    Finally a great video about Anet A6 with the upgrades well shown. Most of the videos are for the A8. Nicely done!

    Very nicely done. I wanted to research upgrades prior to buying the A6 as a second printer. Your videos are extremely helpful thank you.

    Fantastic number of mods. I was originally looking at a Creality Ender, but there was none available when I wanted one, this was the next best choice. I'm now running through evrerything and all the recommended mods. Susprising how many upgrades you can do

    Great I also want to replace the extruder carriage on one of my old machines to a lighter E3D V6 with Bowden setup, so I will be following your progress closely.

      Thanks for commenting. You can also check my other videos I already did this mod on my Almighty Anet A8 :D

    • @thomaspauld
      @thomaspauld 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I know I have followed that series and I have done most of the modes to my Anet A8 also, but as you know the carriage is side by side on the A6 not one over the top like on the A8 so a different mount is needed, this is what I look forward to seeing, a light usable with sensor mount.

    I am particularly interested in the printer's holders to fix it on the table. Since I am a novice and have almost no experience in 3D printing, I would be very much helped. Thanks in advance.

    Hello, I'm saving up for an A6. Neat to see upgrades for it. The A8 gets much more love. But I like the rotary button and frame of A6 better. How well does PLA release from that BuildTak? I've heard of it sticking too well and ripping the BuildTak.

    • @NexiTech
      @NexiTech  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes A6 is good upgrade! True that A8 have more love with upgrades but A6 is such great 3D printer. I love it. Rotary button and frame is definitely upgrade. So much easier and faster to navigate true software. PLA and BuildTak is like super glue and fingers :D Just joking. It stick very well. So well that after first layer you can switch off heated temps. But keep in mind that depend off how much nozzle is away from heatbed. For example if you will not print stick to much to BuildTak you can lift nozzle plus 0.1 Or even 0.2 From bed if you printing some object that have huge surface area. That will give you nice stick but you can take off much more easily. Same thing with temps. After couple times/weeks of printing you will get the idea and sense to use it right.

    Thanks for your channel, I enjoy watching it. I do have a question about the buildtak plate, in your Anet A8 review you recommended a vertex buildtak plate, is this one from Amazon as good? Oh! and also what is the A6 plate size, as the buildtak stick on surface from Amazon is 8"x8" which is smaller than the A8 plate

    About the e3d v6 clones, is it true you can print up to 260 degrees with them? It has come to my attention that they still have some Teflon lining so I'm just worried about the toxic fumes. Thx for help!

    • @goodman854
      @goodman854 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on the clone. Theres america made clones that are all metal. www.ebay.com/itm/Metal-J-head-V6-Hotend-1-75mm-Filament-0-4mm-Universal-Extruder-Reprap-3DPrinter/111990898166?_trksid=p2045573.c100507.m3226&_trkparms=aid%3D555014%26algo%3DPL.DEFAULT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D41375%26meid%3Db6ba8c3d220f44a0b59941b3011bf6b5%26pid%3D100507%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26
      That one is ALL METAL, you could in theroy take a cheap clone and switch out the throat and have it be all metal too, but I haven't tried that. A link to all metal throat is here: www.ebay.com/itm/All-Metal-Stainless-Heat-Break-Barrel-for-RepRap-3D-Printer-1-75mm-DIY-Hotend/121705753727?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D40130%26meid%3D616208d9be8b4a3d8cf4c37ce091f77b%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26mehot%3Dlo%26sd%3D111531589519 or www.ebay.com/itm/Heat-Break-barrel-for-1-75mm-V6-V5-All-Metal-J-Head-Hot-End-3D-printer-RepRap-/111956107489?hash=item1a111aa0e1:g:ogoAAOSwgApW~~dv Do some research but that's the basics.

      I never had problem reaching 260 degrees on my Anet A8 with clone V6. Working great for many months. I don't see any reason why this clone can't reach same temps.

    I'm actually trying to figure out how to set up an e3d titan, geared extruder setup onto the a6. That's my ultimate end goal for filament versatility. With that setup, flex filaments are possible, giving you the ultimate in filament flexibility. Albeit with a compromise on weight. You can use a a smaller and lighter pancake stepper motor to make it lighter.
    A bowden setup would be much easier to implement, but there are certain things that i don't like about the bowden setup in general...which boils down to filament response at the hot end. The long tube introduces a lot of flex, I just can't see how that could be good for retraction. There is a new design out on thingiverse for the x carriage here: It just came out today.

    I'm following your progress on this printer as I just got mine this week and I'm printing stuff like crazy to upgrade mine too.

      No Switch over to Glass and Gluestick.
      ABL, makes the cooling difficult, for there are little good fan ducts available.
      And is more difficult when printing on glass, because of the bend aluminum hotbed underneath, what makes the ABL (hard)
      I have tried and set it all up with ABL and Skynet, because of the compensating of the curve in the bed, your Z motors will make much more noise.
      Eventually i go tired of it and wanted to use glass from day one, i focused on that, and got it fixed within 3 hours. Removed the Sensor, used a water leveler to check all the axis, made sure the smooth rods had NO movement, X Y and Z, Tightened the belts again, Flashed to A6 2.0 Firmware, Fitted the 3mm Glass, without the gluestick, leveled the hell out of the heated bed, 4 passes on all the corners.( And again with out heating when switching to PLA.)
      Now i wonder why i should use 9 point leveling?
      All the prints have a smooth bottom surface. Don't bend off the bend, and have really good quality.
      You might want to Reconsider... :-)

    My Anet A6 came with steel core belts and it is claimed to be stronger than the fibre ones.
    I do not know how true this is, but they dont stretch.
    I nearly have all my peices printed for the upgrades, however now I'm in the middle of building an enclosure.
    Just need to find a place for my smartswitch screen by xygax.
    It's a Safety device sold by skynet3dmods on ebay.
    Check it out if you get the chance, as it will give me peace of mind printing at night.
    Thanks for this great informative video about upgrades.
    Peace :-)
