1. Wipe the site better 2. Do not retouch after wiping 3. That sodium citrate tube did not look full 4. Invert tubes after drawing them. 5. Do not ask patients to hold broken plastic containers with hazardous sharp bits.
no no no !! always wipe the site at least 3x, NEVER retouch a venipuncture site, and always have the blood collection tube ready as soon as the needle is in
Tourniquet is there to engorge the veins to make blood flow better. You release it after you're done to equalize pressure and minimize bleeding at the site. Also, barely wiped the site. A lot of incorrect techniques.

I did this this is probably the best way to extract blood it hurts a bit more than doing by finger but the finger takes 10 times to get the blood needed to test the blood
I was taught to clean the site from the inside and move out in a circular motion and to never touch it after wiping but I always see ppl doing this for some reason
I thought that you need a separate tray for sterile accessories, such as minimum 2 sterile needles, swabs, and the kidney dish is meant for containing used swabs, etc.
Very good observations my teachers lol. @GLASSEYETAROT
thnx
Exactly my thoughts. 😵💫
2. You can, you just have to wipe your finger with the alcohol pad, although refeeling is not recommended
Wipe inside to out with circles. Don’t touch the area with the gloved finger. You can touch it though if you wipe the finger on the alcohol pad.
It numbs area for that reason swab is used

phlebotomists do lol

No mixing? In fact too many things wrong with this
After you wipe the area you aren’t supposed to touch it
You can retouch it with a gloved hand if you have a fresh alcohol wipe that you can rub your glove on.
@@DodgeRamGrl79 absolutely false. After you wipe the site, you treat it as sterile and can’t touch the area.

Thank you for posting this it was very helpful!
Supposed to wipe center out in a clockwise fashion and let it dry before inserting the needle. 😂
So swift with it 👏🏽
When I was admitted to the hospital in the intensive care unit, they had to do this every single day multiple times a day it was horrific

Why did you throw the vials so aggressively, will literally cause hemolysis
Nice wipe bro
Its that easy! Im not afraid of needles anymore
You didn’t even wipe it bro
You need to change your kidney dish, it is broken and it is clinically dangerous for you and patient
Aiyoo..I never seen like this before ,the patient need to hold the things that you need 😅
You make look so easy
Are we not going to talk about how that needle does not have a safety?????!!?

Not suppose to touch after cleaning
Isn't the tube supposed to be inverted 8 times to mix?
Yes
8 to 10times 30 year vet over here I don't know what the hell yo ass doing!!!!
No inversions?
Thinking same
not shaking the tubes after taking the blood??
You touched after wiping 😮 how people get infections
That’s a lot of blubber for the needle to penetrate….
i wish i could do that like piece a cake
There's no safety on that needle 💉
Do they weigh you beforehand?
They all take too much blood. Blood is life, stop wasting it. Only the blue top tube needs to be full.
We get in trouble if the tubes aren't full....
they are technically not trying to fill to the top. each tube has a vacuum that sets it to a certain ml.
like 2.7 ml or 4ml
Didn't wipe the site correctly. And do not touch the area after cleaning..
Even if im an adult id scream
Bro it was just 2 vials you should
have either used syringe instead of vacutainer as it is more painful
