    I have been watching your videos to help me get MSFS2020 going, but your instructions on how to set up the Bravo, were fantastic and they have to be an "absolute must" - all of them- for anybody starting with that device. Thank you very much!

    Another superb video. As I’ve reported, I’ve had my Bravo on order from Amazon UK since 3rd August and they’re saying, we don’t know when, I think they’ve given up ever getting any. So I’ve ordered one from Aerosoft, and they’re saying Spring. The good news is that when I eventually get one I will be able to use your super videos to set it up.

    Mark, may I thankyou very, very much for this and your other instructional videos. I am a retired Paramedic (Back injury) and having to retire on ill health grounds from the job I loved put me into a low mood commonly known as reactive depression. I always loved ANYTHING aviation related.
    I discovered Building and repairing PC's/Laptops but although I have built some cutting edge gaming machines for family and friends I have to confess to not being as proficient in running these machines especially Key Mapping! A topic i had previously loathed!
    I had pre-ordered the Alpha and Bravo products from Honeycomb and bought a second hand, but immaculate Saitek Rudder pedals setup. All was good, All was ready for MSFS2020
    Until I encountered key mapping. Especially the absence of Throttle 2 in the default settings. At one stage I was on verge of returning the Bravo TQ's as I was convinced I must have had a faulty unit.
    Until I saw your channel.
    You have a engaging and refreshingly easy to follow Teaching style, Were you a teacher in a past life? Anyway After following your instructions to the letter I have a fully configured Honeycomb, 'Home flight sim' set up fully configured! ( I even got the hang of how to keymap properly, so much so my saitek rudder pedals are fully configured too (Yes I know there's not much to map with them but they were no longer a slightly scary proposition, as they were previously!
    To reiterate Thank you so much for setting on the right path, or should that read 'Taxiway' !
    to both 'Sim=Hanger' and all fellow flight sim enthusiasts, please Take care and stay safe.

    Hi everyone!
    Unfortunately, the instructions described in this video regarding TBM-930 set up, no longer work. Please refer to the instructions below for a current Power Management solution.
    I use the 1st and 3rd joystick columns on my BTQ for my TBM-930 set up. If you like, configure your BTQ as listed below:
    THROTTLE:
    Throttle 1 Axis - Joystick L-Axis Y
    Throttle 1 Decrease - Joystick B24
    Throttle 1 Cut - Joystick B26
    PROPELLER:
    Propeller 1 Pitch HI:
    Joystick R-Axis Z+ (&) Joystick B26
    Notes:
    - With this set up, you cannot move from low idle directly to high idle. To move to high idle from low, first take the propeller joystick out of detent, then slightly move the throttle joystick. Now push the propeller joystick up to move to high idle. However, you can move from high idle directly to low.
    - Any any point, to get the A/C's Throttle Stick back to the left side of the console, make sure the propeller joystick is neutral/idle, not up or in the detent position, then move the throttle joystick.
    - To cut the engine, move the propeller joystick to detent, and move the throttle joystick to detent.
    I hope this helps someone🙂.

    I'd like to add a "me too" to the commenter who asked about the best setup for the DA62. Had hoped this video might show it in the Options sections when it showed that aircraft, but it wasn't to be. The search continues. With its FADEC controls and other variations from the classic throttle/prop/mixture twins, I'm starting to think that using a twin turboprop or jet as template might be the best. I might even use those throttles instead of the GA version.

    Great videos - I noticed that you are able to take the prop lever into the detent. When I program it and then checking it, the lever does not go into the detent for feather or throttle reverse. What am I possibly missing?

