@Mjintergrale, There is a system available in India that addresses your concerns about flagging bad driving practices besides giving real time accurate data about the fuel consumption and can be monitored continuously.

Drive a fully loaded truck around Devon & see how much of the green band you stay in.

This is 2011. We're now 2017. Do more modern trucks include a lot more automation, sensors, data-mining, and onboard expert systems that would allow a "human supervised auto-pilot" (as opposed to cruise control) to be much more fuel efficient than a properly trained driver?

A combination of a properly trained driver and modern systems should be hard to beat! You can learn more about our more modern system features here: www.volvotrucks.co.uk/en-gb/trucks/volvo-fh-series/features.html.

I am wondering what was was the actual mpg result in both cases ?
Also is it that dangerous in Volvo truck that they both wear Hi-Viz jacket or it is just being lazy in taking them off ?

@Hello Michal Konera, How are you doing?

MPG, it's all about hoaxing the general public. They never tell you what a Route Master does on mpg as it would give the game away. A mid sized family car does about 25 mpg around town but these large trucks are doing near enough the same hauling a load of weight, you do the maths!

Interesting numbers. However these savings are only a measurement of saving in driving this truck.I see a lot of driver input into this something thats not practical in all transport application.I myself would like to see systems to analyse the trucks only while in operation through tracking systems & so on & a flagging system for bad driving practices.
