I've seen and heard most (maybe all) of these Larry Trash Talk comments on other videos but yours was the first where you followed the "you're disrespecting me" Larry Bird comment with video of WHAT Larry did to that specific player afterwards. Seeing him score baskets in a game against the player that caused Larry to complain in the first place emphasizes the point a lot more than just moving from one basketball great to another saying how good of a trash talker Larry was, especially in the clips where the opposing player himself commented on his bad night. I realize that in the 80's the tv coverage wasn't that good and even if video exists it can be of poor quality but I liked that, where you could, you showed the player and the plays that happened in the game that Bird made the statement along with comments said by the player that Larry was complaining about.

Not sure I'd call Bird "humble", but he certainly showed respect to fellow players - much more so after he retired. I do find it strange when people say he wasn't strong, though. Michael Cooper, (who Bird said was the best defender he ever played against) claimed that Bird was one of the strongest guys he ever faced - just went wherever he wanted to go and there was nothing you could do about it. You could be hanging on his jersey or grabbing his arm, and he'd just shoot right through you. Great reaction - love it when the younger generation respects the old-school late 70s to early 90s players. The league wouldn't be what it is without Magic, Bird, Olajuwon, Malone (Karl and Moses), Dr. J, and Kareem - just to name a few.

18:03 I think you are correct about the era when Micheal Jordan started to take over. It was a transition period for the NBA and a sharp dividing line between the 50% defense and 50% offense of the Magic/Bird Era. When Jordan was dominating it was 60/40 offense/defense. The current NBA is unwatchable at 75/25.
The best thing about being from indiana. When you talk to the young generation about basketball they name five to six players they like. Then they ask me who I like. One Bird, they go quiet like I grounded them.
Right, Most of the current future iconic players have the physical, more athletic abilities, just like the players back in Larrys day, he was just shy of 6'10", but there is a vast difference between excelling with physical dominance vs the TOTAL all around better player who was dangerous off ball almost more than on offense. All games depend on strategy that you adapt to the teams you play.....No one could rush his shot or his passing...the one area Bird was lacking in...was a dunk package. also,,,,,he didn't shoot 3s all day like now in the league....but he used the 3 shot and usually made them in clutch sitches, when they were needed.... shooting 3s throughout a game does not guarantee a win.....check out the play off game against Michaels bulls when the Celts swept them even tho MJ outscored LB by a good bit, but still lost. And there hasn't been and never will be a player with the staggering toughness Larry had.....there are very few men period that could endure pain and not quit or take their shit back a notch or two.....Larry, until the very end when his back and other conditions affected his physical ability to move normally at all caused his career to end...not the pain at that point because he had been pushing thru it for years. He had old school values and principles that are rare now, name any player now or ever that not only kept playing with debilitating injury or conditions, but that did it the way Bird did.....He performed at his superior level and kept up the 'all in' physicality, he was all about the team and the ws. Not individual stats or out-scoring anyone, (except MHale 57) it just happened because he was that good. I find it not possible and childish to compare players one on one to determine the best, that would be ok if the players being compared had the same capabilities, Birds game was so unlike almost all other players and even between those players it will never mean shit because they need a common level ground to even start being compared....it's like comparing a vocalist that has unbelievable range, pitch etc....to the vocalist that has the same power, range pitch....but has soul and heart when they belt out a song and make you feel instead of just hear the song. They are not on the same level already by just being different so you can't just decide to pick and chose the criteria to use to measure them against each other like there are no other points to consider that matter. I call bullshit. I have 3 GOATS and they share top spot because greatness at that fucking level is negligible and insignificant.....drum roll please......LB, MJ and WIlt the Stilt. (Jordan not Magic, although I love hm too)
I think it's a real shame that we are afraid to say "white" or "black"!!!! It is what it is! We ALL know that most great BB players are black but every once in a while there's an exception to the rule!!!! I love that they were able to interact like that and love every second of it!
Remember the Larry Springer, keep in mind of those quotes and stories of self dedication, I think for young men he shares great positivity for Life quests. You still have the best LB reaction vids.
Great reaction video. I suggest you do one on the video about his father committing suicide. It really is a sad story and makes you realize what made this guy tough as nails.
No matter what all the GOAT talk is and will ever be, Larry Bird is the most skilled player ever. If you didn't have him in an all time starting 5, you really don't know basketball.
