    Efficiency means more gold in less time ..✨
    Where you put your tailings and the direction you work your grounds are all common sense but many miners overlook these things in there haste for color....

    You're absolutely right sir. I was just out a day ago for two days straight and digging in a wash. I made sure and tossed all of my large rocks and my overburden (2 ft!) Well clear of my dig site. It helps to keep more dirt with no gold in it from filling up the hole you are digging.

    Do you need a permit for that pump or due to it being 4" or less you're fine to use it? Colorado has a lot of funky rules and laws and I'm gearing up to take equipment to a spot I prospected via pan and shovel last summer. Just don't want to get in trouble. Also planning on staying a claim on the area I'm in as well if you wouldn't mind directing me to some good reference..

    Very nice video! I'm new to Colorado and just getting into prospecting. I find it interesting the amount of knowledge that you and others have regarding the geology of the areas you prospect in and when I'm looking at the rocks around where I live I wish I knew more about them. Do you have a degree in geology or did you gain your knowledge without taking classes?

    • @ColoradoGoldCamp
      @ColoradoGoldCamp  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello John. The best way to learn is to have an interest and delve right in! In college I studied Natural Resource Management Land and Water and did some Fisheries Biology. A majority of what I have learned regarding rocks and minerals came after I got bit by the gold bug post college. It's an interesting wild world out there!

    The gravel and rock look pretty free of fine dirt/mud filling the gaps which usually indicates it has been worked and re-worked by previous miners, and not too long ago. Finding only fine gold is another indication of working old diggings. Did your initial panning indicate this area was better than it turned out? Seems like a lot of work to set everything up and work hard all day for pennies. If you did this for educational purposes, well . . . that's another story. I loved the way you explain things as you go along. Great video.

    • @ColoradoGoldCamp
      @ColoradoGoldCamp  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Richard. Your assumptions/evaluations are mostly correct. Parts of this area have been worked in the past but we seek out the virgin ground among-st the tailings. Colorado in general is known as a fine gold state. A vast majority of the gold here is extremely fine in character.

    Love your videos. I could be wrong but that doesn't look like "virgin" bank material. If that's by the Arkansas river, north or south of Buena Vista, which I suspect many of these placer videos are, that ground was likely already worked long ago. I prospected much of that area years ago. Most of the Arkansas river gold is extremely fine and requires a LOT of work for little return.
