Hey there! On one of your other videos you installed a remote for power (I think) while the system was turned off. Could you point me to that video or maybe the info for that priority remote switch?
Nice install. Like how you did your video. I just hate the look of the moose antler mirrors. Wish they had a size in between just a bit larger then the stock mirrors.
Excellent Excellent video! We are getting a 2023 GMC 1500 sierra SLT. Now when we originally placed our order they told us we could not get those mirrors (we were at a loss). But when we moved into production they told we could! We have visited Boost Auto Parts and we plan on doing the cargo lighting. Agree with you 💯 on their new products they are constantly updating. But really enjoy watching someone else's installation. Their installation on those mirrors is pretty detailed, which is great! Enjoyed the walk thru demonstration on how the product preforms, 👌 😀. Its what keeps us comming back. Thank you, ✌️out.
Happy to help. I try to make my videos good demonstrations on various products. They Re intended to help people decide if they are projects or add-ons that they may want.
Nice! I did the same thing from Boost Auto Parts for my 2017 Silverado I already had the tow mirrors installed by the dealer with a new harness and cameras. I lost the cams when I bought the new mirrors from Boost Auto with the folding option but I lost that, anyway, when I installed the T-Style radio from Linkswell. It was plug and play for me with the folding option, just a new switch in the driver door arm rest where the mirror adjustments are. I, also, bought a harness adapter from HarnessDR to allow the turn signal ability (plug and play, too) I find I use the folding option more than I ever thought I would. Love the vid! :)
Hey Don, I recently discovered your channel a few weeks ago and I absolutely love your content. I recently purchased a 2018 GMC Denali truck and getting some great ideas from you on mods I want to add. Thanks for all the great content!
I can’t wait till Boost figures out how to deal with the cameras on the GMC’s. I have always liked having tow mirrors on a truck. I don’t know why the factory don’t install them on half ton trucks.
Excellent install and review video👍🏼 Just bought a new GMC HD with similar mirrors on it. Wish the back up lights would come on when in reverse, versus needing to manually hit the bed light switch
I like the stock mirrors on the 1500’s I do wish mine had the turn signal in the glass like gm used to do, but on the 2019-2022 Silverado and Sierra 1500’s that was not an option. I have the blind spot monitoring, the puddle lamps, front work lights, heated and power fold on my Sierra.
As always, awesome video. Your patience, skills and nerve to tackle some of these projects as a DYI'er are way above mine. Would love to add the tow mirrors on my 20211500 SLT, but all that teardown, and electrical modification makes me want to go buy a 2023 with them installed. Alas, my 2021 was $56K (with 7 year warranty), the 2023 is $67K (with 3 year warranty)😱
These mirrors are great! Factory sized mirrors are really small. A bigger mirror really allows better vision and a safer ride. Pulling them in in a parking lot is also an added benefit. Seems like an easy install although involved. Thx for bringing this product to our attention.
If you want those wiring harnesses to look minty fresh, you should use some Tesa tape when you tape them back up. I feel like electrical tape always gets a bit goopy over the years. I don't think it's too expensive on Amazon and I keep some handy in the house. Edit: P/N 51036 is the one that works best for everything I've done so far
Hey there Don, I need them to make a set of tow mirrors for my 2021 Chevy Tahoe High Country for when I'm towing my 24' car trailer. All I can find so far are some universal strap on mirrors that are a pain in the ass to put on each time and I also have to add some small string so they don't fly off while driving! Love your channel and all the car stuff! This spring I will be building a large (54x112x16) shop/man cave to store and work on classic cars. It's taken a few years to find the perfect lot and builder! Take care and happy holidays to you and your family!
Can I just bring you my 2019 LT Trail Boss and let you go wild? I wish I had the tools and space to work on my truck. Definitely added these mirrors to my list of have to do.
Did your stock mirrors have blind spot detection ? I’m wanting to do the same but gm says because of blind spot detection they don’t match and they can’t say for sure it’ll work properly
I’d love to see a video of you wrapping the tail lights in the vivid tint on that silverado. I’m wanting to do mine but kinda hesitant on how to do it with that big recess on the sides
I really like like the end result. I've been trying to change out the mirrors on my 2023 chevy silverado and everywhere I go they say it's not possible. Any suggestions?
Love your content. I am wanting to do the install, the only question I have is - my Trail Boss doesn’t have blind spot monitoring on the OEM mirrors. I would like to have that as a feature on the new tow mirrors. Is that possible?
