I have the 2013 elantra gt with everything. Now 43,697 miles on it.and all I can say is wow. I'm still in love with my car.no problems at all.still looks new.i will buy another hyundai in the future or even a kia to support them.i don't care what anyone says about kia or hyundai, they were bad cars before but now they are great. People are stuck in the past. Great video by the way.

How's the car going? Have you moved on? Any major issues with it?

The best review of this car on video. Honest and thorough. I own this same car but with automatic transmission. I think it's great. This is not a first new car for me, it is my fifth and a great value. Hyundai has come a long way. Thanks for the review.

I recently purchased a used one w/ 25k miles complete with the style & tech package. Great everyday car, great warranty, great features I like the LED tail lights. Feels spacious & more expensive than it is. Not bad at all.

This trim is the way to go! Fully loaded with a manual transmission is hard to come by in this class! I have this same car, and love it. Picked it up used for 16,000, lifetime warranty and only 18k miles. I only wish I got the two tone interior like the car here. However, buying used in 2017 like I did, I couldn't be picky (the next loaded car with a manual was 500 miles away)

The one in this video is exactly the one I want. I mean EXACTLY to the core. White ext. beige and black leather interior. Manual trans. and panoramic sunroof. I'm really considering going to the Hyundai dealership tomorrow to see if they have this exact same vehicle as the one shown in this video and if they do, see what they can offer me. If they can offer me a decent trade in, then I'm getting tomorrow no matter what.

I own a 14 with manual tranny, style, and tech package. Clearly, sat on the lot for a year as no one wanted to buy an MT with leather and all the bells and whistles pricing. They let it go for the price of base 16s just arriving. Now at 35K miles, still love it. No issues at all. I know it is not fast and not a sports car - but the 2.0 motor and the "sport" suspension bring it up to the level of and maybe past many other cars in the class. All the tech, leather, sun roof, etc really make this a car to enjoy even 35K miles into ownership. Kids grown, nice not to need a minivan any more!
BTW - fold down the back seats and a goalie bag easily fits. Car really comes to life once those terrible stock tires get replaced! Nice review and accurate.

Hey, I bought the same car but my 2014 sat on the lot for over 2 years and I got it for the base price!

I just bought one of these in Windy Sea Blue, but mine only has the Style package. I must say, I agree with you about the interior and driving dynamics. I traded in a '12 Sonata SE, and the interior of this is much better. I just filled up this morning, and my first tank averaged 31.4 with about 25% city driving. So far, that's about 4-5 MPG better than I got with the Sonata, so I'm happy.

Its interesting that you can get a loaded Elantra GT with a Manual but not with the coupe. Great Review as always tho Sam :)

Hyundai is the come back kid along with sister company Kia. 10 years ago, no way Jose on those horrible rattle boxes. But now! Wow! Zowie! Pow! Here they come keeping the established on their toes, and honest. Love it! Makes for a better product for everyone! Everyone wins! Great review. Loved it.

I just picked up one with 138,000 mi, I'm the third owner, it runs and drives great, I got it for a great deal as well, and I've had a few Hyundai products and I will say I have had a 2.0 Hyundai Tiburon that wasn't '07 and this engine runs so much smoother and the shifter is a lot less nachy

Beige interior looks awesome. And it's not available here in Canada on any trim level. In fact in Canada, if you want a manual transmission, you can't get leather, navigation, style, or even the nice wheels. This is such an awesome car, too bad Hyundai doesn't want to offer decent options to Canadian consumers who are willing to pay for them (and they go to great lengths to ensure we don't buy from the USA)

Great head room in the back compared to the competition.

  • @t4705mb6

The Ford and VW "competition" have very serious reliability problems that can lead to HUGE expenses down the road ... so to speak.
I own a 2016 automatic. My biggest expense was changing the cheap tires which greatly improved the ride and noise and and the toy like plastic wheel covers which crack and break in cold weather.
I also bought carpet mats. Hyundai's "carpeting" obviously came from the $1 store.

THE BIGGEST PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR IS IT NEEDS THE 1.6L WITH 201HP that would hava been WAAAAAAAAY more fun.

There is a hot hatch variant that was spied in testing somewhere in Europe I believe, where it's primary market will likely be.

Well yes. They may bring it to the US, but personally I don't see many people buying a Hyundai as a performance kind of vehicle, certainly not in the hot hatch segment which is typically dominated by young drivers.
