I honestly have to say, getting Matt to do these kind of videos are a game changer. Absolutely brilliant and so great to follow along. Great job guys! 👏🏻
I have just followed the tutorial with fast noise. I have no idea what I did but I am impressed with the result still. Hopefully one day i will be able to understand what you did here and thanks man for great video
Fantastic Video! I learned a lot! You don’t happen to know a way to read metadata from an image file in fusion? E.g. to automatically display the ISO values of the image.
@@MattMcCool0 thanks! But I meant I would like to use the metadata in a motion grahics projects, so IN the video. I’d like to read the data from a file and automatically pass it on to a e.g. text node. Is that possible?
That was incredible. I thought I knew about these tools, but this video took it to another level. Thank you for putting this out, and looking forward to more!
Honestly saying. This video is really brilliant. I've learnt a lot from this video and you also got a new subscriber😁Last part (Fast noise) was insane... Please keep uploading videos like this.
⚡the text has a cool glow effect around the edges. I really enjoyed working with the text. I would like to see more such lessons. Very often it is required to create titles for trailers and it looks professional. In particular, the logo for advertising. So do more of this. I will especially note the Node demonstration for understanding what to eat with what. The most difficult thing in creating such a composition is always understanding how to properly link the chain with the desired effects. It's hard to get used to after AE)))
This is brilliant stuff, I greatly enjoyed watching this. particularly the final part about FastNoise is pretty mindblowing -- such a great visual from quite simple building blocks.
This is a great video. @ approximately 8:48 I am am trying to figure out why the blur on the edges of the text will only extend away from the edges after creating the solid border if there is a rectangle in the variblur foreground input.
The variblur only processes pixels within the domain of definition. The invisible border extending beyond the text also extends its DoD...it's really just a cheat. But you can also use a SetDomain node before the yellow input of the variblur to extend the domain. This is a good thing because variblur can be pretty heavy at times. You wouldn't want it processing unnecessary pixels.
@@MattMcCool0 🤯Thanks for replying with that info! Where do you learn these fine details from? I just downloaded the Resolve manual - 4000+ pages! I'm hoping to find answers like that there but I'm not holding my breath. I'll explore that set up some more. Again, this was such a great video! I spent about 6 hours messing around with each of the segments and learned so many useful things. Thanks!
@@M.C.A.T. SteakUnderwater is another great resource. There's a detailed article about DoD. Some of these things transfer from other compositing apps and even mathematics itself.
I know im late by 11 months right now but this is so important. Did you learn all this yourself by testing out random stuff of is there some course or book you read. I also don't understand how a generative node can go through multiple pipes😭
Yeah, I just tinkered around a lot until it started to click. That's the beautiful thing about nodes, you can pipe an output into multiple inputs and create just about anything you can think of.
Great video! I also really like Fusion, honestly I get along well, but there are many of those issues that are not explained with concrete examples and it would be good to delve deeper.
4:32 interesting is how you set the 3-D representation of the text. You skipped too much. What are the first settings for this 3-D text? Please make up for it! Thank you greetings from Germany
Wonderful 🥰👍. I really like the fix green tie solution. Who would ever thought that worked so nicely also the text fastnoise is very basic and then there is that trick to make that moving glitter / shine effect over it. That is epic! An item that can change your boring text to something wild .. 😍 thank you so much 👍
I followed the instructions up to @2:10, but when I pressed A in the Inspector tab of the Erode/Dialate node, there is no alpha channel effect that appears? Why? What did I do wrong? (Instead of using a PNG file, I'm using a MediaIn node for the underlying video clip.)
⚡an excellent technique with Erode for working with zelenka. It's amazing. It always causes a headache how to keep a repeating color on an object. Thanks
Hi, I have a question, can I connect a mask but in a solid state to the emitter, I'm sure there is a way but I couldn't find it at the moment, I hope you understand me :)
You can connect your mask source to the emitter as a bitmap and then use pRenderer as the Mask input for the target node, but this will be a very heavy task to calculate. What effect do you have in mind?
@@motionvfx Hi, thanks for the quick reply, the effect I want to achieve is this: the particles of the emitter that will appear on the screen will be "transparent" and show the image that is below the first image, I hope I explained correctly :)
@motionvfx I have followed it till the displace node, However in displace node, when XRefraction is moved, I see whole title is moving left and right instead of displacement. Any Idea why it's happening?
Hmm, either the fast noise (or whatever you have in the foreground input) is a solid uniform color, or you may have "alpha" selected for the X Channel and the fast noise is solid alpha. If you have alpha selected, your displacement map has to contain a diverse pattern on the alpha channel, same for luma if you have that channel selected. Hope that helps! Let me know if you're still having trouble.
Hey! Do you know if MotionVFX plans on releasing any lower thirds for DVR soon? It looks like there's barely any for DVR but a lot out there for Final Cut and Premiere.
24:30 Petition for Matt to make a whole video going thorough everything that's possible with the fast noise node.
If he'd started talking about this when the tutorial was published, he'd be still going 😬 Though we've passed your feedback!
Oh jeez...that would for real be a mega long one lol. But interesting idea...🤔
