This is the best golf video that I have ever watched. The golf glove in the armpit is awesome. I went to the driving range, grabbed six balls and hit 3 of them with the glove in the armpit. It made a HUGE difference. It created muscle memory. For my next range session, I used that tip less and less....however, when I felt like my swing regressed, I went back to the glove in the armpit and got that "feel" back again of tucking in.
And I figured out the fluid spine tip, also. It is so important to keep the head back behind the ball and give that club clearance to just fly on through.

I love the way you hit the ball at 3:47. I was intentionally looking for the right shoulder/arm/elbow tuck and I did see it. I hit a few balls using this technique yesterday, and it was like effortless power. I hit 5 out of 6 shots with a 7 iron perfectly. I'm in the process of learning the real golf swing, which I never learned when I was younger. And it feels REALLY good to hit the ball right!

It is just wonderful that a pro golfer as talented as yourself is willing to open up and share your complex understanding of how to break down the golf swing in such an easy to understand fashion. You have a remarkable way of giving all the truly crucial pieces information regarding the swing in the best and easiest methods. I’m always surprised at how many people pay pros and walk away and the person was never told to fire the hips to initiate the arm’s down swing or the person wasn’t told to keep their right arm tucked in and the left arm straight “because” they needed those things in place to force the swing outward rather than across the body.
Anyway, what you’re doing is a real service and just great. Keep up the great work.

Amazing instructor. Joined the Top Speed Golf program last week and been watching and working on the drills indoors and hitting range today. Amazing how much more powerful my swing is already. Can't wait to school my friends this summer. Used to be a 5 handicap and now its 25 due to a ton of bad habits as I got older and protecting my back and hips. But, using these exercises and drills, zero pain. Gang, due yourself a favor and join Clay's system. Just take small gulps of the info because all of it is crazy good!

Hi Clay, I developed a destructive pull hook in my swing for the last 12months. Very bad. Couldnt figure it out. Was actually on the verge of quitting it was driving me so crazy! It was ridiculous the amount of balls I was losing. Had worked a lot on tucking that trail arm in. Felt great but found I could get very flicky with the wrists/hands at impact. Was getting to the stage where I was dead off most tee boxes. But this ties in great with a few lessons I got recently. I had obviously sacraficed rotation while working on that trail arm. Club was getting left behind me in the downswing. So much of the golf swing, for me, is just trying to understand where you need to be. So many drill vids out there about 1 tiny part of the swing, which are fine too, but this is great because you give the rotation advice along with the trail arm advice. Its vital. I understand more and more thanks to vids like yours and it massively helps to explain to me where I was going wrong and why I could feel the flicking of the hands/wrists at impact yet never really knew why. Thanks for the great work and keep it up. Regards from Ireland.

Clay, I am so glad that I found your channel. This video I felt like you have been watching me play golf the past few rounds. 😀. I am looking forward to working on this drill/tip at the range and on the course.
My main issue is that I am a right leg amputee and right handed so I feel that I need to really rotate which of course that makes me pull iron and driver shots.
Do you have any tips for golfers that are amputees, which greatly reduces power , to gain some power back in their shots?

Clay Ballard, I've watched a handful of videos regarding pulling irons. Not one mentioned anything about the right elbow. As you said, "We're all athletes," (haha), so no matter where I position the ball, as in, way too far away, I can still make contact if I extend my right arm, which will take my elbow way away from my body, and still pull the ball hard left. So, I'm working on what you showed us. Thank you, G

Thx Clay. Went to the range today, did the tilt spine and then did the tuck arm and elbow. Really worked well hit the ball flush without the hint of a pull. Also further because I could turn thru faster without fear of pull...thank you very much. Now if I could just make a 3 foot putt!!

Went out and played Ambrose. My irons are much sweeter! Even my driving! Will continue to keep watching learning practicing and try to make the shots feel natural

Great tip as usual! I'd like to add that I find keeping my lead arm as straight as possible throughout the swing will significantly help with keeping upper body positions correct. I used to allow my lead arm to bend a lot which seemed to generate steepness issues.
