The unexpected makes you laugh - I remember being early teens and my mum told my sister and I that auntie so and so had died. We just creased up with laughter - we were shocked, couldn't process it, but it made us laugh. Laughing spirit.

I think if you try to be popular, you will fail. That's kinda what he is saying. He's a very wise man. I recommend the book because it is in sections -- easy to read a part at a time.
