hi Jim. have to ask you this question since you are driving later model. I am getting 2021 model delivered this month which is same model as 2019. did you have any CSC issues, how many miles on your car. I wonder if csc issues happen to all z regardless how later production is.
@@liguben You'll really have fun with this car and will never regret having bought it. I have about 31k miles on the car now and have had no major issues, except for a battery with a dead cell and a leaking pinion shaft oil seal in the differential - both of which were taken care of under warranty. I spoke with the Z maintenance tech at my dealership and the owner of a specialist Z car shop, neither said they had any experience with the CSC problem. As a general rule, I change out all the fluids at no more than 1/2 the recommended interval under extreme service, cheap insurance on a car that I want to keep. Being inside the transmission housing, the CSC is operating in a high temperature environment in which deterioration of plastic, rubber and fluids is accelerated. Nissan specs an expensive($40/liter)hydraulic fluid for this application. Motul also has a similar fluid that is also not cheap. These fluids are formulated to withstand high temperatures without breaking down and then causing premature seal wear in the CSC. I believe that the problem may be, at least partly, due to the possibility of people not changing the fluid in time and or using a cheaper replacement hydraulic fluid. The color of the fluid is a light amber when it's fresh and if it starts to look noticeably darker when I pull the cap off the master cylinder reservoir I change it. The same goes for the brake fluid. I found that my brake fluid had deteriorated well before the recommended service interval, so I changed it. I did early fluid changes on my driveline fluids, gearbox and diff, during the break in period and do periodic flushes at twice the frequency recommended. I have used Nissan ester oil exclusively since the car was new and change it every 3K miles. I saw used oil analysis reports on this oil in the VQ37VHR engine that indicated the high temp viscosity of the oil was shearing down to about a 5W-20 after 3K miles. My car has not been using any discernable oil on the dipstick since the 15K mile mark; I did break the car in very gently for an extended period. I use Shell V-power Nitro + premium in the car with a supplemental dose of Redline SI-1 fuel system cleaner at the concentration of 1 oz per 5 gallons of gas, then I do a full bottle in the tank just before the oil change. I pulled one of the plugs at 30K miles and it was very clean, with a borescope view of the piston top just showing a little discoloration of the aluminum. My exhaust tips hardly build up any soot and so I only give them a light wipe with an alcohol wetted rag every 6 months. The engine seems to be burning fuel very cleanly and I don't have any problems with deposit build up or driveability issues. I hope this info is helpful to you.
