Mini LED or OLED but 60hz in 2024 it's a shame when you charge $600-$800 bucks for a device in 2024. so its a pass for me .

Hey there! I have a question, for uni. and watching movie-shows yt etc. Which one should i buy; ipad air m2 11" or ipad pro m2 11" (all of them with pencil tho) ? In my country the ipad pro m2 11" is 5k more than new ipad air so which one is better for long term? New ipad is 2 years younger and it will be get more updated that's the two reason im stuck with it: m2 pro price and update stuff... 🤷🏻♀️ and also is it big enough 11"? I want to buy the 13" but the price diff is literally 10k its so much tho. I would like to state that the iPad I bought can be updated for at least 6-7 years and that I want to use it for a very long time without lag or other problems.

I just got my iPad Air about two weeks ago. I upgrade from the iPad 7 gen and I just needed a second screen for podcasts recording and note taking so it made my decision easier. Pro is amazing but I can’t n justify spending 2k on that I just use for a second display and TH-cam videos

I went with the 13’ pro with new Magic Keyboard and pencil pro and it’s amazing! That being said, it is also overkill. I am returning for the 13’ air with a Magic Keyboard for that and going to use an after market pencil off amazon. Going to be saving over $700 which I love and will have an almost identical user experience!

I almost always sit at a desk with my Mac and my iPad on a stand. The ONLY reason I went with the M4 was for the facial recognition so I don't have to reach up and touch my iPad. Face ID > Touch ID

I got the 11inch iPad Pro and I think that one was the perfect option for me, I can see why most people would choose the Air over the Pro but in my case having an IPhone Pro max, 1. 11inch was fine for me, still a nice size screen and easier to travel with or place in a backpack, 2. Being a tech guy I didn’t want to feel the downgraded refresh rate or increase in bezel sizes, I also think the speakers and microphones are a good improvement between the 2 models for video watching or ft calls

I went with the base 11” M2 iPad Air instead of the Pro and do not regret it. The M2 is faster than any chip in any other tablet aside from the M4. It is a full-fledged desktop chip that will let the iPad Air stay relevant for years and years. Also, nothing is wrong with the 60 Hz display. Yes, promotion on my iPhone is nice, but I forget about it very quickly. And I’ve actually turned off promotion on my iPhone because I no longer think about it and it saves battery.
Now, on my desktop gaming PC, I absolutely want 120 Hz for response time and motion in games. But on a mobile device where I’m using browsing the web, a consistent 60 Hz is great and always will be.

It's $500 for a better screen, better cpu and more storage, lidar and face id. If that doesn't appeal to you then go with the air
I did something like this - sold my M1 Pro and got the new iPad Air M2 and was a very noticeable change... I am never going for an AIR iPad, it felt like a significant downgrade: the screen is somewhat weird, those large lines on the side.

I actually got the iPad Pro M4 and returned it quickly when I realized that I couldn’t justify it. So like you I traded in a previous iPad Pro 10.5 for the 11’’ iPad Air M2. Less than $300 with my trade. Sure beats $800 with trade for iPad Pro M4.

The M1 Pro as gone from £749 to £999 for the M4 for a 3 main core cpu , had it been the full fat chip this would of steered me to the pro,

I noticed it's coming out of 2 only and I saw on TH-cam videos, people were saying , since it is a stereo speakers, only 2 will work. Can you pls check yours and confirm me please ?
Ipad Air has only two speakers. Ipad Pro has four speakers.

@manohardixit5866 I own an iPad Air M1, and it’s normal, only Pro models have the 4 speaker sound system. The other little wholes are microphones, which seems like a lot to me lol.

I have a M1 12.9" Pro with 1 TB and Wifi. I use it for emails, watching TH-cam Video's. and reading books from Amazon and B&N. I have only used 32 GB of disk space. This will last me the rest of my life!
The only reason I want to get the Pro, is because I'm into photography and I want to see my photos on a good large screen. Also, faceID is soo convenient!

