Christina, you are so gorgeous and that was so helpful, thank you!!! I recently decided I want to become a flight attendant and it's super helpful to hear about what it's been like for you, especially being on reserve. I'm older but healthy and energetic and looking for a career change. Actually I haven't worked professionally for nearly 25 years but been self-employed and done loads of volunteer jobs. The part you shared about the "crash pad" sounded like would be the hardest for me. I live in Boston and hoping I could be based there so I have my sights set on American. How to you actually apply for a job? I signed up for the American Airlines job opportunities on their website. I've lived in Boston for 30 years but am Australian by birth so I do want an airline that goes there. I'm currently working on my resume -- I'm hoping yoga teacher and rabbit rescue volunteer are qualities the airline is looking for lol. Laborious is a word and you used it perfectly though it can be pronounced differently. I really loved your video and you are a very beautiful person. Peace.
Thanks for tuning in Wendy! I think it’d be a great career change for you since you’ve been self employed, because you’re not stuck under management all the time. If you find a crashpad you’re really comfortable in (and not overcrowded), it’s definitely doable. I’ve heard great things about American, and yep just apply straight through their websites. They are really big on customer service experience and so I’m sure your volunteer work and job experience will work! Thanks so much 💖💖
Wow this is so informative and detailed, thank you so much. Good for you for following your heart and sticking to what feels right for you. It’s your path, no one else’s!
After a month of being a Flight Attendant, I started meal prepping because the airport food is so expensive. Also, I could not do crashpads, i just got hotel but I love the tips you shared💙✈
Absolutely I don’t see how people don’t meal prep! And yeah the crashpads are a sacrifice for sure. But I’m glad they resonated with you 🥰hope the skies are treating you well!
This is great information. You are a God-send ! Im in the exact same situation trying to decide which airline. Going to interview this week with one airline .And got CJO to start training with another airline for next month. Good to have options.

I always wanted to be a flight attendant, this video was very helpful. Hopefully my schedule will be fitting cause I already have a job but it’s not fully.❤
I’ve always wondered if the people who get bumped from a flight while waiting for a seat if they got bumped because those seats went to airline employees flying on standby.
No ma’am, never! Standby is always the very last people to board the plane, and even then they will be taken off sometimes if the seat is needed for revenue passengers
I know this video is old so I’m super late lol but I’ve been watching your videos to learn more about FA life. I have a “hospitality call” with SW and I’m so nervous because this would be something so new for me I’ve been on a plane literally twice 😂 but the problem is I can’t choose if I should be an FA or work from home mind you I prayed for both of these jobs 🤦♀️I’ve been praying about it and listening to you talk about your walk with God which I’m trying to do as well , but how can you tell when it’s Him talking to you when you have a tough decision to make like this?

Besides the pay, there's more job security and you'll experience more destinations! Good luck to you! And thank you for being what a flight attendant should be 😊
Very true it may take a few trainings to find your forever airline! Luckily I’m still a baby in seniority in case I ever want to make the switch lol. Thank you very much 🥰✈️
Hi Christina, I loved watching this video. You seem very genuine. It felt as if you were talking directly to me. I know you briefly discussed crash pads come in different sizes and styles. My question is when it comes to crash pads, do we get our own space? For example, will I have my own room with my own bed in it or would it be set up as a room with multiple beds for multiple people to sleep together? Thank you for always commenting back. You are a lifesaver!
Hi love! So glad you enjoyed the vid 🥰with crashpads their are multiple options. You can choose one with your own room or shared space. Just note of course the single rooms will be more expensive.

