    When I use the textures from the model, it somehow doesn't fill all the spaces. There are some weird holes in like the camera lenses or on the side of the phone. Tried it multiple times but always had the same issue. Anyone has a fix?
    EDIT: fixed it by adding the transform node after the first texture media.

    Thank you for the beautiful tutorial! I have an issue though. When I attach the texture file to "Blinn", it does not come out well. It seems to appear as though the phone is missing some parts to cover its body. It also does not show the apple logo. I first used the Samsung model but thought it was the particular model that had an issue, but it has repeated itself of the Iphone model too. Can you help please?

      Thank you so much for watching the tutorial! I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with the texture file. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the problem:
      1. Please check if Blinn is connected to the green FBXmesh input.
      2. Please check if the texture image with logo etc. is connected to the orange input of the Blinn (diffuse color material).
      3. If the texture still doesn't display properly, try adding a transform node between the texture image and the Blinn material and adjust the size parameter in the transform node.
      Hope this helps.

      @NickBorodenko  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi!
      Thank you for following the tutorial. I am sorry to hear that you've run into issues.
      Color should be removed when you connect the material node - you can either use the color or texture.
      As for the half of the frame disappearing - if I understood the problem correctly - that might be due to texture sizing, that can be solved by adding transform node to the material and changing it's size (alternatively you can use another 3d model).
      I assume "slow motion" is just a stuttered choppy playback, which is a result of a heavy workload caused by this Fusion composition, which is normal. It should be fine when rendered out. You can turn on render cache for a smooth playback in Davinci.

For now, it seems like the best course of action if you want to do VFX in Fusion is to learn with a Nuke course and then try to translate the fundamentals to Fusion @@NickBorodenko

    Hi, great content, hope you'll get your subs up soon ;)
    I have one question though. As I follow along with the tutorial after connecting Blinn the phone turns white - so far so good - but then after adding texture it turns in to semi-transparent mess. It looks like the texture isn't warping around the object properly. I've tried different textures, and playing around with various settings, but I just can't fix it.
    So, if any one has some idea what might be causing it I'd be much obliged. My google-fu got me nothing so far, so here I am ;)

    • @NickBorodenko
      @NickBorodenko  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! Thanks for watching and feedback!
      As for the issue, I would probably narrow it down to 3 possible causes:
      1. "bad" model that just doesn't play nicely with Davinci (happened to me).
      2. lighting issues - try disconnecting all lights except for one scene ambient light, adjust Blinn's Intensity and Exponent.
      3. texture size (there was previously a comment under this video - don't know why it disappeared - someone had texture issues solved by adding transform node to the material and changing it's size).
      Transparency might be caused by Alpha or Opacity values in the parameters of Blinn node.
      Hope this helps.
      P.S. By the way, are you using a model from video description or another one?

    • @NickBorodenko
      @NickBorodenko  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the comment! In order to add a Fusion Composition into the Power Bin it has to be created inside the media pool as shown at 00:41
      That's a weird limitation of Davinci Resolve.
      Alternatively you can save Fusion Composition as a macro. Or use File - Export Fusion Composition. After that move to the new project, create a new Fusion Composition, open it inside a Fusion page and use File - Import Fusion Composition.

    • @hasolemar

    • @NickBorodenko
      @NickBorodenko  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're using media with sound as a MediaIn in Fusion you can turn on audio by selecting MediaIn node and activating audio track in the inspector.
      However, as far as I know, you can't output audio from Fusion onto the timeline.
      But you can add the audio from the original mediaclip by dragging that with Shift pressed onto the timeline (Edit page).

    • @Atlantis_Cuts
      @Atlantis_Cuts ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NickBorodenko About that... I have my music in the clip that's in fusion. I can hear the audio, see the sound waves in the Keyframes Panel, all works as a charm while I'm on the Fusion Page, but in the Edit Page there's no sound from that Fusion Clip. Timeline sounds work with no problem in Edit, and render fine, just not the audio that's in fusion clips, unless I'm in Fusion myself.
      The Funny thing is I've made it work with the same media before, but now I can't get it back to be working again, even after creating new Fusion clips, or new projects. So, any guesses? ;)

    • @NickBorodenko
      @NickBorodenko  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Atlantis_Cuts Here are two workarounds that I can think of to keep audio for the clip in Fusion.
      If you right-click the clip with liked audio on the Edit page - open in Fusion page;
      do all the manupulations in Fusion (you'll hear the audio);
      and get back to the Edit - the audio should be there as it was.
      You can further save this clip as a compound clip and copy-paste that to other places/timelines/projects. Hovewer unlike Fusion compositions these can't be saved to Power Bins.
      Alternatively you can select the clip on the Edit page - right-click and select New Fusion clip. Then select both video and audio and press Opt+Cmd+L (or right click and press Link clips). Still not suitable for Power Bins though.

      When you add blinn your object is supposed to turn white, as it's a default blinn node setting. You can either configure color and other parameters in blinn node or connect texture files to it as shown in video.

    • @NickBorodenko
      @NickBorodenko  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As this is a fusion composition with transparent background, I assume, that black background is a result of export settings in the deliver tab. Export the clip in Apple ProRes 4444 or DNxHR HQ (with a ticked checkbox on export Alpha) - this way the clip will have a transparent background.
      If you encounter black background anyway - check the background node in fusion composition - in the inspector tab it's alpha parameter should be set to 0.
      Two ways you can add the phone to another clip:
      1. place the rendered phone clip or fusion composition on top of the media on the edit page;
      2. add media to a fusion composition on the fusion page.
