    Just stumbled onto your channel I’m a younger guy in the industry “24” and the information you put out is very impressive. I downloaded your book and can’t wait to take some time to read through it. I noticed on your website that your pretty local I believe! Great stuff

    I am in the process of setting up a chunk of my property to selective cut myself manly for firewood and a few sawlogs. This video will definitely help me get an idea of how many cords I will get.thanks for posting.

    I sell firewood so I am sometimes buying logs or even trees to process into firewood. I might have to get that table you showed. Thanks. Logs on the ground are much easier to estimate because I can measure them right out.

    I'm getting into custom milling and firewood, this is great info and can be applied to downed trees as well. I actually was shown how to measure a standing trees height before but had forgotten how. Saved video to my "wood" play list and subscribed, hit the liked too.

    Thanks so much for your information & knowledge. Much appreciated. Harvesting firewood for some of my clients + my parents & friends & other family -- this is extremely helpful!

    Do these measurements include potential firewood from the larger branches as well?

    My goal is to use this as a kind of inventory for fire wood so I know approximately how much wood I have at my home at any given time

    In reference to the cord volume chart, is it a full cord or face cord?

    Its like finding the keel of a boat. Cept. You can just tell it's 2 or 3 if it's 80 ft

    Nice. Does tree taper make a difference? I'm sure it must. May be cutting down some really tall fir trees this summer.

    • @thetimberlandinvestor
      @thetimberlandinvestor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh yes, taper can definitely make a difference. There are any number of things that can affect it. Unfortunately, it can be almost impossible to account for all those differences. The best we can do is model the averages and make assumptions based on that.

    What if I have a tree that's larger in diameter than the chart, say 36"?

    • @thetimberlandinvestor
      @thetimberlandinvestor  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can try extrapolating the trends of the chart, but honestly when trees get to that size, the accuracy is going to decline rapidly because there is such a wide range of forms the tree can take, especially when you consider how large the crowns on those trees usually are.
