Great work guys. Love that Tier 2 are getting some love because they bloody deserve it. I’m also really excited about Spain, especially given how well their U20s are doing & how many players they have in top 14 espoirs. If the rugby decision makers weren’t so wilfully anti growth an expanded 6 nations could be very feasible very soon.
Name idea: The delayed throw in due to the ball boy not handing the ball back. Ive really enjoyed this and Im so thankful that there is a real push from the independent rugby media to showcase these smaller teams. (Especially Scotland and South Africa, god bless them!) Seriously though, teams like Spain, Brazil, Zimbabwe are really putting the work in and we need to be on the ball for that. As for SA vs Scotland, my takeaway is this: The Boks basically played the 2023 game plan, with a squad they rotated out. If you were the English brain trust, watching that game would not have taught you a single thing. There are no plays, no tactics, no formations that anyone can gain any kind of insight from. So while it wasn't the most dominant, the most clinical, or the most entertaining Springbok performance in recent memory, Rassie Erasmus went to one of the great stadiums in the game and beat the number six team in the world while not showing his hand.
When you mentioned the aussies playing for Zimbabwe I immediately thought of Anton Segner potentially going for a Germany cap, and while I do think there's a very reasonable chance he'll make the All Blacks, if he doesn't, Fabian Holland to the Netherlands. Would be great to see them get stuck in to international rugby soon!
As a Brazilian supporter, I completely agree. We are currently in our best ever ranked position and still pretty far away from participating in a World Cup, sadly
30:00 I don’t want to single out because I know this something the official english-speaking commentators do and you probably got it from them; but Videla is not pronounced that way at all. It’s coming across as [Villafela], which is a whole extra syllable. It’s pronounced [Vee-Deh-Lah]/[Vee-dell-ah] in case you want to know, but you know, it’s not your responsibility to know every language, so don’t beat yourself over it. I just thought I would brought it up if you wanted to know, because to me you do a great job of pronouncing other, more difficult, spanish words so this one always sticks out for me 😅
Vee dell ah. Got it. Thanks for the correction, I’m a sucker for accuracy on these things, lord knows it winds me up when the folks on the telly get these wrong. Will keep that in mind for future episodes. Thanks
@@WillOwen9 no worries, it’s not a big deal. It’s just funny to me this whole thing seemed to start with one guy making a cheat-sheet mistake during the 2023 qualifiers. Cheers
Second thing, noticed your camera thinks that the pictures behind you are subjects so occassionally pulls focus to my man siya and softens you both. When it focuses on both of you the effect of softening the back is really great! Not sure what the solution is, just thought you might have a fix for that in your back pocket.
Cheers chaps, 2 questions: 1. Did you manage to clean up the black blemish on the right hand side around Robbie’s eye on the camera? 2. Would you be able to release this as a podcast?
Read somewhere that the SRU had the chance to bid for Joe Schmit before the 2023 World cup but instead decided to renew Toonies contract. And everytime I think about that I die a little maire inside. Cause Toonie I feel really is where that lack of killer instinct comes from.
Can you please make a video on how @rugbycanada might be able to get rid of their Welshman and Irish 10? 😁 also, why are there no highlights anywhere of that amazing passage of play when Scotland was tossing the ball around in the second half just before that penalty you mentioned. I reckon they just needed a breather.
i would love if you just tell us the score when you start to talk about each game so i don't have to leave the video to find out what the score was. just make it more of a enjoyable listening experience
Any chance on a video about bill beaumont and his horrible tenure as wr president? Currently only 44 rugby nations in men’s 15s qualifiers vs 96 in 2015
Thank you for a lengthy, serious discussion on Tier 2 teams. They're just as exciting as the rest.
name idea: flirting with the touchline?
You don't mean... THE BEST DEFENDER?
This is so good
@@WillOwen9naming idea - What the Ruck happened ?
Love the name!
When are you just going to put this in a podcast !! So I can listen on the go
Welcome to "getting squidgey with it"
This needs much more love - top suggestion so far.
Love the coverage of more international rugby than just the big nations. Hoping this format can continue to keep on going.
LOVE THIS! Also love your Chile shirt. Bienvenido al club de los Cóndores. 😎

Love this discussion thank you. I was slightly distracted by the black blob on the camera lens that made it look like Robbie's beard kept changing. 😂
I love this guys. Stay well. Wales will be great again!
call it: the line that every scrum half worth his salt runs
Call it: the knock-on that inevitably comes whenever Canada try to play with any kind of speed

There’s a speck of dirt on the camera lens that is quite distracting

Love it lads, can you back out the zoom/ crop a bit so Squidge is fully in shot? The composition inspires tension.

Romania hired french coach David Girard which is doing an incredible job !

I reckon you should just change the name of the show each week depending on a hot topic issue.

It's "Zjoh-ZEH" Lima not "HOE-ze" Lima btw. Portuguese generally sounds more like English than Spanish
