I think she has made a precedent. I was a fan of her when she was a singer, and actually she is a very talented singer. But the music industry sucks ... fashion also BUT I think that Jess was prepared to this world and also very talented and WISER. She was the boss, and it changes EVERYTHING. So yes she's a BOSS and a successfull woman with a lot of talent!!!

LOL.....people actually think Jessica is responsible for the profitability of JSC. She's just the name. There are many people behind the scenes doing the real work. So I'm sorry but trying to herald her as a businesswoman is inauthentic and funny as hell. The is the chick that thinks A,E,I,O,U are continents. Sorry but business savvy and Jessica Simpson don't belong in the same sentence.

amcra1: Well, her skill set wasn't from school studies being excellent...but she was always a great shopper with great taste in clothes and accessories...and her passion did develop a skill set she's applying now. She can guess well what designs women will like or buy. I don't think she suddenly became a brain surgeon or anything. She has managers and lawyers working out deals for her but she wouldn't have as much of a share in the company as she does if she wasn't contributing a bit more than a face. A pretty face might get her 10% if she was lucky for fronting a brand. But 50+% is from contribution.
A good friend of mine is a brand buyer and works with her often. He had clarified to me that she is in control of most everything. He stated that she is right in the fire with the designers etc... so I would have to say you are pretty incorrect here.