To show how great Larry Bird was Pat Riley once said he would take Michael Jordan to take a game winning shot but he would take Larry Bird if the shot would save his life, I think that is all that needs to be said about the skills Larry Bird had on the basketball court.
Bird is my GOAT & i grew up watch every home game through 80s on Sundays courts were empry until 330 when Cs were over then u Couldn't get on court for an hour
Larry Legend played chess.. not checkers.. and played with the fundamentals of basketball.. I still don't understand why he was called the slow, chubby white dude.. I honestly don't think he was slow or chubby lol.. He was making other guys look slow. My favorite line though is when the one guy says.. Dude I'm just trying to make a living... so funny,
My top five NBA players: 1.Micheal Jordan 2. Bill Russell 3. Wilt Chamberlain 4. George Mikan 5. Magic Johson/Larry Bird (Johnson won more championships so Bird would be 6th, but it's very close)
@@dtaenodinero He played for the Minneapolis Lakers and then the LA Lakers when the team was stolen from Minnesota. Mikan has plenty of accolades. He was very tall.
He actually didn't swing, but he made his point. They were getting ejected anyway. Keep in mind, Magic got MVP of the finals as a rookie playing all five positions. As a freakin rookie. He is the only rookie to ever get MVP of the finals. MJ learned the trash talking and clutch from Larry Bird. Those are the top 3. Kobe could have been there if he was a better teammate, Lebron if he had the clutch of any of those 3. Everyone else is just a step below those 3. Those 3 in there prime together would make anyone else look like the Washington Generals.
I started watching the NBA in 1975 and so, my opinion is based on the timeline from that year to 2024. With that, Bird ranks 6th best ever behind Jordan, Lebron, Magic, Kobe, and Jabbar. In 10 years, he "might" be down to 7th (after Jokic retires.)
Naw he’s number 1 for sure and the reason being is basketball is a team sport so if every one of them lines up 1v1 Larry comes out on 1-3 because of his skill. Only competition in this scenario is Kobe because he can score 3 different ways
After many games like this with last shot assassinations the Lakers did the same thing. There is no reason to beat a team by 30 points, that's running scared! You can run, but you can't hide! So the Lakers would just beat you by 1 point which is frightening to most teams, they just wonder how you are going to get that 1 point. It sure fucks the spread in gambling!
@@dtaenodinero 😂😂😂 ...and you would lose! That was the Golden Age of the Lakers, in an 81 game season we took all bets. The only time I was ever worried was when the Lakers played the Pistons. No one could make a shot, not even a free throw, except Kareem! He had ice water in his veins and hit every shot! I bow down to Kareem! I had never been so knotted up inside from watching a game, it was like being drawn and quartered, because the pressure was so high.

It was a transition period for the NBA and a sharp dividing line between the 50% defense and 50% offense of the Magic/Bird Era. When Jordan was dominating it was 60/40 offense/defense. The current NBA is unwatchable at 75/25.
I love the voice of the narrator.
Me too, my favorite content creator on yours honestly
(Jordan not Magic, although I love hm too)
💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Anyone else catch Thomas shoving Byrd’s head?… 7:24….
I was waiting to see who was going to notice that 😂 he was a real bird fan
That was not Tom Chambers jumping center for the Sonics, it was Jack Sikma.
Ok
I think it's a real shame that we are afraid to say "white" or "black"!!!! It is what it is! We ALL know that most great BB players are black but every once in a while there's an exception to the rule!!!! I love that they were able to interact like that and love every second of it!
Remember the Larry Springer, keep in mind of those quotes and stories of self dedication, I think for young men he shares great positivity for Life quests. You still have the best LB reaction vids.
Great point. And thanks for the compliment ✅🍀💚
Your a Goat 🐐 reactor I am so happy 😁 to see you D things will get better God bless you 🙏 my friend 🙏❤️
I appreciate that 💚 and needed it
Great reaction video. I suggest you do one on the video about his father committing suicide. It really is a sad story and makes you realize what made this guy tough as nails.
I have already but I’ll look to see if there are any new videos about it, if so I’ll do another. Check out the Larry bird playlist I have
D mj and Kobe had Larry legend in there top 5 Kobe watched Larry Legend videos over and over again
Dude! Great video! I'm with you about Jordan.
Appreciate it! And I take nothing away from how good he was, I just have to add that flaw in to separate Mike from Larry
Great reaction. 👍 In his prime Bird was as good or better than anyone who ever played the game
Bird demolished every color and shade. Never heard of anybody stopping him.
