    I would like to see a video on catfish
    Specifically, do they cause ponds to be muddy.

    How about a video on aquatic herbicides? How to build a setup to apply from my jon boat. Common herbicides/algaecides and how to make a proper mix for common problem plants.

      Why would they do that when it takes away a service they provide? Terrible business practice.

    Shocking of how many people have Bass/bluegill ponds. I’m going to be different and stock walleye and perch in my pond. Surprising the amount of people that only do what they see most people doing. Yeah bass put up a great fight but also need a bunch of food to grow super big. 10 pounds of forage for 1 pound of size

    we have a pond that only has large mouth in it and they are all stunted. I would like to add another species to the pond to help provide food for the bass but that could also possibly keep the bass fry in check. Would I be able to stock yellow perch into this scenario? Great content!

    I have a bluegill crowded pond, exact scenario you described with every bluegill being 5” max. A few largemouth bass that are pretty skinny.
    The only stocker near me offers bass that are 2-3” in size, will these bass be eaten by the other bass in the pond because they’re so small? My pond is 1 acre in size.

      It’s possible, but if there aren’t many bass out there then you should have some survival. They will be stocked into a system where this is already a tremendous amount of food so the odds of them getting eaten are less.

    Do you recommend ag lime in a pond?

    • @aquaticcontrol
      @aquaticcontrol  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, that is a good option if liming is needed. Not all ponds need it, depends on the water chemistry. Calcis is a liquid version that can be easier to apply logistically in some cases. Here is a link to an older video we did on a Calcis application if that interests you: th-cam.com/video/1_WGXMKrGHI/w-d-xo.html&t

      @@aquaticcontrol hey thanks!! Much appreciated. Our pond is very very clear so we’re going to be taking a test this spring after the ice melts

    What do we do if our lake has very little structure and a shad problem? Most of these shad being over 10-12 inches.

      Best bet would be to rotenone it and start over. But if you don't want to do that, you're going to need some big predators. Not sure what part of us you're in or I'd say pike, but you also don't have structure you said. So if you're not too far north, get some big catfish, blues or flathead. Channels chase shad too, but only the big ones and it takes longer for them to grow.
