    "Hondye" did a pretty decent job with this car. Definitely looking forward to seeing any changes Hondye is incorporating into the 2014 models.

    Stop light drag racing isn't in my future plan so I think I will be happy with my 2013 Elantra GT. It has features I am not used to having with any cars I had in the past.

    I was looking a 2016 Elantra GT for my wife and TH-cam is showing me all GTs videos avaible. Anyway, is impressive how this channel has grown and also I'm shocked that this video is 5 yo and I believe I saw it years ago too. Congrats for the channel and the persistency. You're now on a whole different league, hard work no doubt. Inspiring as well.

    Great review Alex. I have owned my GT since July 2012. I love my car.

      Um... then you want an Elantra... not a GT. Completely different car, through and through.

    Hyundai technology is 100% Korean technology so you can expect the newest and most advanced auto technology because Korean technology companies are the most advanced in the world (look at Samsung... they are the biggest technology company in the world by revenue).
    FORZA HYUNDAI MOTORS!
    FORZA USA AND KOREA!

    Hi Alex, found your channel today and you had me at trunk comfort index! Really great channel, reviews that are interesting for normal people (those of us who do not powerslide everywhere we go).
    As I own an i30 it's interesting to see the slight differences on the US spec cars. For one the cupholders come with rubber inserts because they're far too large for any normal sized drink. The cruise control also operates differently and has more buttons (such as speed limiter). And of course there's pictograms everywhere instead of TEXT and we have DRL and fog lights.

      @AAutoBuyersGuide  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cup-holders too large? Sounds impossible to me ;-)

    • @redgeminipa
      @redgeminipa 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      The US-spec GT has DRLs and fog lights, too... The odd part is, we have the option to turn off the DRLs on the light switch.

    Great job. Very informative for a prospective buyer.
    Some video of the car in motion from an outside of the car point of view would be good too.

    I have a 2016. Good luck using that "convenient" hatchback button when it's 10°F and iced over solid.
    BTW: I always wonder what reviewers mean when they talk about ...more "power". The Elantra GT has plenty of power --- not only perfectly capable of getting out of it's own way but is actually zippy. Mine does 0 to 60 in 6.8 seconds. What do these guys actually WANT --- the car to win the Daytona 500?

      I'm interested in buying a '13GT that I've stumbled upon. Did you do anything in particular to reach that sub 7" 0-60 mark? Most people say it takes a bit longer than 8" to reach 100Kmh (about 60ish miles/hour).

  • @DACARBOSS.
    @DACARBOSS. 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I had a Hyundai Elantra GT before and it was STOCK (no mods what's so ever) and it could do 0-60 in 6.0 seconds

    Just purchased a 14 germanium red which pops on the sun btw and I don't ever do red. They keep saying the driver selectable steering is gimmicky but I disagree. I use sport on the highway and when I want to drive hard, and I use normal for city driving.

    We have the Acura RLX, Kia Cadenza, Chevy Impala and the Fiat 500L coming up. There will also be a "firs"t drive" of the Tundra and 4Runner this month. Next month we should have the RAM ProMaster and 2014 Corolla and in October we will be getting our hands on the new Accord Hybrid (the non-plug in version).

  • @redgeminipa
    @redgeminipa 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    You should review the '14, since Hun-day (pronunciations aside, even Hyundai pronounces it as I typed it in commercials) now puts the 2.0L in it. Mine has the manual transmission. My biggest complaint is the dead spot in the gas pedal. It makes driving a stick a new learning experience, even for someone who's driven many over the years. Side effect of drive-by-wire, I suppose. The 2.0L and stick combo sure if fun, and the gas mileage isn't too bad, either.
    Another note: you mention the NEED for the Apple connector when connecting an iPhone. Unless there was something wrong with your tester, or a strange limitation of the navigation unit, that isn't the case. My '14 allows me to plug in a Lightning cable alone, and it works perfectly (base head unit). Same goes for my cousin's '13 GT with base head unit. On another note, it worked the same way in my '12 Sonata SE... no dongles required, just a simple Lightning cable.

      the 2018 elantra gt clutch catches high and is abrupt. I've driven manual for 27 years. I didn't like it.

    For a strange reason, I am staring to like this car.......we all know that Hyundai comes a long way and they did an excellent job and would like to get a 6 speed manual but would it be worth it for me to trade in my 2005 mazda 3s?? That's a good question

      I currently own a 2013 elantra GT manual. It's a lot of fun to drive. Just make sure you leave the driving into sport mode.
      I've had a Genesis coupe 2.0 Turbo for 2 years before that. I couldn't stand the driving of the Elantra Sedan. But the GT really is fun.

      I just bought a 2014 GT with Style package and manual transmission. The '14 now has the 2.0L talked about in this video. It's a much needed improvement, and it really needs reviewed again.

    Focus is the better comparison to this model. I would try and get an Focus ST with no extra features to keep the price around 25k over the Hyundai however. The Hyundai is good looking outside and inside (steering wheel exception).

    26-28 MPG for an "economy" car?!?! No wonder Hyundai/Kia are on the government's radar screen for falsifying mileage estimates. That is awful for 2013.
