Mr Parrish giving Larry his flowers but Mr Parrish was all the things he said about bird you could say about himself he was the center of great Celtic era they wouldn’t have won without him! Great great man!
I watched their (Larry and Coop) entire careers. Larry is unquestionably right. And Coop could shoot and score and pass, too. He was the Lakers backup point after they traded Norm. BTW, for those who question guys who were primarily 6th men like Coop and Bobby Jones, I will say I think they had a bigger positive impact on the game the guys who were simply solid starters, like Bill Bradley or Jamaal wilkes..
Mr. Cooper congratulations sir on being a hall of famer👊🏽. Also thank you for making a a lot us day with the content you put out about the greatest era of basketball.
I recognized Parish's talent and potential when he came into the league with the Golden State Warriors. Needless to say the Chief was destined to be a great big man if on the right team. Boston would not have been as dominate as they were without him.
The Chief is one of the most underrated players in NBA history, even though he is talked about a lot, is given his due, and is in the Hall of Fame. It was the age of the great centers and big men and Robert held his own against them all. He quietly went about his business and fit in perfectly with a team that was stacked with that much talent. On any other team, as the starting center in his prime, Robert would have scored at least another 5 to 10 points a night. If not more.
I was a 23 year old, white, somewhat prejudiced fool back in Spring '87 when I first saw the Chief. After seeing him play his heart (and ankle) out those playoffs, I seriously changed. I would have invited him to my home and he could have stayed in the master bedroom overnight. It would have been an honor for me to host him. Thank God for the NBA. It helped melt my heart.
@Akartavor I know what you mean. Since I'm Celtic fan I watched games but it was hard time. here in FL they won't necessarily air some games. But since they were in the play offs. As the clock ticked down , Dallas was charging towards the basket, they didn't get to the three shot line. One player heading down to the basket. This is what gets me,all of the team stopped at the triple point ,so they didn't think take the easy bucket, just threw Up a 3. Of course it bounced off the rim. If this is the way the NBA goes down the tube's. The rule changes took all that stuff we all leaned, traveling, up and down , ticky tacky fouls. I wonder what it would be like if they enforced the rules. The whole team would foul out.
It's crazy you say that because jordan passed the ball for many championships and it was OK, so if people were worth their pay check and hit them shots people would be thinking different ly about lebron
About KC Jones drawing up that play, KC said he called timeout and Larry started telling him just get him the ball and get everyone else out of the way. KC said he was the coach and he'll draw up the play and they will run that play. So KC drew up the play. He told Kevin to inbound the ball and get it to DJ and for DJ to get it to Larry and told everyone else to get out of the way.
Wonderful stories with one of my favorite players. (I respect Coop, but I disliked the Lakers.) I could listen to Larry Bird stories all day. The Celtics would not have been the same without Robert, and the Celtics-Laker rivalry would not have been the same without Michael Cooper. The Chief was so dependable when Larry got him the ball down low, and Coop was so annoying with his great defense on the Legend. Robert always finished, usually with a thunderous dunk, and Michael was always attached to Larry like a suckerfish on a whale. 😂
Sorry, Robert. You're wrong about Larry always tallking trash - though it was a VERY rare thing for him not to. After he and Julius got into that fight, he never trash talked the Doctor again. Perhaps he thought his play that night had permanently made his point?
Pick and roll? 12 foot jump shot? What game is this? Looks like basketball, but why are they taking 2 point shots? I thought you got sat down for that.
Love Chief!!!!
James Worthy, Guarding Michael or Bird. "Michael makes you look slow, Bird, makes you look stupid".
The chief is hilarious.
Ahhh, love the Chief!! Love all of that '80's ball!
Mr Parrish giving Larry his flowers but Mr Parrish was all the things he said about bird you could say about himself he was the center of great Celtic era they wouldn’t have won without him! Great great man!
Bird said Cooper was the best defender he ever played against.
Apparently he’s just a step behind God. Pretty high praise.

