- I get into the R6 a bit to try to figure out why it's making engine noise. Do we get it figured out??

That’s the oil pump chain and it is normally like that.
Yes, I figured that out eventually. 😂
I can’t find the playlist and you have hundreds of vids. Anyways at least you got another motor.
Put a brake line clamp on the coolant line before removing it from the stub.
I need to get some of those clamps!
@@TomsTinkeringandAdventures The ones I use have a small folding lever which holds the clamp together, or you can use the wing nut ones.

In your opinion which engine is more durable (bulletproof) Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda??
I think issues like what happened here are rare, probably due to neglect or abuse. In the 600cc sport bike category I believe they are pretty equal. It’s difficult to find a bad bike these days.
@@TomsTinkeringandAdventures but if you don't mind, if i had to choose one, which one engine take more abuse or reliable?
Did you change the exhaust header seals like everybody else and torque the headers to spec?😢
I had to replace the engine if you go through all the videos.
Chain runs the oil pump, and it is supposed to be loose
Yep, that’s what I found out. I checked a few things before finding the noise.

@@TomsTinkeringandAdventures I’ve been looking all after the valve check. Where you thought it was bearings. One thing you realize is that oil really fills the bear to crank space as you hear it then don’t.

Hi!, I have taken on a project r6 of my own and this is my first project bike so it will be a good learning experience and your videos have been a ton of help, But I was hoping that you would know where you got that "bundy" or "bundee" tube from and what size I would need for my bike as the same exact thing has happened to mine where that little piece snapped off.
I had forgotten about that, had to watch the video again to see what you meant. I think I got that on Amazon, just did a little bit of research and had to look at a few different pages of stuff they had for sale. At some point after getting this fixed up, I saw the same part for sale at a local auto parts store as well. Best of luck to you!

@@Rush_Recon as a follow up, my son thought that the JB Weld was leaking so he bought a used fuel pump. He found out that the O-ring on the base of the pump was the issue, so the epoxy was still working fine.
Goodluck with the build. Finding parts for the 03-05 models are pricey af!!!
@@Ryan_1997 fortunately the 06-09 R6S parts are the same for the majority of the bike.
I just got a 2004 Yamaha r6 and it has that same noise on engine what could it be???

What did the issue end up being? Was it the cam chain tension by chance?

Front sprocket is lose .
Absolutely was not the problem, but it was loose.
