When Rick was speaking about "the source" it made me think about how 2 people could be writing the same kind of song but 1 gets played on the radio or Spotify or wherever and the other one we'll never get to hear. I think if you have a song and even if you think it's similar to another you should still try to get it heard. "The source" opened up to more than 1 person for a reason. 2 different perspectives of the same kind of song is actually 2 completely different songs, 2 different vibes. Well, it's super easy to get your songs on Spotify. Not sure what you're talking about. FM radio and spotify are entirely different beasts. Getting your song on FM radio, and not just college radio, is going to be where the most advertisers are. Getting your music on spotify, ANYONE, can get their music on Spotify.

I am currently unfamiliar with this teacher's musical achievements. Isn't it a shame that we need "success" and "achievements" to validate someone's words? The words here don't depend on him or his success. It's self-evident.... What if this guy were just a musical no-one? Would it change the truth of the words? No... Here's another paradox... We know that the journey is ultimately a journey of 1 (just 1), yet still it's comforting to hear other enunciate and clarify one's own philosophy. 8:25 such a potent statement, incredibly true in so many ways.
Rick Rubin is a GENIUS. I wish I could afford him to produce my music 🙏

I think if your project would really interested him the money would not matter really - It would need to be really really interesting to get him into. That's the vibe he gives me
@@losophy4588 btw i wasnt trying to sound hateful toward you, i just think rick gets his credits to then later get his credit without actually doing too much. Sure back in the day he would visit the chili peppers mansion he rented for them during BSSM, but you never saw him in a clip during actual recording
Hire him to sit in the sofa 😂
Thank you so much!
Right On Rick! Love this interview because it speaks volumes to a multitude of creatives.
No matter what you create! ⚡🙌🏼🤙🏼
OMG..its 100 percent what i think about music too!!! RESPECT RICK!!!!!
Listening without forming an opinion to understand. Profound way to engage people.
Revelation: "Don't listen to *anyone*, including me!" That kind of lesson always creates a dynamic opposition in the mind/spirit. Thanks, Glo!
Wow … this guy really hits the nail in the head … plus 1 !!
well on means in either way so
As people get older, they always say, I know less now. I’m older now. I so get it. Mr Rubin is right.
Rick Rubin is The Good Sheppard. We are compatible. I will incorporate him into my soul.
I could listen to him for hours
I look forward to working with you Mr Rubin!!!
I’m looking up how to get good vocals, this inspired me to just go for it
Really enjoyed this thanks Lex and Rick listening to Marvin Gaye What's going on Detroit mix as we speak..Love it!
On my way!!!
This video is more valuable than my art degree thats for damn sure
Brilliant! This was the approach i used when making the albums with GG Allin (country album) Tiny Tim (big band album) and Sleepy LaBeef (acoustic album) Great words of wisdom from Mr. Rubin!!
Wow you worked with GG Allin? That’s impressive
This was a great recording to listen to. It melted my heart very beautiful and meaningful..
Thank you for making this and putting it together 🤌
The best thing WE can.
Amazing stuff. Creativity. Inspiration. Grateful for him speaking of creativity in a broader way and not just music production.
This is invaluable. What a gem of an interview
listen to your insight on art itself so if we embrace what don't know order to know more and work towards it and no idea is a waste
5:10 Yes the ethera...it's all around us but we can channel it by openness!
Thanks for this edit 🙏🏼
