Anthony Stark if you do everything this guy just did and don’t replace the cabin filter, it’s all pointless because as soon as A/C or heat comes on it’s gonna smell like an ash tray. Did he mention this in video?

The most notorious organisms present in cigarette smoke are Acinetobacter, Bacillus, Burkholderia, Clostridium, Klebsiella, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Serratia. These bacteria were found in more than 90 percent of all cigarettes. YES, SMOKE BACTERIA!!! Thanks Larry for another great video.

@@sirfriendzone1228 If you actually read the article you gave a link to you'll see that these bacteria live on tobacco leaves and smoke contains only products of their burning. That doesn't mean that smoke is healthy or that information in this video is wrong but probably the only thing more annoying than a smokers car are people on the Internet who try to prove stupid claims despite all the information being at their disposal. That and IQOS.

    hey larry.
My friend is a smoker and when he needs to clean he leaves a basin they half 300lms of vinegar (windows closed) for 24hrs.
it seeps in to the fabric and removes whatever is creating the smell.
after that the car is left windows open, for half a day and after a short motorway blast with all windows open, the smell is gone.
probably not an option for you with fancy customers but might be worth knowing ;)

Really like your videos, very interesting indeed.
I am a little confused about the removal of the smoke, you used a steamer on the headlining to remove the bacteria but with smoke you are not dealing with bacteria, when i am dealing with smoke i tent to use a product which is good for breaking down the tar and nicotine, usually applied indirectly to a micro fiber cloth and then to the fabric. I may even use a foaming pump up sprayer and apply a dry foam to the fabric and after a short dwell time extract using a vacuum.
The steamer particularly comes into its own if the car has suffered vomit or spilt dairy products, even then i would choose to use an enzyme based cleaner or biocide

I agree with the ph scale that he motioned, A higher ph solution does leave a residue. There are devices that take ph readings on a fabric or leather and it tells you weather the last detailer used an higher or lower ph solution. You should always check that out if you ever get your hands on a ph meter before a detail job, you'll kinda get an idea of what solution to use on the material your working on to neutralize the material

      Good news!!!!!!!!!
Therefore repent and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped out, that seasons of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send Jesus, who has been appointed for you as the Messiah.
      Acts 3:19‭-‬20 CSB
From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, because the kingdom of heaven has come near.”
      Matthew 4:17 CSB
“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”
      Mark 1:15 CSB
Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, unless someone is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Jesus answered, “Truly I tell you, unless someone is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
      John 3:3‭, ‬5 CSB
Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.
      1 John 2:6 NIV
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
      John 14:6 CSB
For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life.
      John 3:16 GNB
_Jesus_ actually died, *_GOD_* has _His blood_ as a sacrifice for your sins. *_GOD_* killed *_His_*_ Only Son_ for you. All your sins: sexual immorality (fornication, adultery(lust), LGBTQIA+ , pornography) murder( hating someone, envying, abortion and killing someone) , theft( murder, lying, abuse, corruption, disrespect, racism) and idolatry (greed, love of money, worship of other gods and pride) can be forgiven only if you believe in _Jesus_; that __*_God_* sacrificed _Him_ for the atonement of all your sins, and that_*He*_ raised _Him_ up 3 days later. And now He sits on the Right Hand of *_The Father_*__, ruling over all creation as __*_Lord and Saviour_* of the world.
Jesus Christ died for your sins, and only through Him you can be forgiven of all your sins.
You only go to heaven because of faith and belief in The death and resurrection of _The Son of _*_God_* for the sins of the world.
Hell is for those reject GOD'S Only Son, they will be burnt by the wrath of The Almighty God.
Believe that all your sins are forgiven because of The Blood of Jesus, who is The Messiah, The Saviour.
Repent, turn away from your sins and live because, on the Cross of Jesus Christ your sins have been paid in full. Let Jesus is our only Hope, because

What is the pH of that product? Perhaps its close to 7, and if so then you likely wont have any long term damage. But despite what you might think, pH is very important when it comes to cleaning. You wouldn't expect to clean the dirt out of your clothes with a acid would you? No, you need a alkaline detergent. Also some materials need to be left in certain pH conditions, like wool for example prefers a acidic environment when dry. Think about airplanes or boats where these materials are commonly found.

