Typical Millennials reviewing a vehicle, spoiled and know nothing about cars and relies on their phones for everything and having kids conveniently in their late 30’s so they’ll take care of them when they get old.

She works a job that results in muddy boots and he runs a successful auto blog, you should try to see people as humans rather than though whatever boomer echo chamber lens you’ve found yourself in online.

They as a coupe are a bit first world problems but if he works with reviewing vehicles he would naturally be pointing out certain differences in vehicles because he has seen lots of different ones. Having power everything is nice but not necessary. It’s really all those little things that make a company rich. If everyone was buying the xl hybrid Ford would have to stop selling the model all together. I personally think it’s great that some people purchased the lariats and such. It keeps the cost lower for the xlt since the profit margins are better on higher trims.

A key fob is stil more practical than a key pad…you still have to carry the key fob, it offers proximity lock and unlock (not the most reliable but still an option), offers one button push versus a key pad’s multi-button code, and replacing a worn key fob is easier than a key pad.

I can't wait to get the reliability and safety scores for this. I'm really hoping that everything turns out to be good enough. This is the most attractive truck in the market for me right now, good fuel economy, big enough, not too off-road, affordable, it's just a truck. The steering wheel can get a leather cover for 50-60 dollars (stitched to fit so it's not bulky and ugly)

    • @themidnighttavern6784

Reliability ratings for both the hybrid and Ecoboost are looking solid about two years out. The maverick hybrid has been on multiple most hybrid lists alongside the Corolla hybrid.

Lariat Trim does not have a split fold rear seat and the rear bench does fold down, the strap to pull is in between the center headrest and the passenger side head rest.

My wife wanted to buy a new Bronco Sport in early 2021. We checked out a Big Bend model. I told her we weren’t paying $32k for a vehicle with a plastic steering wheel. She ended up ordering the Outer Banks model that comes standard with a leather wrapped wheel and she loves it. It’s been very reliable in 18k miles of use.

  • @americanrambler4972

I really like your review of this truck. Very straight forward and frank. There are several key point take always I get out of it. 1) the Maverick just flat out works, and gets the job done. No muss, no fuss. 2) it’s very competent and good at what it does. 3) It just fits for the tasks intended for it. 4) And the fact your considering keeping it longer than originally intended is very high praise indeed.
I don’t really expect Ford will fix the glitchy radio/phone connectivity issues. Not until they totally swap out the Infotainment platform for a newer one.
I would like to see the new Maverick Tremor front bumper installed on the FX-4. And I would like to see the rear locker made available as well, but not at the cost of losing the 4K tow package and the trailer brake controller nor the extra price tag of the Tremor package. I am not really looking for the bigger tires, suspension lift, and more expensive interior of the Tremor. Just the front bumper would work for me. It just looks better and functions better for clearance issues.

I think the reason for your Car play issues is because the phone might be preferring to use charging from the wireless charger, but not the wired connection, and it’s disconnecting electrical signal and data output through the lightning port because it’s preferring the wireless charging, plus it prefers it because the wireless is charging the phone first, then wired. Ditch the wireless charger and it should solve your problems

Having been a Ford Truck owner for over 25 years ... mainly F150's ... I wish you well with your vehicle. What turned me off on this was the fact that its made in Mexico and that quality control issues may arise especially on 1st year vehicles. The interior did not impress me either ... however it seems your enjoying your Maverick and getting good use out of it. The Best.

I have had a few fords, and never found the keypads useful. I currently drive a Dodge with proximity unlock. I just walk up to my dodge put my hand on the door handle and it unlocks. Locking it is just as simple, I click a button on the door handle (or tailgate). My keys stay in my pocket, and no need to remember codes. Granted I can't lock my keys in the car and be certain the car will stay locked.

I suspect an all electric Maverick will arrive within a couple of years. Most of the architecture in the guts of the platform are already in place to accommodate it. It’s just not ready yet. Ford already has enough on their plate with this little truck to keep them busy for a while.

    • @Darkmattermonkey77

Yeah. Electric grids that cannot sustain millions of people charging simultaneously. Batteries that NEED to be replaced at 5-7 years and cost 1/3-1/2 the price of the vehicle total cost. You can keep your “electric car future”. Plan on calling out of work a lot because you can’t charge your EV. Plan on understanding that the current grid is powered by LOTS of coal. 👍🏻 Let’s burn even more of it to “help” the environment.

    • @americanrambler4972
      @americanrambler4972 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@Darkmattermonkey77 except for some issues with Nissan Leafs, a majority of electric car batteries are lasting far longer than 5 to 7 years. And there are companies that refurbish or repair the batteries at far less than OEM and dealer replacement costs. And the grid charging capacity is growing. The shortage is not as dire as many are claiming. It will take another 10 to 15 years minimum for the number of electric cars to become a large part of the in service automotive fleet.

It's actually worse for the environment digging up lithium and cobalt via slave labor abroad and these batteries are not degradable but go on

@@DailyMotor Don't feel bad. The recommended oil change interval on my supercharged Mercedes was every 10,000 miles. These guys who are saying every 4-5,000 for an oil change are back in the detergent/non-detergent oil days. Modern synthetic oil in a modern car is good for 7,500 minimum under hard driving. I put 318,000 miles on my last car (98 New Beetle) and would still be driving it if someone didn't hit me on the freeway. I changed the oil about every 10k miles. Zero engine problems in that car. Also for years I drove as my daily driver one of the toughest cars on oil- a vintage air cooled Bug in Northern California summers. We get to 115 degrees F at least a couple of times a year, so I know about changing oil often. 1,500-2,500 on that car... lol.