WANT TO BE A FLIGHT ATTENDANT? 1. Go to a resale store and find an old, navy blue suit that an army sergeant might have worn. Add a white shirt and a tie. Wear the same outfit for four consecutive days, every week all year long. 2. Go to an airport and watch airplanes take off for several hours. Pretend you are standing by for them and they are full. Go home. Return to the airport the next day and do the same thing again. 3. Fill several large boxes with rocks. Lift them over your head and place them on the top shelf of a closet. Slam the door shut until the boxes fit. Do this until you feel a disk slip in your back. Smile. 4. Turn on the radio. Be sure to set it between stations so there is plenty of static. Turn on the vacuum cleaner and garbage disposal. Run them all night. Smile. 5. Remove the covers from several TV dinner entrees. Place them in a hot oven. Leave the food in the oven until it's completely dried out. Remove hot trays with your bare hands. Serve to your family. Don't include anything for yourself. Eat peanuts. Smile. 6. Serve your family a beverage one hour after they've received their meal. Make them remain in their seats during this time. Ask them to scream at you and complain about the service. Eat peanuts. Smile. 7. Scrounge uneaten rolls off the plates for you to eat two hours later when you're really hungry. Eat peanuts. Smile. 8. Place a straight-backed chair in the closet next to the bathroom, facing a blank wall. Use a belt to strap yourself in into it. Eat the stale rolls you saved from your family's meal, preferably while someone is USING the bathroom. Smile. 9. Ask your family to use the bathroom as frequently as possible. Tell them to make splashing water a game and see who can leave the most disgusting mess. Clean the bathroom every hour throughout the night. Drink stale coffee in the closet next to the bathroom. Eat peanuts. Smile. 10. Make a narrow aisle between several dining room chairs and randomly scatter your families shoes along the way. Turn off the lights and spend the night walking up and down the aisle while banging your shins against the chair legs and tripping over the shoes. Drink several cups of cold, stale coffee to keep yourself awake. Smile. 11. Stay up all night, then wake your family in the morning and serve them a cold, hard sweet roll. Don't forget to smile and wish them a nice day when they leave for work or school. Ask them to berate you. Smile. 12. After the family leaves, take a suitcase and go out (preferably in winter) in the yard. If it's not raining, turn on the sprinker system and stand in the cold and wet for 30 minutes, pretending you are waiting for the crew bus to pick you up. Then go inside and wait by your bedroom door for ANOTHER 30 minutes while an imaginary maid cleans and makes up your room. Smile. 13. Change into street clothes and shop for 5 hours. Pick up carry-out food from your local deli. Go back home. Sit on your bed and eat your meal. Set your alarm for 3 a.m. so you'll be ready for your wake up call. (It's now 12:30 a.m.) Smile. 14. Repeat the above schedule for four days in a row and you'll be ready to work your first trip as a flight attendant! 15. Repeat the above schedule after just three days off, every week for twelve month's straight. NOW you're ready to be a flight attendant!! NOW YOU'VE HAD YOUR CAREER AS A FLIGHT ATTENDANT!
I hollered 🤣😂 sounds about right. But even with all of the foolery, I wouldn’t trade this job for any other one at the moment! One thing I learned people truly either love this industry or hate it; no in between lol
@@SparkleJae no ma’am lol once you are notified of a trip you’re required to be there on time. No exceptions, so if you have anything going on it’d be best to just call in sick (which is points). It’s really hard to schedule appts and stuff on reserve 😫