Bir de sizce 13 inçe 10k ekstra para vermek çok mu saçma olur aslında sorulması bile saçma 2inç için çok ciddi bir para sizce 11inç çok mu küçük büyüklüğü nasıl inceleme fırsatınız oldu mu?
I too got Air m2. In my country, the price difference between the Air m2 256gb with applecare+ and the Pro M4 256gb with Applecare+ is around 50%. 😅

The iPad Air m2 is great buy for me. Traded in 2020 12.9 pro. Needed smaller screen but mainly the M2 chip to work with Logic Pro. 128 go is good but 512 would have been better. Logic Pro eats gbs. 90gb for all the downloads.? Ouch
I got the iPad Air M2, and I want to enjoy it. But, the pixel response time just sems straight up bad. Like, has ipad always had this bad of pixel response times? It feels like its ghosting EVERYWHERE.

@@AndrewClare Interesting. I did test around with it more last night and I think I know how to replicate it.
1. Change theme to dark mode
2. In settings, try to drag up and down the left side bar. You'll see it.
3. I think the pixel refresh rate is worse with light text on dark backgrounds.
I sit here with my iPad 10th Gen with 256GB, and content. In fairness I must admit I also have a Tab S9. I think if I didn't have the Tab and iPad I may have gone with an Air.
I decided after this video to buy a used iPad Pro M2 bc I wanted promotion but the price of the new M4 Pro doesn’t make sense. Found an iPad Pro M2, with the Magic Keyboard, folio cover, and Apple Pencil 2 all for $800

I’m a professional artist, so I went with the M4 iPad Pro… but you make a lot of sense. The iPad Air is the iPad most people should get. It’s basically an M2 iPad Pro! More than enough for 99.9999% of iPad users. And that includes many artists as well.
I am still have my iPad Air 5th gen M1 . I don’t feel the need to update for my need . I only will be wasting $500 for a little upgrade. But I am selling my MacBook Air M1 because I don’t need it anymore.
You made the best choice this year The IPad Air is the best deal The M2 chip is wonderful and will preform well for years to come This M4 chip is unnecessary for a IPAD running IPAD OS It’s just a selling point for Apple to make people think they need this new IPAD
its a shame they dont include pro motion on the air, it would dominate in the middle section of tablets if it wasnt locked to 60hz, considering the education price of $549 USD.

Nice to hear from someone actually creating digital art on the iPad Air. Most tech TH-camrs would have you believe that the Pencil is simply unusable on a 60Hz display. I'm personally planning to trade in my M1 Pro for the M2 Air so I can use the Pencil Pro with it. Been to the Apple store today to try it out and I loved it.
Most tech TH-camrs have no sense of how real people use tech
We deserve 120Hz at this price point, but we all know Apple won’t do it because then there will be fewer factors that differentiate the Pros and Airs.
I guess at this point you should get any refurbished iPad M1 or M2 and save some money,
only get the M2 Air2 if you really want to use the Pencil Pro,
and get the M4 if you have money to expend 😅.
All those M1-M4 devices has the same horsepower in the end, iPadOS is the same for all of them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Everything about the M2 air is great, EXCEPT for that disgusting 60hz display. I can’t stand it, especially on a tablet/ipad

But m2 pro is the same price … you get 120 hz, LiDAR , 2 cameras, Face ID, fast usb c, 4 speakers… you have to be a total moron to get “air”
If it's cost prohibitive, then yeah, the Air is better value per dollar. If money isn't an issue, then the complete Pro suite (iPad, Pencil & Keyboard) is the way to go. The OLED display can't be beat. $1K is a lot for a tablet. I get it. But it's definitely not a waste of money. It's a technological marvel and a great option for those with the budget.
I never buy a iPad before my mom buy me a iPad 2 for my birthday that was long time ago I have to see one of my family members or family friends get me a new IPad Air or new IPad Pro for my birthday next month

Over all, a nice vid. One problem, you totally ignored the best thing about the M4 iPad Pro. It has the finest display in the world. I have tried a number of tablets (iPads and Fires) and I just prefer an advanced laptop. They don't need a stand and you put an iPad in a stand/case, there goes that elegant thinness. Make the Mac Book Air with that screen and that would be nearly perfect.
I mentioned the display. the fact you’re paying so much more for that doesn’t make it worth it for most people.