Those look like the OE mirrors that came on my 2020 Trail Boss LT from the factory. Is Boost the OE supplier? FYI, the factory tow mirrors are tough as hell. A few months ago I was cutoff by an early 90s Silverado that decided to jump in my lane as I was passing. I was able to escape right and avoid body damage, but one of my mirrors came in contact with his glass and metal mirror. I destroyed his mirror while mine just received a few tiny marks on it. Dude admitted he was wrong and paid cash for a new mirror on the spot (I used the GM Parts Direct website for pricing). I pocketed the cash since the mirror damage is barely noticeable.
Switchback - runs one color (white drl) most of the time but changes to another color (amber signal) until it switches back. Sequential means it is an animates sequence of lighting instead of a boring blink. Imagine 10 bulbs in a row lighting up in order but a millisecond after each other vs all at the exact same time
I keep hearing you say compatibility with all the options, What if I have a 2019 Silverado w nothing on the mirrors? Standard mirrors Am I able to add anything or am I stuck w just the glass lol. Ex I want power fold and rear lights, sequential, and heated mirrors. Is that even possible or am I wasting time?
May be an asinine question, but is it absolutely necessary to take off both door panels when installing a base set of tow mirrors with just the sequential feature added? No power folding, etc. etc.
HEY BRO I WATCH ALL YOUR VIDEOS, CAN YOU TELL ME IF I CAN PUT MORE MODERN MIRRORS ON MY 2021 SILVERADO 1500 CUSTOM TRUCK SINCE THEY COME WITH THE MOST BASIC ONES AND I WANT TO PUT THE ONES THAT HAVE DIFFERENT FUNCTIONS ON THEM?
Thanks for watching! They will mount but each feature relies on systems/provisions the truck was originally equipped with. For example, you can’t add mirror cameras if the truck wasn’t already equipped. Bummer I know
@@Donslife I UNDERSTAND BUT THE OTHER FUNCTIONS LIKE HEAT PUDDLE LAMP ARROW TURN SIGNAL ARE NOT GOING TO WORK EITHER? OR WOULD I NEED SOME ADDITIONAL WIRING?
I don’t think those features will have wiring to tap into at the mounting location. You could run extra wires to the systems you want. For example, tap into to defrost circuit to enable heated mirrors when you push the rear defrost button. I don’t know if it would be worth the effort. Turn signals would be the easiest thing to run wires for
Pretty awesome, I want to upgrade mine as wel… just out of curiosity, did his cargo lamp go out when you installed or did he bring it to you like that. I just want to make sure I won’t lose the functionality of the cargo lamp.

@@stephansmithoutdoors There's no need for a flash with our mirrors. Any lighting feature you originally had would be plug and play. If you wanted to add features not originally equipped (running light, turn signal, rear cargo light) then you'd need to do our wiring - but if you're not concerned about gaining the lighting features you can just plug in and be done.
This one I don't like.. Unless you need them for trailering, they create a huge blind spot and they look like giant ugly blocks. I would not put them on my AT4.
Ha there’s a reason half tons don’t come with towing mirrors. Mainly it’s not meant to tow. Buy an Hd which comes with these and is meant for towing lol
I think hundreds of thousands of people might disagree with that statement since most half tons can tow over 7000lbs safely. Not everyone is towing skid steer loaders, 5th wheels and loaded horse trailers. Also, the major brands do offer tow mirrors as an option during the build, including these trucks. If some people feel better having better rear visibility for their load, nothing wrong with that in my opinion. Please let us know when you post a youtube video on why half tons are not meant to tow. I would be curious to read those comments.
I have a new body Ram and not a Chevy, but I love watching Dan’s videos for entertainment and some inspiration for my own truck. I have the new V6 eco torque engine in my Ram 1500 and like Dan said, I can still tow almost 7,800lbs in addition to the bed payload.

If you wanted to add features not originally equipped (running light, turn signal, rear cargo light) then you'd need to do our wiring - but if you're not concerned about gaining the lighting features you can just plug in and be done.
@@boostautoparts Thank you for your time in explaining that..
@boostautoparts have you guys come up with a solution for the 360 camera yet? Or still working on it? Thanks
Come on now..... as much as these cost. Why don't they have the plug & play feature.........smdh.......
Probably due to the extra options you can add that you may not have had from the beginning
You lost me at extra wiring
It happens 😂
This one I don't like.. Unless you need them for trailering, they create a huge blind spot and they look like giant ugly blocks. I would not put them on my AT4.
I didn’t. I installed them on a long box Trailboss
Idk if you knew, but a half ton is capable of towing. You must not be well informed.
Gross, Those mirrors are hideous. To each their own i guess.
It’s all about knowing your options
@@Donslife I think you did a fantastic job on the video and i agree some people will want to know all about them and their features, I personally am just not a fan of the moose antler mirrors.
Looks horrible
I will never understand putting HD mirrors on a 1500. Just get a 2500/3500