@@Amick44 Agreed. And I'd say Coop was easily one of the top five 6th men of all time.
@@derekfnord Coop was an assassin. He was a big part of the success for those Laker teams.
@@GamevetI always felt like Cooper was the soul of the team. He did so many different things. Always in the middle of any scuffle.
Congrats to you Coop!!
👏👏👏👏👏👏
Chief!!!!❤❤❤
Best era of NBA basketball and it's not even debatable! ☘️🏀💪
No doubt!!! It made me a fan! And I never played the game.
Mr. Cooper congratulations sir on being a hall of famer👊🏽. Also thank you for making a a lot us day with the content you put out about the greatest era of basketball.
classic Larry Legend!
The Chief…great player and a very infectious laugh lol.
you wouldn’t know it from when he played cause he never smiled. chief!
Inhale to the Chief.
I like to see these two enjoying some laughs.
And good to see Coop get in (the Hall)!
What he did to Laimbeer probably made this guy the most beloved player in the league.
Funny thing was when Chief decked Laimbeer none of the Detroit player came over and defended the SOB.. lol
@@albertsebastian4489 Laimbeer had it coming. Though other Pistons were dirty, too.
@@Amick44 Exactly what Kevin Mchale said Laimbeer had it coming...
The way Laimbeer played, he had that...and a lot more...coming.
F that guy! (As a player, not a man)
When you basically didn't get suspended
Robert was a great Celtic, I saw his whole career and Boston loved him. Chief!!!!!
ALL HAIL TO THE CHIEF!!!!!
I recognized Parish's talent and potential when he came into the league with the Golden State Warriors. Needless to say the Chief was destined to be a great big man if on the right team. Boston would not have been as dominate as they were without him.
He ran the floor so well, among so many other great things he did.
He was, is, and will always be… THE CHIEF!
Love both these guys.....
Love that Parish. Great tales. Thanks.
Larry Bird, Coop and the Chief.
I miss the old NBA. 🤦🏼♂️
When they actually played BASKETBALL, with defense and offense and no thuggery (well almost none).
My mom liked Robert Parish. She always wanted to give him a mom hug.
Awesome to see the comradery and respect these guys have for each other.. So many talented men.
Even this old Sixers fan can enjoy these stories. Thank u.

Gotta love the Chief! Great on the court and looks like great in the locker room too.
I really enjoyed watching Mr.Parish play.

Never forget when he knock lambier down at center court and just walk away like nothing while lambier was complaining to refs
After he regained consciousness, 😅
Cooper and Parish are legends as well. I grew up watching them when I loved the NBA. I don’t watch anymore. It’s terrible now.

Love The Chief!!
That's why you would never in a million years take LeBron over Bird. Bird wants the responsibility of the last shot.
It's crazy you say that because jordan passed the ball for many championships and it was OK, so if people were worth their pay check and hit them shots people would be thinking different ly about lebron
Love Robert Parish
The "Chief" was a great player as well!
Chief!
Larry Legend
Who that was there, doesn't miss that Celtics vs Lakers rivalry of the 80s. All those GREAT players.
grande Larry
The good ole days.

All these tough guys turn out to be pretty nice people.
I loved Kareem game. But the Chief was the consumate Celtic Center AFTER Bill Russell.
You put parish over cowens?
Somebody please make a Robert chief Parrish shirt with the many faces of chief!!
Coop n tha Chief
Did Larry Bird say to Pete Maravich “ If you were any good, they wouldn’t be double teaming me”?
Yes but it fairness to Pete, it was at the end of his career, he wasn't "that guy" any more.
🤣🤣🤣✌🏾
Hey bird did you run into a truck😄😄😄😃
Robert Parrish = do not mess with me. Everyone was cautious of his wrath!
I have a great Robert Parish story, just too long though to tell it
Only God could guard Bird and God better be having a good night or Larry will drop 40 on Him.
Sorry, Robert.
You're wrong about Larry always tallking trash - though it was a VERY rare thing for him not to.
After he and Julius got into that fight, he never trash talked the Doctor again.
Perhaps he thought his play that night had permanently made his point?
CHIEF 👏
Best thing to happen to the chief was becoming celtic....with the warriors they criticize his work ethic, am i wrong or was it something like that?
Parish was comparing Bird and Jordan when it came to talking trash to teammates. Bird never did it, and Jordan did.
Nope. Even He couldn’t Larry.
Just love these stories ❤ thanks ✌️ 🫶
Whoever did the captioning can’t hear.
Sorry Larry, God ain't good enough to guard you!

Hearing this makes that series show about BIrd seem false.
He was a punk.
Love the Chief!
