The first season was hilarious and charming. The second was determination and hope. The third was full of heart break and despair.
The biggest thing I hated about the third season was that everyone is back to where they were at the end of the second season at the end of it...rendering it ten episodes of pointlessness. I hope future seasons aren't designed to just make the show go in a big circle too...
Honestly season 3 felt empty and full of fillers and side quests (but still good thou). Its not the same without dracula he really left a mark
@@johntumahab323 TBH I liked how it focused more on character development and world building tbh. I mean there is sooo much potential with the Infinity Corridor (even with non-Castlevania related property if you think about it), Lenore is such a great addition character wise, Isaac's arc was pretty solid and I also enjoyed Trevor and Syphia's subplot which felt like a mystery story with a gorgeous fight scene to top it off. Also the animation in season 3 was fucking top notch. Though I do think the two asian characters were the weakest bit of Season 3 for me. Even with the big reveal they felt a bit underplayed.
Absolutely loved s3, showed how wide and complicated the world and people are. No good or evil, just predator and prey.

My favourite moment in the Castlevania anime was when Isaac says "when one of you last human are around, you will ask me why I helped Dracula to kill all the humans, it because you're all so f****** rude"

In Hector's case....he's pretty much the prime example of that old saying: "Fool Me Once, Shame on You...Fool Me Twice, Shame on Me".

I laughed when Lenore put the ring on him. All I could think of was how an idiot Hector is 😂
In Hector's pitiful defense, all things considered there are far less elegant ways to live in a world like this besides being an appealing female vampires concubine, being anyone's "slave" isn't the most positive idea but, at least he dosen't have to worry about food, shelter, village starvation, bandit pillaging, or monsters biting people's heads off. Besides it's not like Lenore forced herself on him he was the one who willingly got intimate with her and pledged his allegiance. All she did was take this opportunity to complete her objective. Besides it's not like the love making was fake they both seemed to genuinely enjoy getting freaky. And let's be honest how different would his situation be if Dracula was still alive, Hector just wouldn't have any female partners in that situation. I'm sure Lenore will make her new "pet" relatively comfortable. It cant be worse than the state Carmela brought him in. Besides Lenore needs him to have his "strength" up and running.... So Hector is Lenore's bitch go figure..... We've all seen worse so far... :/

He is so stronger, and grown in Curse of Darkness, the show mess with his personality.
Finding out that The Judge was a frickin serial killer the whole time, was insane, I was totally digging him until then as a character!

Iunno, I was a bit tipsy and tired from a long shift when I saw that episode and thought I dreamed Alucard was getting pegged, and THEN tortured...Ain't against that, but man did it come out of left field. The Captain could tell that Isaac was lonely and in need of guidance. The humor and genuine parts of this scene are amazing. The icing on the cake was giving him water "freely". Isaac seemed appreciative and let his guard down, if for just a bit.

Issac has had some of the best character growth in the 3rd season.
Sidney Mosley it is only the relevant character development in S3. The rest you can just ignore and nothing change.
Toby and Friends you gotta understand about carmila and her sisters for the future plot so that wasn’t unnecessary
@@tobyandfriends08 Alucard had a massive change, he was naive and had a soft side for humanity, and now sees that anyone can hurt and betray and deceive. Hector's role was no small one and will have a lot of importance in the future. Trevor and Sypha didn't develop much, but Germain and the Infinite Corridor will surely have importance later on. Isaac had the most meaningful development, but the rest being irrelevant is disregarding a lot of important stuff, no one could watch just the Isaac parts of S3 and be totally aware of whats happening in S4 and on I guarantee you.
@@tobyandfriends08 it's a slowburn to an awesome pay off for season 4 for the others, they had some development too. Alucard's was pretty intense, as well as the others.
Even in season 2 I loved him
Hector thinking with his other head again. The only thing I found more disturbing about Hector being betrayed was all the people saying "Hey. At least he gets to be with a hot vampire". Big bruh moment. HE'S ESSENTIALLY THE FAMILY DOG, NOW!
He also got a castle, food and safety for the rest of his life. Sex was just a bonus.
And Lenore did say Hector was good at the sexy times and was gonna train him soo...
What do you suppose would have happened if Lenore's trick didn't work? Sisters eventually get impatient and switch from kindness back to torture. If torture doesn't make him submit they'd render him useless and kill him. Though he doesn't know it, escape isn't an option, because Isaac is coming and always knows where he is due to the mirror. Isaac spent all of season 3 building an army where as Hector hasn't forged 1 night creature. He needs the vampire's protection at this point to survive Isaac. Family dog was probably the best outcome for him.
@Bostan Liviu I think it boils his blood too. Its just not good to act out in anger against people who hold that much power over you. Hector did tell Lenore she ruined his life. You gotta realize too that Hector at this point is pretty used to being trampled on.