I am wanting to purchase a Toyota Avalon. But much to my dismay it has a strong smoke smell. (Even though the owner says no one smoked in it.) I tried to get the smoke smell out myself. 1) We sprayed the mold/ mildew etc. spray under the hood in the 4 holes that go to the air vents. This made another funky, bad but sweet smell go away. 2) We replaced the cabin air filter. Then the smoke smell really started to show up much stronger. Before that we couldn't quite be sure it what the bad odors were exactly. 3) We vacuumed the mats and carpet, 4) cleaned the leather with PH Cleaner, 5) washed the inside of the windows and 6) sprayed ozone spray in the car, definitely spraying the headliner. We still could smell smoke. I CAN NOT have a car that smells like smoke. When we returned the car to the owner, he said he would send it to his detailer friend who "can get anything out." He said smoke is a piece a cake considering worse things he has cleaned, That said, I don't doubt he can make it smell better. But, it is cold out now and harder to notice smells and I am concerned if I buy the car and he has "Made the smell go away" but then summer comes and the saying "you never get smoke smell out of a car COMPLETELY , FOR GOOD." comes true and the car starts to wreak smoke smell from the heat, after we already bought it. THAT WOULD BE A BAD THING. If it is just something you are constantly doing every few months to keep the smell away, I would rather walk away right now. I also find it difficult to tell as the longer I am in the car my nose becomes used to the smell. Then Other people tell me how bad this car smells. I just got used to it and stopped smelling it. Just don't want to deal with THAT. But other wise we like the car. CAN YOU TRULY EVER GET RID OF SMOKE SMELL OUT OF A CAR FOR GOOD?

Some people recommend using chlorine dioxide instead of ozone, because it is less damaging to rubber and plastics. Do you have any opinion on this?

I'm just wondering, what brand/model steam cleaner do you use? There's many out there that gets praised but first hand experience is perhaps the most valuable information to me - specially that you are a professional detailer.

Instead a headliner, would these approaches work on a soft top? The convertible I bought for my son seems to have been owned by a smoker.

Hey Larry ! I bought a 2010 camry and due to my inexperience bought a smoker car. I bought the car in summer and when the AC was turned on I couldnt smell anything until I turned off the AC with windows closed. It smelled like someone has literally pee'd in my car. I was near to puke. In winters I don't smell anything with my heating on.Any suggestions? Thanks

Isn't the ozone machine bad for rubber or plastic parts in the car? The concept or idea is awesome but not sure how it reacts with delicate parts of the interior.

Any experience with the DrivePur system? I don't even use my ozone machine anymore since switching to DP. Is that a UV or corona discharge ozone generator, and do you vent it into car or place in vehicle and run it?

Where do you put the cord to the ozone machine? Door or window? And do you tape up the gap?

    • @JoeyKaraffa1
      @JoeyKaraffa1 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

it is a thin cord so my guess is he just closes the door on it. as result it won't leave much of a gap or might not leave one at all.

How do you remove water stains on your head liner? I accidentally forgot to close my sunroof all the way and got some water in, which also left stains after washing my Suv, any help? I know some headliners are much different in materials and quality but any help with an 08 Tahoe?

hey man.. I bought a car last year (used), and it had a water infiltration of the headliner on top of one of the rear seats.. I got the infiltration solved, but the glue from the headliner came of, making the tissue "fall".. You can totally see it's not glued anymore and theres like a water stain on it.. Do you have any solution for me besides getting the new tissue on the entire headliner?

Would these methods work on dog/animal odors? Obviously you'd need to get all the hair and whatnot out, but assuming things are clean and you still get the animal odor (particularly on hot days) would these methods work?

Just a quick question. Here in Australia we have an antibacterial spray you can get from the supermarket or hardware store is called glen20 I'm not sure if you have it over in the states. Could you use something like that to spray the roof lining? Would the pray damage the adhesive underneath?

I like your channel but you have no clue what you're talking about sometimes. The ozone machine does actually work by flipping the switch on. Ozone is a gas that reacts with odor molecules by transferring the “extra” oxygen atom of the ozone molecule to the odor molecule, changing its composition so it no longer has the same chemical makeup. Also because ozone acts like a fluid it flows throughout the entire vehicle even the vents.