  • @georgesiebes
    @georgesiebes 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi Mark, thanks, all set with the basics. Here are some extras I liked: 1. On the fixed wheel planes (most GA) I have the Parking Brake handled by the Gear switch. It creates a real physical feel that fits the PB handle very well. 2. I too left space between Throttle and Prop, but I pointed the empty base of the 2nd axis upwards and covered it "upside down". The cover fits just as good and it gives more hand-room to handle the throttle in the lower half of it's range, which is where 90% of the action happens.
    I also have a question: How are people mapping the ignition and the starter buttons in the Grand Caravan, I'm not having any luck with those. Apparently those seven toggle switches do not behave as a one-time action switch, but rather generate ongoing, repetitive actions (causing the stuttering). As you probably found out, those seven switches work best with the "Set xyz" functions e.g. Set Cabin Lights = Joystick Button 36, nothing else. Mark, please consider a tutorial on that part of the BTQ, some of it is, surprisingly, rather tricky.

    • @SimHangerFS
      @SimHangerFS  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is tricky. For parking brake I had to use toggle. Fuel pumps were also a challenge and my setup works with most GA aircraft, but a bit hit and miss on the jets. The gear lever for ga is a great idea. I’m definitely going to have to try that. 👍

    Thanks for the detailed explanation, I just got my Bravo last week and tried it out for the first time last night and found it’s not quotes a plug and play as the yoke was. The problems I’m having are: 1- axis are not mining the levers in sim accurately, it’s like there are a few positions, moving the throttle /mixture /prop through the range the sim jumps between a few positions. The worst part is that it’s not the same for both engines (eg with bravo quad both throttles 50% left engine sim lever is about 25% right is still full throttle) on any levers so it does make for some very interesting yaw conditions. When you look at response curves they register there correctly, it’s just in the plane. I’ve also set the responses to linear to try to equalize to no avail. This is happening in MSFS and X-Plane 11. 2- more of an annoyance but in MSFS only I have to set throttle 2 to reverse axis but throttle 1 does not need to be. That isn’t a problem in X-Plane.
    Troubleshooting to resume tonight, but your video will give me a head start.

I used a variation of your tip, after unassigning and reassigning the axis’s multiple times, I unassigned them and exited the sim, came back in and assigned the throttle, prop, and mixture axis’s and it worked. Much more controllable! That was MSFS, now for X-Plane.

    Good, it would be helpful if you talked a bit slower and showed which switches or buttons you were mapping. I had to stop and restart the video several times to finally understand where you were headed with you instructions. Good video and well thought out but please slow down a bit.

    Hi everyone. Anyone know how to get the reverse thrusters to work on the Beechcraft Baron G58 using the Bravo Throttle Quadrant? I have Throttle 1 Decrease set to detent button 24, and Throttle 2 Decrease set to detent button 25. When I pull the levers all the way down, the A/C doesn't move in reverse at all. Can anyone help?

      Hello, the G38 does not have reverse thrust…so setting this has no impact. The King Air does.

      From cold start, is there a way to start 1 engine at a time on the Beechcraft Baron G58 using the Honeycomb Alpha Flight Controls yoke?
      I try to follow the in-sim checklist, but it seems I can only start both engine using the yoke...

    @SimHanger Flight Simulation, I have an issue with the BTQ and wanted to know if you had any insight about it. I setup the throttle as instructed by the video, and when I move the throttle up, it increases as should in the sim. The only prob is that when the throttle is nearly all the way up in the sim it’s only at around 50%. When I move the throttle all the way up, in the sim, it then jumps up suddenly to full throttle, like a glitch. This isn’t a huge issue with the airliners but with the GA aircraft it can be quite annoying. Let me know when if you know anything about this 😁

      Hello, firstly check the sensitivity of your axis in sim. To test make all axis default. Secondly it could be you have something else also allocation to the throttle....check all controllers and buttons. Also check the calibration of all axis in windows. Does this happen on all axis or just one?

    • @1MindMuscleMastery
      @1MindMuscleMastery 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SimHangerFS thanks for the help 😁 I will test tomorrow and I will update you then

    • @1MindMuscleMastery
      @1MindMuscleMastery 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SimHangerFS ok so I found that other controllers in the sim had a button assigned to throttle so I cleared all those inputs and still the same thing. The sensitivity on the axis was already default, so I went into Windows’ calibration wizard and the axis appeared normal. Let me know if you know anything else. Your help is greatly appreciated 😁