Yeah she would be a good choice tbh better than what he’s getting. I haven’t watched season 3 but seriously seeing that just makes me kinda mad. I love alucard as a character and I think he deserves better.
We'll have to wait 300 years for that...and seeing as I don't think this series is ever going to get out of the time frame of Castlevania III (especially since nothing happened this season...everyone is back to where they started only unhappier) we could be waiting a long time.

J purple ramen yeah I agree it’s sad though. Alucard is one of my favorite video game characters and they had him spot on in season 2. With season 3 they did not needed to go in that direction with the poor guy. Honestly what would have been better is if he went into a deep sleep and was brought back like sotn.

I just read that out loud with the most Dracula sounding tone and it's still figgin epic
I literally cried when Dracula realized and said that he was killing his son. That hit me so hard as a father myself, that a parent would kill or fight his own children to the death. I loved my parents so much and losing them was a horrible burden, but as a father the idea of ending the life of your own child is beyond the worst.
Alucard killed his father to protect the species that murdered his mother for healing them.
I wept right along with him.

Well, in the show "Invincible (2021)", they pull off a similar moment.
@@ludonymous526 I know it was very emotional because it is unnatural. One's child will always one's baby no matter how old they might be. Children may fight their parents in many topics and even disagree on many as well, but they never understand that point of view until they themselves become parents. To me seeing a father treat their children as if they were some sort of stranger or even an enemy unless they realize that point, it shows that they might've never been close to their offspring to begin with, and see them as something altogether. Characters like Dracula on this animation, Nolan in INVINCIBLE realizing that, shows that they indeed were just clouded for a moment and saw how much of a monster they had become. A parent that is willing to hurt or kill their own babies is indeed garbage and an unnatural monster.
The scene of Alucard and the twins gets even more heartwrenching when you see him on the floor crying because he was abused/raped by the twins, and it depicts a case of male rape we don't usually talk about. Even if it was consensual at first, the twins didnt do this with him at a chance where he could deny them, they did it in his moment of vulnerability and loneliness. Many male assault victims don't get raped violently, instead, they are assaulted/coerced/"seduced" by someone who can see that they are in a weak moment and will gaslight them later on to make the victim think "it was a mistake/you put that on yourself." (In his case, 'you didnt show is everything', 'if you had told us this wouldnt happen', 'if only you did what we asked for you wouldn't be in this situation', which are things the twins say to him when they are about to kill him).
In Castlevania, they actually show a man (who, technically according the series lore, is a teenager who hasnt had close human interaction prior to his slumber, therefore may even have been inexperienced/a virgin before the twins assaulted him which would perfectly explain why he was so overwhelmed by the twins, too) who is traumatized after the abuse/rape/betrayal we went through. A strong, tall, overpowered vampire, who is allowed to cry and be vulnerable. And put extra points when he meets Greta who he opens up to about the rape he went through, and she doesn't laugh it off as a case of "fucking the wrong people" and shares her own story to let him know that it wasn't his fault at all.
Castlevania's writing is way ahead of it's time and touched so many difficult issues like depression, abuse, isolation, rape, misoginy and corruption in ways that will be still seen as revolutionary years from now.

The show hinted at alucard wanting something like this from season 2 with Trevor and Sophia he practicly asks with his eyes.And he kinda tried to seduce the twins many times prob only cried because of the trying to kill him part .Hate to say this but getting both things you like at the same time for the first time is can make you weep a bit.Happy tears until they tried to kill him.Just my take on the scene.

Trevor drinks a beer and says that is better than sex and Sypha gets pissed off. I laughed so hard at that, I almost cried. They should have put that under honorable mentions.

Issac is the best character in the series easily, such a brilliant character and show. Netflix keep this one going, put more budget and epidoes in this one. It's a hit!
Me and other Castlevania fans want the events of the PoR to be a future season as the themes in Portrait of Ruin's storyline those being becoming stronger through overcoming personal flaws/demons as seen in the two major 1v1 battles Charlotte vs. Astarte showing that when not letting her personal flaws/demons of acting like a spoiled know-it all bratty child, and refusal to adapt when the plan made through anticipation fails control her Charlotte is a cunning, and powerful mage, and Jonathan's 1v1 fight with the ghostly visage of famed ancestor Richter Belmont in order to successfully complete all of the Trials of the Whip in order to be accepted by the spirit of the whip Leon's wife Sarah as the true heir to the legacy of the Belmont Clan and use the whip's true power without risk of dying sees him go from cocky, hotheaded, idiot, to a cunning badass, who now playfully taunts his opponents as one of his main strategies, and that working together instead of bickering every 3 to 4 minutes leads to much better results as both Jonathan and Charlotte have strengths to make up for what the other lacks will be great themes to explore in anime form. Also with the right VA casting choice, and writing the ghost of the family friend to the Morris family Eric LeCarde aka Wynne would not only be an awesome mentor to Jonathan, and Charlotte but one of the anime's major highlights. Although the big question is who would be good VA casting choices to voice the main hero/heroine duo of the Belmont descendent from rural Texas Jonathan Morris, and the beautiful French mage Charlotte Aluin?
He is Just something else more than any other of the characters i loved his scenes

