Agreed, it's always a great day riding in Duluth, with you and Evan we hammered out the miles! That Stone Age climb hasn't gotten any easier since you first showed me this trail two years ago! Nice work sending the Jacob Link line near the end, I feel like it's in my wheelhouse but didn't quite have the confidence that day. But if I was on my new enduro bike arriving this week...
"Let's mentally prepare here" says a lot about this trail 😂 Nice work on getting the features checked off and you all did pretty well on the climbs. This trail is grueling!
This trail is definitely type 2 fun, like spending an hour at the skate park battling for one trick. It’s probably the best overall trail in Duluth though for a test of all your bike skills. My climbing has gotten so much worse since I started getting season passes to Spirit Mountain 😂 The descent is amazing on this trail though, probably my favorite in all of Minnesota!
Thanks, one of the very best trails in Duluth! A true test of all your climbing and descending skills, definitely the most “all-mountain” trail I’ve ridden in the Midwest.
Stone Age is absolutely your type of trail, a ridiculously challenging all-mountain climb followed by one of the best descents in Minnesota. I’m with you on bedrock being the best trail surface to ride and the builders in Duluth used slabs as much as they could. Stone Age and Spirit Mountain should be at the top of your ride list when you make it back up here!
Thanks Harry, this is most definitely the hardest climb in Minnesota. It can get pretty frustrating, but at least the downhill reward at the end is worth it!
Duluth definitely prepares you well for the tech at split rock wilds and I’d imagine for the trails out west in Moab too. Do you know if anyone has ever completed this climb in one go on video, I can’t imagine the skill and fitness required for the no dab challenge on Stone Age.
There is some luck with how scattered some of the rocks can be that make you slip out. Would be fun to see an elite climber like Nino Schurter attempt Stone Age.
@@AndrewGehn and it’s really tough right now, because the trail is so dry and loose. I won’t even give BOB a try right now, because of the dry conditions. Loose rocks are coming out of the soil and making conditions quite hazardous. DM is rideable, however. There’s so much rock on DM that you can make it work just fine.
@@Randy_Johnson Its really bad in Duluth and I hope you get as much rain as possible this weekend. Saw a video recently where a skilled rider washed out and crashed into a tree at spirit mountain on a jumpline because the landing was almost pure sand, shattered the headset off his carbon frame.
Natural bedrock is the absolute best trail to ride and Duluth has plenty of it. The more technical the better, really glad I had Jeremy guide me through this trail first time I rode here. As Evan titled his video from this ride, this trail never gets easier, Uff da!
Duluth has some incredibly skilled riders but yeah, until I see a video of someone completing the climb it seems borderline impossible. That downhill section at the end with a few locals lines is worth it though!
This was an awesome day of riding with you and Evan. Can’t wait to ride some more Duluth and SplitRock with you guys!

@@AndrewGehn haha great comparison! Very true
@@AndrewGehn 😍 props
That was sick. Pure technical riding and burly.

Slabs for as far as the eye can see. Rocks and tech, Such a proper trail. Great riding man! The climbs looked ridiculous!

Wow. That is some rough terrain. Looks like a good time. Thank you for sharing this with us.

@@AndrewGehn I'll do most anything if the reward is worth it. Ten mile obstacle race in July for a free 🍺😜
Stone Age makes Split Rock Wilds look easy! Great video.

@@AndrewGehn Nope! Never saw anyone clear it in one go. I don’t know if it’s possible. You need a little bit of luck, too.

Definitely looks like your style o’ trail there dude. Cool vid and Uff Da indeed.

@@danielray1558 Would love to see it happen, we’re all rooting for you and anyone else who attempts the Stone Age No Dab/Stop Challenge
What is the best way to get to the entrance?
I usually park at the mission creek trailhead, cross the road and take the Sargent creek and Ely’s peak trail east to the entrance