I wish 🤣 well you can when you fly standby like non-reving, but it will be an extra charge. When you’re working, no you’re not allowed to bring your pets lol
I want to be a flight attendant so bad, but I have thyroid issues, ( i have to get it checked every 3 months) but i think i can manage that, my main concern is how i would pay my phone bill, my car insurance, get my hair fixed for work and other things ladies need and desire especially for working in the public. I have no family, no support. No extra money....I can save as much as i can but , it may take me another year just to save enough to survive alone... Is it a total no for me?
Definitely not a total no. Pick up as much as you can, or once you get settled into the job opt for an additional part time job. Outside of that, trust the Lord and have faith. If the job is truly for you, He will always make a way 🙏🏽❤️❤️ praying for you don’t give up on your dream job!
A few questions… 1.) being a black woman how is it tryin to maintain your hair? Is there a certain look you have to have 2.) how did you maintain being on reserve/ how long are you on reserve 3.) I’m uncertain of my future and this job sounded like a good fit I don’t have kids nor a spouse would u just take the risk 4.) was it hard having a small check
1) Thankfully there are no more super strict restrictions on hairstyles for black women, so feel free to wear it in its natural state! But it usually can’t be past waist length. Planning out hair appointments can be kind of hard on reserve since you never really know when you’re working lol. 2) time on reserve varies with each airline. The main carriers definitely take a lot longer (many years). Smaller airlines can take a few months to years but relatively shorter than main lines. 3) most definitely, I took this job because I was sick of working a regular desk 9-5 and I have no spouse or kids 🤣 4) yes it can be hard having small checks, but try and pick up where you can and trust that the Lord will handle the rest! Hope this helped ❤️
I feel like I'm interested in this as a career and as a flight attendant but I dont know how to balance between spending time with with my daughter and my family and having that free time.
It will be a sacrifice in the beginning especially while on reserve, I would say find an airline where you will get a line the quickest!! It will help so much with free time/quality of life 💗

You can make it work if your partner is willing, just takes communication! 💕
i have truly been thinking about becoming a flight attendant. You just gave me confirmation on what I had already decided. I truly love your Vlog and i think you represent your airline well. Thank you for your inspiration and empowerment.

God bless! 🥰✈️
Thank you so much for this video. I just started this journey. I’m excited to be doing a F2F with a regional next week. I’m still in the running for a mainline and I was asking myself what if I get this regional and then the mainline calls….. you’ve helped me, thanks again
Congratulations love!! 🥰✈️ and definitely go with the one you feel most called to! 💗
Just got hired with your airline and I'm nervous, scared, excited, and curious all at the same time. Great video. Hopefully I'll see ya in the sky sometime but if not, this video gave great perspective. 🙌🏾✈️
Exactly how I felt LOL!!! Congratulationssss, you will eventually get into the groove of things and it’ll get a lot smoother. Just always be open to learn and adapt. Hope to see you in the skies!! 🥰✈️

Yep that’s me! 🤣

Assuming you fly for spirit based on how you describe it
WANT TO BE A FLIGHT ATTENDANT?

And they will! 🤣
Definitely can't be doing whatever when they may just pop up with that be ready. I am starting to realize that reserve life is super unpredictable

@@SparkleJae no ma’am lol once you are notified of a trip you’re required to be there on time. No exceptions, so if you have anything going on it’d be best to just call in sick (which is points). It’s really hard to schedule appts and stuff on reserve 😫

Hello I enjoyed your video! Thank you!
I love your video❤️❤️💯
❤️❤️
Hello!! I got a F2F invitation with your airline, but I can't take that big of a pay cut :( DANG IT, I'm a nurse ;) :( Congratulations on your job!!
Understandable! Try for a larger main airline, pay is pretty good! Best of luck and thank you 🥰
A few questions…
1.) being a black woman how is it tryin to maintain your hair? Is there a certain look you have to have
2.) how did you maintain being on reserve/ how long are you on reserve
3.) I’m uncertain of my future and this job sounded like a good fit I don’t have kids nor a spouse would u just take the risk
4.) was it hard having a small check
1) Thankfully there are no more super strict restrictions on hairstyles for black women, so feel free to wear it in its natural state! But it usually can’t be past waist length. Planning out hair appointments can be kind of hard on reserve since you never really know when you’re working lol.
2) time on reserve varies with each airline. The main carriers definitely take a lot longer (many years). Smaller airlines can take a few months to years but relatively shorter than main lines.
3) most definitely, I took this job because I was sick of working a regular desk 9-5 and I have no spouse or kids 🤣
4) yes it can be hard having small checks, but try and pick up where you can and trust that the Lord will handle the rest!
Hope this helped ❤️
Thank you 🙏🏽 thank you 🙏🏽 for this informative and helpful info ! ❤️👍 blessings and good luck Beautiful
