    She is awesome, I just love her. The best thing about her in my opinion. She doesn't fake it through. Her business surpassed what she even expected I'm sure. I love that she genuinely is surprised by it. She fully gives credit, where credit is do. I bet she makes everyone that works for her feel. they should have just has much input and respect she feels she gets. I think she misses singing though. I wish her all the best and a balanced life.

      She got extremely lucky in meeting Nick and doing Newlyweds on MTV, her brand image skyrocketed because of that show and it's massive popularity, she has been capitalizing on it ever since, she is really nothing special, the reality is she is your average moron with great looks and an ability to sing who surrounded herself with talented business, creative, and marketing partners who knew how to build a business around her with her brand power, without Newlyweds she would've been a forgotten teen pop star

      SXI96 Agreed. If it wasn't for Nick Lachey (teen heartrob), whom at the time was much more popular and made millions of $$$ more, Jessica would be just another washed-up musicians ex wife. Like Britney Spears, they're both just
      entertainers, they're definitely not Christina's, Mariah's, Whitney's or Adele's who are actual singers.

      @@naturalkinkycurlymarie7496 Nick and Newlyweds has EVERYTHING to do with where Jessica is today, before that show, she was a very average teen pop star, once her and Nick became a couple, it jumpstarted her career, the press started paying much more attention because they were a beautiful "it" couple.. then once Newlyweds became a massive hit on MTV, Jessica's career blew up, her brand image skyrocketed which she has used to further her career to this day, people wanted to work with her after she became hugely popular and loved from Newlyweds, (example: The Dessert line of products), she had absolutely nothing to do with creating those products, but once she collaborated with that line, it sold very well, that's brand power..
      She would be no where near as successful today if she did not meet Nick and do Newlyweds on MTV, her career before Nick and Newlyweds really wasn't going anywhere, people really didn't care much about her until they became a couple, the press ate that up, the press and public love beautiful couples like Nick and Jessica, it sells magazines, it attracts viewers, both of them made that show a massive success

    I've been a super fan from day one if her opening her mouth. To me she is totally underated in her singing. She out sings Brittany spears by far. She keeps it real in life in general. I believe her main success is the way she bed herself. She fashions her clothes for the everyday woman or girl or mom, even grandma, she makes everyday clothes. She makes sure she fashions all her products for the everyday person to buy. Prices r perfect and relatable.

    Having worked in private label manufacturing, Jessica is most likely only involved at the very top level of the process - where she picks things she likes, a design team does the foot work, shows the designs to her, she approves the one she likes, samples are made, and someone else decides which ones will move forward based on margins and what the buyers want. I seriously doubt she has any more say in it than that, it certainly doesn't sound like it by how she answers the questions.

    • @osimeon00
      @osimeon00 9 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      unsignedredefined That's what I think too. She doesn't articulate herself too well which makes me think she was never heavily involved.

    • @elib.4786
      @elib.4786 9 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Eli B. Furthermore stop trying to undermine her success by stating she doesn't do anything. At the end of the day she had an idea, surrounded herself with the right people and produced a billion dollar company under the age of 40, what do you do again?....I'll wait

    • @unsignedredefined7525
      @unsignedredefined7525 9 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Eli B. Might want to work on your reading comprehension skills, lol. I never stated or even implied Jessica doesn't do anything, I'm sure she participates at the very top level. Typically if a celebrity name is used, like the Honest Company with Jessica Alba, or Donald Trump's clothing line in Macy's - the celebrity's name is licensed by a 3rd party marketing company and the celebrity is involved at the endorsement level if there is enough money involved. The only exception I know of is Josie Maran, she is hands on during product development. I know this because the private label manufacturer I worked for bid her body butter collection and went through months of samples and revisions to refine the viscosity and fragrance to her specifications. In the end, we lost the bid because of price. Most people (you included) have a very unrealistic idea of how consumer goods are produced, and more importantly - who the decision makers are in that process. To elaborate further, big box retailers have buyers with sales goals and specific demands the brand must meet. This means much of the product development is driven by the store, ie Macy's/Dillard's. You can make frilly blouses, but if they don't meet specific margins, in specific quantities, available in specific colors, with specific availability from the distributor, the buyer will pass on your product and move on to the next. Do you think Lauren Conrad really communicates with the Misses Petites buyers at Kohl's? Regardless, we'll never know the definitive answer because The Jessica Simpson Collection is a privately owned Corporation and doesn't disclose much with the public. A quick Google search reveals her shoe line is licensed to Camuto Group; now I know she doesn't design her own shoes (big surprise there). Anyway, there's no arguing with the ignorant masses of TH-cam, you're going to believe whatever you want. Just hearing Jessica's incoherent rambling should be proof enough she relies heavily on talents of others.

  • @meganwaite82

    Ahh... this is painful to watch.. although her response sound somewhat articulate and heartfelt they are never answering the question he asked.. but in her defense shame on the commentator to think at her level she is hurting and firing.. one of the ill answered questions was regarding how she finds designers etc. she can trust to essentially get the job done right.. when in reality she is being presented clothing she ya’s it nay’s it and at the very most suggests a improvement. Does he really think with a company of this magnitude she is in the textile shops pulling fabric and firing the designer that doesn’t meet her deadlines?? She is beyond that way beyond.. like I said her idea of being a designer is being able to pick an outfit out of a lineup.

    Jessica was extremely lucky to meet Nick and do Newlyweds on a major network like MTV. Her brand image and appeal skyrocketed during that show and she has been exploiting it ever since. Not only that, she has surrounded herself with excellent management and business partners. These people know how to sell and market her products, and make a lot of money in the process.
    Calling her a CEO is very misleading imho. She is a moron with good looks for the most part. She gets all the credit, but she got super lucky with the exposure from Newlyweds to build her image and capitalize on it. Her popularity blew up during that show. Without that show, she would been another forgotten teen pop artist from the 90's/early 2000's.

These are artists who design and make clothes they are not Steve Jobs or Bill gates. but I think Jessica Simpson is the most down to earth person and she knows what woman want and clearly she does because her clothes rock and she is very successful and is smart enough to hire and keep very talented and smart people around her. I wouldn't discredit her at all. Jennifer Lopez and Lauren Conrad(who actually has really great clothes) and Nicole Ritchie and so many other celebrities have brands but Jessica's is worth so much more. I wouldn't discredit her opinion at all.

    • @ohmygollyahottamale5812
      @ohmygollyahottamale5812 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      lisaheart12... Jessica's parents ARE the backbone to her success. Also, celebrities are setup with ONLY the TOP investors, consultants and PR/marketing powerhouses. Additionally, Jennifer Lopez's T.v. shows, hosting appearances and music makes millions of $$$ MORE than Jessica's clothing line! Jennifer started her perfume, accessories and clothing lines several years AFTER Jessica. So, Jlo in fact, is doing much better by far. Futhermore, Lauren Conrad's brand is for frumpy, plain Jane, no sex appeal mid western White girls, like her. She's not at all that, she's just a White girl from a prestigious beach town in Cali. Her brand IS just like she is, completely boring and unappealing! Moreover; Jessica's shoes hurt like hell, like JLo's they're cheap crap, and overpriced as hell. But, are highly sought after by desperate, aimless, women stuck in crappy rural towns, who are current and former teen moms. Basically Jessica and Ashlee wannabes!