No matter what all the GOAT talk is and will ever be, Larry Bird is the most skilled player ever. If you didn't have him in an all time starting 5, you really don't know basketball.
Facts
W reaction!!
#birdgang 💚🐐🍀
Thanks
To show how great Larry Bird was Pat Riley once said he would take Michael Jordan to take a game winning shot but he would take Larry Bird if the shot would save his life, I think that is all that needs to be said about the skills Larry Bird had on the basketball court.
Facts.
After the Pistons slapped Jordan around, they changed the rules
lol they couldn’t let their next generation baby look bad out there cause the league would’ve lost money and that’s sad
I really appreciate whar you say..
At 7:30 Isiah pushed Bird in the back of the head after he made the winning shot, but Bird was such a dick, he acted like nothing happened.
I don’t think he acted funny about it, he just wasn’t that excited because he makes that shot on the norm
Your comments were on the mark.
Thanks
Nice work...n your composure 2 watch without slot of comment
Bird is my GOAT & i grew up watch every home game through 80s on Sundays courts were empry until 330 when Cs were over then u Couldn't get on court for an hour
Now that’s a memorable moment you’ll never forget
Larry loved to fight on the court or in bars when he was out drinking. Apparently he was good at throwing fists.
Facts, the story of him messing his hand up before a playoff game is crazy
He didn't LOVE to fight, but he wasn't going to run away from one.
@@cindyknudson2715 I've heard for sometime now that he liked it quite a bit but that doesn't make it true.
Rookie season 61 and 21 and tallest guy was 6'11 Jordon rookie led to 38 and 44 out of the 12 times they met jordon won 1 time, 4 games with pippen
Larry Legend played chess.. not checkers.. and played with the fundamentals of basketball.. I still don't understand why he was called the slow, chubby white dude.. I honestly don't think he was slow or chubby lol.. He was making other guys look slow. My favorite line though is when the one guy says.. Dude I'm just trying to make a living... so funny,
That was the funniest statement of this whole video and whoever said that about Larry bird was obviously delusional 🤷🏾♂️
My top five NBA players:
1.Micheal Jordan
2. Bill Russell
3. Wilt Chamberlain
4. George Mikan
5. Magic Johson/Larry Bird (Johnson won more championships so Bird would be 6th, but it's very close)
Who is George mikan
@@dtaenodinero He played for the Minneapolis Lakers and then the LA Lakers when the team was stolen from Minnesota. Mikan has plenty of accolades. He was very tall.
Like any black dudes stopped him.
They couldn’t either.. I’m going based off the video. Check out the Larry legend playlist
Demanding that only a black players guard him was the greatest compliment a legend like Larry could make about his fellow black players
😂😂😂😂😂 and facts
The odds on them games would be crazy to try and figure out but I would pick Boston everytime and give the lakers a spread lol
😂 you are getting 100 likes a day! Over 700 likes in 3 weeks!
Yea the Larry bird videos definitely do good, I’m tryna get the rest up there now. Just did a john Stockton video
@@dtaenodinero I suggest a Jerry West video!
Im tapping the Like button but its not counting it.😡🤬
Thanks man I appreciate the effort. 🍀✅💚
@@dtaenodinero I gave it my best effort 👌
Tom Chambers was great, even an All Star but he wasn’t Larry Bird. He got cooked trying to hang with Bird.
Larry was the greatest all àround player. He had no weakness in his gàme none
😊😊😊
Agreed
I like the way you think. Bird was a shooter and a faker and his mental game was unreal. I appreciate your comments. I respect Larry Bird and you. Thank you.
Whàt did you meàn by saying. of the 60 points 30 were fouls?😊
The game where Jordan scored 63points 30 were from free throws
@@dtaenodinero ok I understand wow seems like a lot of fouls though .
If Jordan is the greatest but could never beat Larry Bird , then what does that make Larry ????????
Lerry's left handed
Larry
Honestly. 66%content 33% u
I have him as my 2 pick . MJ is one. MJ lost to 23-11 two times 3-0, 3-0. In playoffs
I like your top two and respect it💪🏾
Bill Russell is my goat. Larry Legend us 2. Jordan is 3. Magic is 4, and Robinson is 5. Kobe, Curry, Shaq, Wilt, Karrem are my next and its hard to pkace for me
