- Taken aboard Surfliner 6452 with SC-44 #2119 leading.Pacific Surfliner is easily the most scenic corridor train in the country. Fantastic views of the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean through San Clemente and Del Mar Beaches, and views through the Sorrento Valley are underrated as well. Equipment was late coming out of the yard so we ran about 15-20 mins late the whole ride. Top speed of the run is 90 mph with a total run time of 2 hours 54 minutes.

the BNSF table I used was from many years ago so that explains it. I’m not from the area so I don’t know the best resources. thanks a lot!
👋 Hello all, from Washington DC [ Union Station ]
Beautiful!
Thank you for noting the Control Points along the route!
Very nice view and video
great trip ride along video on this picnic surfliner
happy late easter bro!
The San Clemente area has an extremely nice train station!
Nice work, glad to see trip by day, as my flight was delayed 12 hours so my trip down ended up being last train of the night.
this is probably the most scenic corridor train anywhere in the US, definitely worth taking another trip in person if you can.
Next time Comic con international in San Diego
5:50- 7:09 you are passing by the LA Metro Rail Yard for the Red and Purple Lines Subways
4:28- 5:28 you are passing by the LA Metro division 13 maintenance facility
CP FULLERTON: The Orange Subdivision (Amtrak Pacific Surfliner) merge with the San Bernardino Subdivision (Amtrak Southwest Chief) northwest towards Fullerton Station.
you switched the two. Orange Sub takes Surfliner and San Bernardino Sub takes Southwest Chief
woops!
I have a cab ride video of that line. It’s really a busy passenger line. So do you think I’d have an easy time riding the Pennsylvanians rear from Philadelphia to Harrisburg? I’d hate to spend money on a ticket and then not be able to do it.
I wanted to do a cab ride on the way back but they roped off the few rows so it was really hard to frame the shot well and the angle would have been very narrow. I can't guarantee anything but I did not have any problems shooting rear-views on the Pennsylvanian 3 times over 3 different months with 3 different crews. the conductor came to scan my ticket and asked where my seat was and I sit on the row closest to the rear vestibule and they just stuck the seat check there and didn't bother me. you might get some stares from passengers but you could always mount a suction cup if you don't wanna stand for close to 2 hours.
@@nathanjiang100 I’ve been doing things for a long time where people were staring at me and I just tuned them out, but I do have a suction cup
@@nathanjiang100 when you say a cab right I guess you’re talking about those Metroliner control cars. If you wanna try to do one from Philadelphia to New York, try train 652. I know the engineer on that train and he’s usually pretty cool to rail fans and he knows who I am. His name is Reuben. Loves donuts
@3985uprr yeah that’s fair lol. but yeah it’s definitely worth trying, and with the new Siemens trainsets on the horizon you might not have long so do it while you can.
@@3985uprryeah we all know Reuben! he used to be the king of hornshows before he got in trouble but he’s still super cool. I’ve talked to him a few times but I have friends who know him better.