I want you to understand how amazing and deep Castlevania is, at 3:06 when Lisa says to Dracula " Don't hurt them, they don't understand " those words make a strong allusion to what Jesus words at the time of his crucifixion, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." To me that's just... I don't know.. amazing? To say the least, also ironic since it is also these "believers " who execute both individuals
Oh, you notice that, too. That's a relief. When I watch that scene as a Christian I notice that Lisa's last words were she's calling out Dracula, telling him that this isn't their fault, a part of me felt like this scene is somehow similar to Jesus's last words when he calls out to God. Idk for me that's a nice little easter egg.

Yeah the infinite corridor was so cool!! it felt like a huge mystery to be uncovered. I loved that scene and wish they did more with it (so much potential). Tbh I don’t love what they did with it in season 4..

Thanks to their comradery, Richter urges Maria to go to Alucard, where they end up happy...all for trusting others again. I'm spoiling it cuz nobody wants to listen.

My jaw dropped when I saw that. After all the hellfire that had previously been shown, THAT was by far the most chilling part of the whole arc.
Season 3: Isaac kills the wizard and you watch thousands of bodies just fall to the ground around the tower in slow motion, the loss of life in that one scene is catastrophic and shockingly sad...

Other honorable mentions...Trevor's one-man defense against the slew of demons in the Belmont Library. Really showed his combat variety.
And...the castle teleporting fiasco in Braela. Perhaps not emotionally investing...but certainly impressive.

Really think what they did with the two characters with alucard was dirty tbh, seemed liked cool characters that were youthful and hopful and the revelation came out of nowhere and felt horribly forced, tbh a little cruel even. Literally the only downer that was an other wise great season 3

Aside from Alucard and Hector, I felt bad for Sypha in this Season. A part of me knew that she couldn't remain so innocent, but seeing her reaction to the Judge's evil really made me feel for her.

I'm probably pretty unique in this regard (at least for now) but I lose more respect for it the more Game of Thrones-esque it becomes. I'm also kind of sore that all but two episodes of the past two seasons were long, drawn out, mostly-pointless build up to the two episodes.

Too bad the only thing he inherited from Leon was the Vampire Killer. Leon had 3 more whips, Magic Orbs to augment his Sub weapons, a variety of consumable items, and a glove that makes him Item Crash gemstones for a variety of effects.

Also, the name Lucifer isn't demonic necessarily, it's just the former name of a high angel who swooped so low to become a demon, and like I said, the title has been taken now by Jesus and Mary.

In the anime, the Vamp Killer and the Morning Star are two different things, but in the games the Morning Star is just a form of the whip.
By the end of season 3 my main thoughts were “Sypha! Trevor! Come and get your mans!” Alucard needs a hug
Isaac meeting the old forgemaster woman was my favorite scene. It was not only cool but left me wanting to know more about her and how powerful she was in her prime.
I think the burning down the judge’s house should’ve been at least an honorable mention. Especially after when Trevor tells Sypha “We’ve been living your life for a couple of months, full of adventure and victories. Now we’re living my life.”
That scene BROKE me. Trevor knows that sometimes humans can be just as evil as the monsters he fights. And Sypha saw that up close and personal with the Judge. I knew the Judge was sketchy but a child killer, whew! That threw me for a loop!
The exchange between Isaac and The Captain was one of my favorite scenes!

I really liked Isaac’s talk with the night creature and how the feature was driven away from good by the evil done to him, lying to save his own skin at the cost of others because evil people persecuted him unjustly.
Well this list needs to be updated after season 4 came out because Sypha's pregnancy rant, Carmella's battle with Isaac and Trefor's battle with death should all be in the list.

That's Bram stokers version. the real person he based his story on goes much further than that but there's no mention of him ever drinking blood. But he did stake, starve and poison both his enemies and his own people in the first documentation of purposely turning his own country into a barren hell whole to defeat a force that outnumbered his forces several hundred times over. In fact there's stories of vampirism long before his time both fictional and none fictional, and if I remember right the first documentation of vampirism was I believe a French noble woman that became a legend in her own right bloody marry. But she wasn't famed for being a vampire, but she slaughtered countless virgin woman, bathed and drank their blood believing she'd stay young forever.
