Thanks for talking about tier 2 rugby. The other podcasts couldn't give a sh** about us. It's nice to see you guys trying to do something different instead of just droning about the top teams. As a portuguese I really appreciate it 👏👏👏
Possible podcast title; “the winger is screaming for the cross field kick off of a penalty because they’re in miles of space but in doing so they’ve alerted the opposition 13 to the option and as such the chance is closed off so they just take the 3 points to run down the time on the yellow card with seven minutes left on the clock” or have I got the wrong idea with this?
Feel like Italy v England could be one of the more exciting 6N games this year, if Eng are still struggling with their last quarter game management, and Italy are improving with it, we could finally see Italy beat them 🤞🤞
Title idea: "The moment when a prop manages to break the line but doesn't really know what to do so gets caught in two minds and attempts the slowest goose step in rugby history only giving the fullback a better angle to complete the tackle"
If you want to do a video on the Netherlands, preview or review the Netherlands v Spain game in the Rugby Europe Championship the first weekend of February. It's basically the decider for direct qualification for the World Cup. In the Netherlands we understand that we are the underdogs but because it's a one off we believe we have a real chance. The top division will go on hiatus for three months to give max prep time for this game. And the Spanish are also doing well so it will be a great match
I played a colts tour to Netherlands in 2014, we were a pretty decent side that regularly beat most of our local rivals and got into higher competitions so we had a lot of confidence going over, and got absolutely smashed by every team we played.. so excited to see more of the Oranje
Wait can you expand on that? Does the Dutch domestic always stop before REC or is it specifically happening just because they are going all in on one win?
@@seanhogan9196normally they dont plan top flight matches around REC weekends but that's pretty unusual I think. But this time they stop the competition between December 21st and March 8th specifically to prepare for these matches (we also play Georgia an Switzerland). The players that are not in the Dutch squad are going to play friendlies.
@@GRB-tj6uj Damn, really gotta respect their faith in themselves, and the determination to make it to the RWC. I personally think they'll get 5th and then be a good shout for the repechage (Vs Canada/Chile, Brazil, Zimbabwe). But if they steal Spain's spot, that would be exciting
@@seanhogan9196 yeah it's a classic "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take", and an added factor is that the Dutch rugby competition has a lot of room in the calendar.
So many coaches want a team to play how the coach feels comfortable coaching, and that's fine if it works and the players can do it that way and win, even if it's not best for their style or even their style of play. Schmidt is less worried about what his comforts and strengths are as a coach but realises it best to work out how best to use the talent he has and combine the players into a cohesive team and adapt it all to where they all work together, himself included.
EVERY* International (*missed out the South Korea vs Zimbabwe game, did get a small mention after HK vs BR tho) Was a great game to really show where both Korea and Zimbabwe are in terms of World Cup Qualifying which both will be aiming for with Korea looking to cause an upset against Hong Kong for direct qualification from the Asia Rugby Championship next June, and Zimbabwe will be looking for as current African Cup Champions. Heres a brief summary: within 15mins Zimbabwe was 0-17 up, Korea fought back with a massively dominant scrum and set piece to get back to 22-27, missing a few chances in the final few minutes to win it.
Lads, please clean the spot on your camera lens that's directly in front of Robbie's head. Otherwise these deep dives into as many internationals as possible may be my favourite content you do
I like your comment about this wallabies team But They have done little They get to play the great Scottish team As Joe says hopefully we are competing The Scotts are favourites Arm the backline gentleman Hopefully the piggies are up for the challenge Enjoyed the show Tomorrow we will know 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great video, disagree on the point about Aaron Reed though, think he had an overall poor game and I’d be worried if he had to fill in during an important match
I'd love some sort of breakdown or guide as to how to watch all these games between emerging nations. Looks like there's some cracking matches every week that the majority of rugby fans know nothing about.
Regarding Portugal they were missing quite a few players inc. one on sabbatical Portela and they are overhauling their pack. They also showed a bit too much naivety at times. Makes them exciting to watch but prone to defensive lapses.
You do know that every Australian wallabies supporter will be holding their breath, with no hope for the next 12mths of games before we know where we stand. We have been burnt way too many times
@SVAgxlxxi you're being unfair. They can't talk about every single game in the World and you can tell it's a labor of love. Just go watch the squidgerugby videos about the small teams in the last World cup
They've posted a full video on that - well it was just Robbie and Will chatting because Sky NZ are pr1cks about people producing better and more entertaining analysis than their own shows with droning, moaning ex-AB's. (Apologies to Mils M. but the rest aren't worth the watch.)
I'd rather have Squidge for WR President than Brett Robinson who knows next to nothing like his chum Billy Bunter about T2 & below rugby. Can you do a video of what you think of this dreadful appointment Squidge ?

I'm Aussie and I'm interested in tier 2 teams 👌
@@footyfin yeah I meant the rugby media. I know a lot of rugby fans like to see the game grow in other countries and that's important too 👍

Congrats on the win Will. Eagerly awaiting a three hour breakdown of your bonus point victory over your local rivals.

100% you have the right idea
Petition for them to just make this 3 hours long and talk about every tier 2 and 3 game on during internationals???
Great overview as ever thank you Will and Robbie. Well done long Eaton for beating Melbourne

Great job boys. Love your work. Would love to see more of your technical break down videos as well
Love these wrap up sessions (or whatever these videos are being called)
The title is so precise the TMO didn't even bother to check

A whole country of people like…me!!! Ha ha ha
Australia may have won, but Melbourne II were defeated. balance in all things.
Qu pasa¿ Melbourne played?
@brodericki4281 just making a joke, Melbourne was the name of the team Will played against.
Portugal are already the 7th best European team though?? France, England, Scotland, Ireland, Italy, Georgia, Portugal, Spain, Netherlands, Romania

While good for a bit of a laugh, you won't make too many friends with that list missing one special team.
