  • Anet A8 Upgrades - Belt Tensioners
    In this video, I explain the installation of another Anet A8 upgrade - the belt tensioners. Use this upgrade to make it easier to tighten your 3d printer belts. I also use new GT2 belts and idler pulleys instead of the ones delivered with the printer. Have fun watching this tutorial!

    Thanks Daniel, The Anet A8 definitely needs belt tensioners. I ran into problems with an x axis tension similar to the one you show. The one I used did not fit inside my x idler part. Maybe I'll try again using the part you have linked.

    I used the same type of X-axis tensioner as you. A key feature is that it moves the load onto the horizontal guide rods directly instead of via the white plastic carriage. This can prevent accidental loading/bending of the Z-axis guide rods. I also added two knobs on the screws so I can adjust the tension without a tool. Got the knob from a Y axis tensioner design that used the same size screw.

      Thanks for the comment, like to add a link here to the knob?

      Thanks for the hint. Will make sure to turn it down a bit. Was it too loud to follow the content?

    Do you recommend a 16 or 20 tooth GT2 Idler Pulley?
    Thanks!

    I have a CTC A8....is there a 3D file site that has upgrades for a CTC A8? Anet A8 don't fit properly....unless I'm doing something wrong.

    I wonder if you would see a difference in a print if you do it with looser / tighter belt. Btw. have you tried printing on a glas surface? I tried the glas cover of a picture frame and it works surprisingly well

    First of all. Is there a way to know what is the correct belt tension? Can you measure it somehow?

    • @Crosslink3D
      @Crosslink3D  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is really subjective. I would say as soon as it is stiff enough that it makes a low sound when you pluck it, you might be there

    And again, i watched very high quality video in your channel, ty very much for this. You have rare quality content channel on the background of shitty bloatware channels on TH-cam. Keep up the good work.
